Chapter 4 - The Ghost

Su‑kyun's rope was stolen.

This was just a small loop, and the sound of water flowing from the bath made it hard for everyone to calm down.

"Yes or no?"

"Go take a look?"

At that moment, the girl in the long skirt stepped forward nervously. Of course, as she spoke, she finally looked at Su‑kyun, clearly seeking his opinion. To be honest, Su‑kyun was a bit scared, but it seemed he had no other choice.

He nodded.

That way, everyone felt their way down the corridor until they reached the bathroom in the corner of the first floor.

The bathroom door was closed, but the floor was covered in puddles.

Before opening the door, Su‑kyun thought again: there were only three items—rope, scissors, and a handkerchief. He immediately turned and looked at the old man and the others.

"What else did you find in the room?"

The youngest of them hesitated for a moment, then pulled a glove from his hand and answered, "This."

Although the old man had his opinions about Su‑kyun, he also understood the importance of props and didn't dare spout nonsense.

"A mirror."

At that moment, all the props were revealed, and Su‑kyun was filled with surprise.

What was he supposed to do?

These things were never used. It was already too late—past the point of no return.

Suddenly, there was a click, and the bathroom door swung open.

What caught everyone's attention was a terrifying female apparition: blank white eyes, purple lips, disheveled hair, lying on the floor and crawling forward slowly on her hands. It was absolutely horrifying.

"Ah—"

"A ghost!"

In shock, the four behind him turned pale with fear and ran away. But Su‑kyun's mind froze.

His eyes widened, his whole body shook, and he stared at the terrifying ghost.

Run!

Move.

Damn it—he found his body wouldn't obey.

He was so scared he couldn't move.

As the horrifying female ghost emerged slowly, he suddenly shut his eyes and covered his face. He stopped breathing.

Cold sweat broke out all over his body.

It was over!

My God—out of sight, out of mind!

If I die, I die.

There's no running away now!

After he closed his eyes, his scalp went numb—but something strange happened.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

He tried to open his eyes slowly, only to be shocked that the terrifying female ghost wasn't coming toward him.

Instead, she chased after the others.

Commentary in the live‑stream chat erupted at that moment:

[Damn, this is way too scary][Is the little brother too scared to move?][Cut the crap. If he was that scared, wouldn't he have run already? Think it through—he must know something we don't.]

I also think the little brother stood still to completely avoid this ghost. There must be some reason she can't detect him. Does any senior player want to analyze this?

This guy is amazing. Let me analyze it. First, did you notice the ghost is blind in both eyes? She has no sight. So she must rely on hearing.

[We all know the hearing of the blind is extremely sensitive. Anyone who yells will be locked down immediately. If you're afraid to run, there will be footsteps. The ghost aims for players who run.]

[On the other hand, the little brother stood still—no footsteps, no words. He hid himself so skillfully that even the ghost couldn't detect him. Only a master could pull off such detail.]

[Logical analysis.]

Because we, the viewers, saw Su‑kyun evade the electric net trap before and find the real power switch on the puppet clown through reverse thinking. He's clearly an expert player.

He must be analyzed with precision.

How could they know that Su‑kyun was truly terrified—his legs shaking, numb, unable to exert any force—so he stood perfectly still?

At that moment, she saw the female ghost chase the others and breathed a sigh of relief.

Phew.

Su‑kyun had no idea why the ghost let him go.

But at least he recovered now and could finally move his legs. He decided to go into the bathroom and splash water on his face to wake up.

Otherwise, this repeated shock would leave him completely disoriented.

He walked straight toward the bathroom where the female ghost had crawled and was stunned to discover a rope tied in a noose inside.

It was as if someone had hung themselves.

Seeing this gave him chills, and he guessed the female ghost must have just killed herself here.

Moreover, the mirror inside was smeared with blood and shattered into pieces.

Su‑kyun trembled, took the faucet, and splashed water on his face, calming himself a bit.

Then he looked at the rope behind him with mixed feelings. Suicide?

In other words, the rope was the tool that killed this female ghost?

He thought carefully for a few seconds, then removed the rope from the bathroom and mustered the courage to step outside boldly.

...

"Don't do it! Don't do it!"

At that moment, the beautiful girl in the long skirt cried, shaking in the corner.

As she saw the long-haired female ghost slowly approaching, everyone in the live‑stream chat also gasped.

[This girl is done for!]

Suddenly, a rope flew in from afar—it was the same rope the ghost had used to hang herself in the bathroom.

Su‑kyun nearly gave up.

He wanted to take the risk, betting he could slip the loop over the ghost's head and pull hard, perhaps sealing her away.

But something almost broke him.

Because he missed.

In fact, the rope wrapped around the neck of the girl in the long skirt.

The corners of Su‑kyun's mouth trembled. He really was a novice. A novice stays a novice. He couldn't counterattack and become a master in one move.

"Ah—"

The girl was on the verge of despair. As she watched the ghost strangle her to death, a strange scene occurred.

When the female ghost felt the rope around the girl's neck, she suddenly seemed to remember something.

"Ah—"

"I'm already dead."

Suddenly, the female ghost let out a bitter scream, turned, and smashed her head against the wall in madness.

The force was unimaginable.

It punched a hole in the wall and finally the ghost lost consciousness, falling to the floor.

Su‑kyun was utterly confused. What was happening?

Why had the female ghost gone insane?

At that moment, the girl who thought she was going to die was also stunned. She touched the rope around her neck and couldn't believe what she saw. She looked at the ghost lying on the floor.

Her mouth dropped open in shock.

At that point, the entire live‑stream audience exploded.

Viewer numbers jumped from 60,000 to 80,000. Clearly, this series of events sparked fierce debate.

[Damn, this guy is amazing!]My God, I thought the little brother threw it to trap the ghost. But suddenly it turned out the trap wasn't twisted—it was meant to be tossed at the woman. The ghost didn't even realize she was dead. Feeling the rope around someone else's neck triggered her memory of hanging herself. Unable to bear that shock, she went insane.]

[Thinking about it is terrifying. His move made me realize I could never keep up with his brainpower.]

[Amazing! How did you think of that idea? Triggering the ghost's suicide memory and causing her emotional collapse—why didn't I see that coming?]
