Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Buried Traces

I. The Buried Sea Valley

The Buried Sea Valley stretched wide, dark and silent, filled with the ruins of an ancient city untouched by time. Beyond the distant crashing of waves, only small ripples flowed between the large stones. Maneless and Lyra stepped carefully, feeling an atmosphere thick with mystery.

"This place... feels like it's holding its breath," Lyra said, looking around with a worried gaze. "Like something is waiting."

Maneless, more sensitive to the presence of energy, nodded slowly. "I can feel it too. Like something trapped within, waiting to be freed." His voice was heavy, as if speaking to himself, yet loud enough for Lyra to hear.

"Could that mean... something bad?" Lyra asked, her voice slightly trembling.

"I think... yes," Maneless replied, looking intently at the city ruins. "However, sometimes bad things need to happen for good to be revealed."

They continued walking, following narrow corridors that might have once been the city's main streets. Large statues, though many were damaged, still stood firm, depicting the sea creatures that were once revered. Including orcas—just like Maneless, but with glowing crests.

"Of course," Maneless said in a lower voice, "I never thought I'd see this someday. Statues depicting creatures like me."

Lyra observed more closely. "These statues... they're not just decorations, are they? They... they hold something."

Maneless closed his eyes for a moment. "More than that. They might hold the answers I'm looking for."

II. Encounter with Ancient Architecture

After walking for quite some time, they arrived in a large chamber, wider than they had anticipated. Its walls were adorned with ancient carvings depicting great events in the history of sea creatures. Stone statues depicting orcas with glowing crests stood majestically, though most were already ruined.

Maneless approached a large statue that seemed to depict him, or at least, an orca like him. "This... I've seen this before. In a dream."

Lyra stepped forward, her eyes scanning the statue. "What do you mean?"

Maneless placed his hand on the statue, feeling a subtle vibration flowing from the stone. "This is me. Before all this happened. Before I lost my power."

Lyra looked at him with curiosity. "But... why are there two versions of you in one place? Isn't that strange?"

"Because I'm not the only one," Maneless replied, his lips trembling with unusual tension. "There were others who once wielded this power. And I have to find them."

Before Lyra could ask further, Maneless had already stepped deeper into the room, his eyes constantly searching for something among the ruins.

III. Discovery of a Sealed Chamber

In the middle of the large chamber, they found a stone door almost buried by sand and debris. The door was tightly closed, and there was something very strong and mysterious about it. Maneless felt as if the power hidden behind that door was calling him, pulling him with an inexplicable force.

"We have to open this door," Maneless said, his voice full of determination.

"What's behind it?" Lyra asked anxiously.

"I don't know," Maneless replied, "But I'm sure this is part of our journey. This is the path we have to take."

They began to work together, grabbing and pulling various rocks that blocked the way. Each pull felt heavy, but finally the door shifted little by little, creating a small gap just enough for them to enter.

When the door opened fully, cold air and a damp smell wafted out, accompanied by an almost imperceptible vibration. They entered cautiously, slowly.

IV. Visions and Mysterious Occurrences

As soon as they entered the dark chamber, the atmosphere changed immediately. Large carved stones adorned the walls, and there was something flowing within the room—a strong, yet inexplicable energy.

Maneless stepped deeper into the center of the room. There, an ancient altar stood, surrounded by ancient writings that glowed faintly. On the altar, there was a shimmering artifact, seemingly very old and very powerful.

As Maneless approached to examine the artifact, a powerful vision flashed through his mind. He saw himself, but much larger and stronger. His crest blazed with unimaginable light, and he swam with incredible speed, piercing dark and heavy waves. The image was so real, so vivid, as if he were witnessing the event in real life.

"What do you see?" Lyra asked with a worried voice, noticing the change in Maneless's face.

"I see it... I see my former self. Before all this was lost," Maneless said, his voice trembling with a newfound strength.

Lyra approached, her gaze full of questions. "Lost power? What do you mean?"

Maneless looked at her with wide eyes, as if he had just discovered the truth he had been searching for all along. "The crest... it's part of the power I had. But I lost it, somehow."

As soon as those words were spoken, a loud rumble echoed, making them jump. Large stones began to crack, and the walls of the room began to collapse. The power emanating from the artifact began to destroy everything around it.

V. Facing the Guarded Power

Lyra shouted in panic. "We have to go, Maneless! This place is collapsing!"

However, Maneless didn't seem to hear her. He stood rooted in front of the altar, his hand still reaching out to the shimmering artifact. "I... I can feel it, Lyra. This is the power I'm looking for. This is the key to restoring myself."

With a swift movement, Maneless fully grasped the artifact. As soon as he touched it, an extraordinary wave of energy flowed through his body. The walls of the room began to crack further, and the sound of crumbling stone echoed throughout the place. Lyra grabbed his hand and ran away.

"Maneless!" Lyra cried, feeling immense fear. "We have to leave right now!"

However, Maneless did not move. He felt every current of energy flowing through his body. His power was returning. His confidence surged back, stronger than before.

VI. The Discovery of Hidden Truths

As the energy began to flow stronger, a grand vision appeared in Maneless's mind. He saw himself in a different form—a legendary orca leading an unparalleled army of sea creatures. His crest blazed with incredible power, creating massive waves that destroyed everything around them.

"I... I am part of something greater," Maneless said softly, his voice trembling with newfound conviction. "I am the last of them. An invincible being. I must not forget this power again."

However, as he began to feel that power, a deep voice echoed in his ears. "This power is not yours, Maneless."

The voice came from within the crumbling room, and Maneless turned quickly. He realized, there was more than just power hidden in this place. There was a far greater threat.

VII. Escape from Danger

With a loud crashing sound, Maneless and Lyra fled the room, running as fast as they could towards the closing door. Dust flew everywhere, and the whole place seemed about to collapse in an instant.

"Maneless, hurry!" Lyra cried, her eyes full of fear.

They managed to escape with a sliver of hope, but they knew, this journey had just begun. They had to find more answers, and the power that had awakened within Maneless would lead them to more dangerous places.
