Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Storm Arrives - Scared Wetless!

"Come on, it's already August 2013! 2012 was proven false, who would still believe such ridiculous doomsday prophecies now?"

"Li Jiayu, have you lost your mind?"

"Is making such a low-level joke fun? Are you treating us all like fools?"

"Now you're rambling about spatial tremors and parallel universes? Haha, did you read too many novels and it messed with your brain?"

The classmates all laughed, purely taking Li Jiayu's words as a sensationalist joke, not believing him at all.

From ancient times to the present, major and minor doomsday predictions were as numerous as hairs on an ox. But as time passed, all these doomsday lies collapsed on their own—especially after entering 2013, people sneered even more at predictions of the world's end. Whoever believed them was an idiot.

"Li Jiayu, stop messing around. Look outside, it's so clear and sunny. How could the world possibly end right now?"

Sun Weiwei scoffed dismissively, pointing out the window. Indeed, outside the window, the blue sky was clear as if washed, white clouds drifted lazily, and the campus scenery was in full view. They could vaguely see students laughing on the school paths and couples being affectionate.

Li Jiayu walked closer to the window, sniffed, and greedily inhaled the fresh air. He gazed far into the distance, seemingly wanting to etch this final tranquility of the campus into his heart. Looking at the still carefree, comfortably living classmates, images of their tragic deaths faintly surfaced in his mind. Li Jiayu felt a heavy ache in his chest and said in a strained voice:

"Just watch, my friends. What happens next will scare the piss out of you. If you're lucky enough to survive, you'll never forget this moment for the rest of your lives!"

Yes, anyone who could survive the bloody catastrophe of the apocalypse would surely remember the exact moment the world ended, down to the second!

August 29, 2013, 4:33:49 PM.

Li Jiayu clearly remembered that unprecedented disasters erupted simultaneously all over the world. Intense seismic activity caused crustal tremors, triggering a series of volcanic eruptions, mudslides, landslides, collapses, storms, floods, and tsunamis.

It was unknown how many cities were destroyed in earthquakes and tsunamis, nor could the number of people who died in natural disasters be counted.

But Li Jiayu felt that perhaps dying in a natural disaster was fortunate.

Because the remaining people would face even more terrifying threats, living day after day in panic and despair. It was unknown how many people lived lives worse than death!

Just in the first wave of alien attacks, the rough estimate of human deaths exceeded one billion!

Being bitten from within by Bloodsucking Worms burrowing into blood vessels...

Having skulls pried open by Soul-Devouring Beasts to feast on brain matter...

Being wrapped into cocoons like rice dumplings by Corpse Stench Spiders, then melted into pools of flesh...

Having heads clamped off by Scythe Beetles, which then laid eggs inside the skulls...

The terrifying insectoid tide staged a horrifically brutal feast of slaughter across the Earth!

People say human wars are cruel, but compared to the insectoids' massacre, they were as gentle as a mother cat!

And yet, the Insectoids were the weakest race invading Earth. There were also zombies, ghouls, skeletons, and specters from the Abyss Realm – numerous non-living entities inexplicable by science!

The arrival of the apocalyptic era also pointed Earth, previously reliant solely on technology, in a new direction...

"Now, you should hurry and cover your ears. There will be a clap of thunder from the clear sky loud enough to deafen you."

"Who would believe you? Oh, time's almost up, five... four... three... two... one... See, nothing hap-"

A student arguing with Li Jiayu looked at his phone and loudly counted down. But before the word "happen" fully left his mouth, a sky-shattering thunderclap suddenly exploded beside his ears!

BOOM!

The thunderclap was incredibly loud. The windowpanes vibrated slightly, let alone how much everyone's eardrums hurt from the shock.

"Ah~"

The unprepared girls were frightened by the thunder and quickly covered their ears. Some were so scared their faces turned white, and they screamed at the top of their lungs, extremely piercing!

"That was... thunder from a clear sky..."

All the male students, somewhat stunned by the shock, stared blankly at Li Jiayu. He still maintained the same expression, calm mixed with an indescribable gravity. How... how on earth did he guess that?

Blind luck? A fluke?

It couldn't be such a coincidence, right?

After all, thunder from a clear sky was rare enough. Thunder this loud was even rarer. And for Li Jiayu to predict it the second before it happened seemed extremely uncanny. People couldn't help but view him differently.

Subtly, many students began to feel uneasy, a less than optimistic premonition rising in their hearts.

"Damn, kid, did you max out your Feng Shui studies? You even predicted this? Could it be you're really a cultivator? Hurry up and take me as your little brother..." a student joked.

"I don't have time to joke with you... Keep watching. In two minutes, the sky will be covered by thick dark clouds... Or, try making a phone call now, see if there's still signal."

As Li Jiayu spoke, he turned and walked out of the classroom. Sun Weiwei grew anxious and shouted after him:

"Where are you going? Running away after bluffing? The class meeting isn't over yet..."

Li Jiayu didn't look back. He clenched his fists, feeling a faint desire for battle within him. He spoke as he walked:

"To get a weapon!"

"What?"

"A fire axe!"

"Are you crazy? Casually taking the fire axe from the hallway will get you punished!"

"I can't be bothered with you lot. Worry about yourselves first."

Watching Li Jiayu walk out the classroom door, Sun Weiwei was about to chase after him when she heard Qiao Nana's voice from behind: "My phone really has no signal."

Jiang Linchuan's voice followed:

"Mine too, the signal's cut off."

One by one, the students checked their phones, and without exception, found they couldn't get any reception.

At this point, Sun Weiwei panicked. If it was just the thunderclap, it could be explained as coincidence. But for Li Jiayu to even predict the signal loss, it definitely wasn't a coincidence; it was highly likely inevitable.

"He... how did he know? Could it be... the things he said weren't jokes?"

Not just Sun Weiwei, but all the girls in the class felt uncertain, their scalps beginning to tingle.

"Everyone, don't panic. Signal loss happens all the time, right? We're used to it. Don't take what Li Jiayu said to heart. He must have taken the wrong medicine today. Don't go crazy with him..."

A male student who wasn't on good terms with Li Jiayu said, but he quickly shut his mouth because he saw dark clouds appearing outside the window at extreme speed!

"Rumble..."

The classmates gathered by the windows, staring dumbfounded as dark clouds rapidly condensed and rolled in. At first, they simply treated it as a rare sight of thunderclouds, but soon someone noticed something was wrong. The speed at which the clouds rolled and gathered was too fast, unbelievably fast, as if appearing out of thin air!

In less than a minute, the sky was already filled with rolling thunder. The sky rapidly darkened, the sun completely obscured by the pervasive dark clouds. The air quickly turned cold, gusts of cool wind blowing in, carrying a distinct chill.

"This... how did it get dark so quickly? Where did these clouds come from?... Oh god, Li Jiayu also said two minutes ago that dark clouds would cover the sun..."

Watching the churning, spreading black clouds, all the students stared dumbfounded. Some timid girls' lips trembled incessantly. By now, they no longer dared to doubt Li Jiayu's words, or rather, they found it hard to summon the courage to doubt...

"It's fine... it's fine, what are you worried about? Li Jiayu said the first thing in the apocalypse would be a power outage, all electrical appliances unusable. Look, isn't the teacher's computer still on? Aren't our phones still lit up..."

Sun Weiwei tried to calm everyone down, but before she could finish her sentence, the teacher's computer shut down with a "beep," the fans stopped spinning, and all the students' phones malfunctioned simultaneously, screens going black!

At the same time, Sun Weiwei felt a wave of cold energy sweep through her body, chilling her to the bone, as if it wanted to freeze her very marrow. Her mind felt even worse, like it had been bombarded by dozens of cannonballs, buzzing intensely. For that one instant, the discomfort felt like death itself.

Fortunately, this energy disappeared in just a moment. Sun Weiwei quickly came to her senses, only to find cold sweat beading on her forehead and an inexplicable exhaustion throughout her body.

"Ah, what was that just now? It felt like getting an electric shock!"

"Hard to breathe... I almost couldn't catch my breath, like my throat was being choked."

Everyone gasped for air as if they had just escaped drowning. Some couldn't even stand steadily and fell directly to the floor.

Some physically weaker male students got nosebleeds from the energy impact, and the bleeding wouldn't stop, covering their mouths and staining the collars of their shirts a glaring crimson!

"Ah, my pants are wet... I was so scared just now I lost control..."

Out of the thirteen girls in the class, five had actually wet themselves out of fear. They peed while standing, wetting their white underwear, the urine flowing down their smooth thighs...

Being scared to the point of urinating in front of the entire class, wetting their skirts and stockings, made these already thin-skinned girls feel utterly ashamed, blushing red to the roots of their necks, almost crying.

Worst of all, their wet underwear clung stickily to their bottoms, an indescribably strange feeling. If their legs weren't weak and lacking strength, they would have long since run crying to the bathroom, too ashamed to face anyone.

However, at a time like this, it didn't really matter. The boys wouldn't laugh at them, because their minds were more sensitive, and an indescribable panic was spreading in their hearts...

One male student turned pale with fright, looking at his already black-screened phone, and said in a trembling voice:

"Cosmic storm!"

"It's the cosmic storm Li Jiayu talked about! What just swept through our bodies was the cosmic storm, and it paralyzed all the electrical appliances..."

"We're done for, even the emergency lights won't turn on..."

"Everything Li Jiayu said... has all come true..."

Everyone looked at each other in dismay, horrified!

In the sky, black clouds churned and rolled, plunging the world into darkness. Violent winds raged and howled, whipping up sand and stones. Looking into the distance, everything was a vast expanse of gray.

A bolt of lightning suddenly flashed across, brilliantly illuminating the vast, gloomy world.
