Chapter 2 - The College

After getting a taxi, and learning that Aubrey already had a boyfriend, Zane felt as if his luck had run out.

Still, it would be better to maintain a friendship with Aubrey. She was a really beautiful young girl, and he was sure that she would gain many friends at college, as beautiful as her.

It would be a quick way to get into a beautiful girl's circle and get himself a girlfriend.

As he was thinking those thoughts, they arrived at the college.

When they were in the taxi, heading toward the college, Zane noticed that they were getting more and more onto roads with few cars, and then completely alone on the road.

He did feel a bit uneasy, especially after reading and watching porn about a taxi driver taking a beautiful young girl to a desolate place to rape her, but checking his phone's map, he was sure that the taxi driver was taking them to the college.

So, the college was at such a place—and when he and Aubrey got out of the taxi and looked at the college…

"Is this really a college?" Aubrey asked as she looked at the college gate.

One side was missing and one side was rusted.

The building looked too old, with paint peeling everywhere, and it felt like this building might collapse at any time.

"Look over there," Zane said, pointing at the St. word.

There was a board with "St." on it, and the college name was St. Andre.

Where is Andre ward? Might have gone on a picnic.

"I knew the colleges that accept grades like ours wouldn't be top tier, but… this?" Aubrey rubbed her forehead as she looked at the college.

Both Zane and Aubrey had very low scores, and as a result, they couldn't get into a decent college.

Zane even had a lower grade than Aubrey, and it was only because of his uncle's help that he was able to get into college.

"What can we do? Go back? My mom will beat me to death," Zane said as he shook his head.

"I went on a hunger protest for this… this… college?" Aubrey sighed. "That guy… he lied to me."

Aubrey was the only girl in her town who went to study and passed the high school exams. Although it was a low score, she did pass.

However, that was all.

Her parents were ready to get her married, but she didn't want to marry—she wanted to go to college.

Since her parents didn't agree to it, she went on a hunger protest, refusing to eat anything unless they let her go to college.

She went without food for seven days before her parents agreed, with the condition that she had to make a video call every night and morning and she must top her exams, otherwise, she would have to head back immediately and marry the town mayor's son.

She thought this would be a good college, as her boyfriend, who studied here, said so—but this… he really lied to her.

Aubrey sighed. She couldn't do anything but go forward and spend four years here.

Only by getting a job and earning more money than her father could she marry her boyfriend.

She learned that she had no say in her family. If she wanted to marry someone she liked, she had to get money.

Money = Power.

As for Zane, he really didn't love to study, but he understood that if he didn't study well this time and pass, then he would have to say goodbye to his current lifestyle and start working as a construction worker under his father.

Both of them had enough reason to continue—even if the building collapsed on top of them tomorrow.

Aubrey stood under the tree, her back gently leaning against the rough bark for support. Her long black hair was tied into a low ponytail, but a few strands had come loose and stuck to the sides of her face from the light sweat on her skin.

Her cheeks were flushed with a soft red tint, a clear sign that she had a bit too much to drink. She blinked slowly, her large, dark brown eyes looking hazy behind her round black glasses. They slid slightly down her nose, and she pushed them back up with a small, unsteady motion.

Her skin was a smooth light brown, glowing faintly under the warm sunlight. Her lips were slightly parted, pink and damp, as if she had just licked them. Her nose was straight and small, and her head tilted slightly to one side as she looked around slowly, like the world was moving just a bit more than it should.

She wore a white blouse, the fabric hugging her figure more than usual, clinging lightly to her breast and sides. The buttons down the front were neat, though the top one was left undone, showing a bit of her collarbone and the soft upper curve of her chest. Her breasts moved gently with each breath, not large, but round and firm beneath the thin fabric. Her blouse looked slightly wrinkled now, like she had been holding onto it or adjusting it on the way.

Her black skirt reached her ankles, tight around her waist and hips. The way it clung made the shape of her body clear—her hips soft, her thighs smooth and full underneath the fabric. When a breeze passed, the skirt shifted slightly, pressing against her legs and revealing the natural shape of her calves. Her stance was a bit loose, knees not quite locked, as if she had to focus to stay balanced.

She wore black flat shoes that matched the skirt, simple and clean, though one foot was slightly turned out like she'd lost her balance for a moment before steadying herself. Her hands hung at her sides—one loosely holding her phone, the other brushing her thigh now and then like she was fidgeting. Her shoulders rose and fell with a quiet sigh, and her breast moved with slow, uneven breaths.

She looked calm, but clearly a little tipsy.

Zane had spent time with her and he thought that she was not the type of girl who would drink alcohol, not before meeting him for dinner.

"What happened to her?" Zane wondered as he approached her.
