Chapter 1 - The Echo Of Command (Chap 1)

The city of the Tokyo Settlement was bustling with activity.

Skyscrapers stretched like spires from the conquered country, marking Britannia's rule over Area Eleven. Beneath the image of submission from the Elevens, rebellion sparked.

At the center of it all sat a prince in disguise, clothed in the uniform of an everyday schoolboy.

Lelouch Vi Britannia, now the mysterious Lelouch Lamperouge, sat alone in the student council room at Ashford Academy. Chess pieces were scattered in front of him, the game and his opponent already long gone. His violet eyes were unfocused as he looked out the window at a city he couldn't trust.

A cup of tea rested on the table near him. It had already turned cold by the passing time.

The door of the student council room creaked open behind him.

"Oh! Lelouch! I thought you would be home by now," came a soft, familiar voice.

It was Shirley. Sweet, cute, and naive. She was too innocent for this world.

Too innocent to notice Lelouch's innermost thoughts.

"I had something on my mind," Lelouch said without a beat. He smiled as he looked over his shoulder at Shirley, his smile catching her slightly off guard. Shirley closed the door behind her and walked slowly over to him.

Lelouch noticed her uniform jacket was open just enough to defy school regulation. Her auburn hair sparkled in the glow of the sunshine coming through the window. Perhaps she had swim practice a little bit ago, Lelouch thought to himself as Shirley sat next to him.

Dangerously close.

"You've been distant lately," she said while poking his arm slightly. "Skipping out on student council meetings, disappearing from classes, and whatnot. You aren't hiding a secret girlfriend, are you?"

Lelouch chuckled at the thought. "I assure you, no complication like that exists."

Shirley smirked, leaning toward him slightly. "That's not a no, Lelouch."

Lelouch tilted his face slightly.

He noticed Shirley's growing affection by the day. It should have been a problem. Attachments were liabilities, after all. He didn't want her getting too close. He naturally attracted danger. However, she could be more than just a simple friend. Lelouch's deep-seated feelings were confusing him.

He turned his thoughts quickly to his Geass.

The evolution of his Geass had come suddenly.

He originally thought he was limited to a one-time command per person with his Geass, but that was no longer true. Several nights ago, he had used it on a soldier he was certain had already experienced his Geass. The soldier had obeyed immediately and bent to Lelouch's will.

Has my Geass really adapted? Lelouch thought to himself as he rested in the physical tension with Shirley, their bodies pressing up teasingly against each other on the couch. Shirley was right here. Right here for the taking.

"Shirley," he said softly, turning her face gently with his hands to look at him as she tried to break the tension. Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink as his hands gently held her face.

She blinked. "Hm?"

Lelouch's left eye flared red as he activated his power of absolute obedience.

"Obey me. Forget your fears. Tell me what you really want from me."

Her pupils dilated.

"I want you to... kiss me," she whispered as she looked at his lips.

Lelouch leaned forward slowly, letting the tension spark between them. He cupped her cheeks with both of his hands. Shirley gave in to her desire, leaning into his embrace. His lips brushed slightly against hers, seeing how she would react.

She kissed him back with a burning passion, with an emotion that was obviously repressed. Her legs, which were originally on the couch with her feet on the floor, were now straddling Lelouch. Their kisses became more intense as the couch cushions kept moving back and forth.

Lelouch knew if this kept going on for long, that he wouldn't be able to resist her for long.

He pulled away from her, the effects of the Geass starting to wear off.

Shirley smiled nervously as she pulled away, realizing what she had done. "I-I'm sorry, was that weird? I didn't mean—"

"You did mean it," Lelouch said, smiling while adjusting his messed-up uniform. "Don't apologize for the truth, Shirley."

She got up from the couch, blushing. Shirley nodded and left the room out of embarrassment.

After a few moments, Lelouch got up from the couch as well. He picked up his favorite chess piece. The Black King. He twirled the chess piece in his hand. If his Geass could really be used multiple times on the same person, it changed everything.

He left the room.

_______

It was now nighttime.

The air buzzed with a certain tension as the darkness set into the sky. Lelouch returned to one of his hideouts. The warehouse was quiet as usual. C.C. stood barefoot on the cold concrete in a skirt and school uniform, her long, beautiful hair spilling like ivy down her back. She didn't turn to face him as he walked inside. He guessed she was spying on him.

"You kissed her," she said with a hint of sharpness.

He stopped walking toward her. He responded playfully. "How do you know?"

She didn't answer him right away. Instead, she turned to face him slowly with no hint of anger.

"She is a foolish girl. You are a foolish boy. But you're learning. That's what matters."

Lelouch studied C.C. curiously. "My Geass has changed. It works on the same person more than once."

C.C.'s expression didn't change as she walked over to Lelouch. Her gold eyes stared into his with a desirable intensity. "I suspected as much. Your mind and soul are different than most. It was only a matter of time before something happened."

Lelouch stepped closer to her and gently pushed her up against the nearest wall.

"Like this?" he said as C.C. smirked, trying to act unfazed.

"I want to see if a King's power is enough to command a witch."

Their eyes locked more intensely as an unspoken understanding passed between both of them. It wasn't obvious or clear, it was something dangerous. Dangerously passionate. Primal.

Lelouch leaned his face until he was whispering words into C.C.'s ear which made her skin tingle. He wanted to forget about everything in this moment except her.

"Then kneel," he said softly, his left eye glowing crimson red.

"Yes, sir," C.C. smiled as she obeyed him.

Lelouch smirked.
