Circa 1200 BCE – Ancient Israel
The sun scorched the stone paths of Canaan as Marcus walked with a shepherd's staff and dust-covered sandals. He arrived just as the Israelites prepared for battle, the Ark of the Covenant carried ahead like a blazing flame.
"Who are you?" a soldier asked, eyeing his foreign cloak.
Marcus smiled.
> "Just someone who's been through a lot more plagues than I care to remember."
He met prophets, some convinced he was an angel, others wary of his casual words and subtle miracles. When a child died of fever, Marcus laid hands on her, using gacha-drawn healing powers from Marvel's Elixir. She gasped back to life.
> "You are no man," whispered her mother. "You are a promise kept."
He debated scripture with judges, vanished during temple debates, and once whispered to a man named Samuel beneath a star-soaked sky:
> "When your voice speaks in the night, listen. You'll change everything."
Some scrolls would later say a mysterious stranger advised kings and helped deliver cities from ruin. They called him The Wanderer of God, but none could ever describe his face the same way.
