Cherreads

Chapter 23 - 23

The moment the words left her mouth, Niley's lips twitched slightly.

The other three men glanced at Mier awkwardly, then quietly went about their business.

Niley waved her hand at him. "Just call me Niley."

Her face turned slightly red as she said it. With two handsome men calling her "wife," she felt a little overwhelmed!

And saying "wife" or something like that? She'd wait until she talked to Mier before making that decision.

Otherwise, with so many husbands suddenly appearing, she wasn't quite used to it yet.

"But we are your husbands, calling you by your name would be disrespectful."

The young boy quickly noticed that Niley's face turned red, even if it was just for a second, he took the chance to tease her.

But he was disappointed when Niley ignored him and didn't react at all.

He pouted, eating a pastry while keeping an eye on Mier and Niley.

At that moment, the door opened.

Mier, just waking up, felt like he'd been run over by a carriage. He thought back to last night's wild moments, and his face turned bright red.

He reached out to feel the spot beside him; it was cold. She must have already gotten up, so he quickly climbed out of bed.

But as soon as he stood up, he felt his body being pulled in another direction, and he couldn't help but frown. No wonder his father and Niley were so concerned about his body the day after their first time together. It was really that uncomfortable!

He bore with the discomfort and stepped out of the room, only to find Xing in the kitchen. He quickly walked over, concerned. "You're back? How are you feeling?"

He pulled Xing over, giving him a quick look, relieved to see he was alright. He sighed with relief and turned to the frail Liam sitting nearby. "Liam, how are you feeling?"

"Don't worry, Second Brother, the Grim Reaper's not coming for me yet." Liam gave a weak smile, but it was obvious it was forced. His face turned even paler as he spoke.

Mier's heart ached seeing him like that. "It's so cold; you must have caught a chill."

Mier began to take off his coat to warm Liam up, but a pair of hands stopped him.

Niley, seeing Mier ignore her presence, sighed.

She stepped forward to stop him. "Just take him to the room. No need to take off your clothes."

"Mier…"

Mier, who had locked eyes with Niley, was suddenly a bit tongue-tied. Seeing her so close to him, her hand resting gently on his shoulder, in front of his brothers no less, made his face heat up.

Niley leaned closer to Mier and softly asked, "Are you feeling better?"

"Second Brother, are you okay?"

Hearing Niley's question, Xing became worried about his brother, but as soon as he spoke, Mier's face turned bright red.

Xing had never seen his brother look like this, so he stood frozen in place, completely forgetting to bring the pastry to his mouth.

Niley glanced at Xing and mentally sighed. He's just a kid, I'll let it slide.

Then, with a sudden motion, she picked Mier up in her arms and walked away. Before leaving, she said to the familiar faces, "There's no need for so many people in the kitchen. Take Liam and head to the room."

Liam, the frail one, lifted his eyelids slightly to glance at Niley before weakly lowering his head.

The other three men watched silently as Niley carried Mier, all stunned for a moment. After the two of them left, they exchanged glances. Xing then led Liam into the room.

"Let me check if you're injured badly."

"Wife, you don't have to."

Xing and Liam exchanged a look, thinking it wasn't really appropriate to go in, but they'd already pushed the door open, and it would be awkward to turn back now.

Without saying anything, they just walked in.

Liam, the frail one, glanced around the room before sitting down in the chair Niley often sat in.

Xing walked over to the table, picked up some snacks, and started eating.

On the bed, Mier was still in a half-undressed state when Niley tugged at his pants. Seeing his two younger brothers walk in, Mier quickly buried his face in Niley's embrace out of embarrassment.

Seeing Mier shy like this, Niley gently patted his back, trying to comfort him. "It's okay."

She had known there would be outsiders today, and she regretted not using her powers to help Mier feel better the night before.

But thinking about the serious matter at hand, she finally pulled Mier out of her embrace and made him look her in the eye. "You haven't told me about them yet."

With a silent glance toward the two men standing in the room, Niley spoke again.

Mier was slightly surprised. "Didn't you already know last night?"

At these words, Niley looked confused. "Know what?"

She only knew that Mier went to the town to meet someone yesterday, which was why she said what she did last night, mostly because she wanted to reward him.

It was only this morning that she realized Mier had been planning something behind her back, but now that things were this far along, she was willing to listen to his explanation.

After all, she had fallen into the trap willingly. He had set it, but she was the one who jumped right in.

Mier saw that Niley wasn't aware of everything, but he still had to let his brothers into the room. He braced himself and explained to Niley:

"I knew… I knew the contract said all five of our names. We're all part of the agreement!"

Once he said that, the heavy weight on his heart felt lighter, and he was just waiting for Niley's judgment.

To his surprise, Niley simply reached out and patted his head, looking at him with affection in her eyes.

"Buy one, get four? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Buy one, get four? So Second Brother is the one you bought, and the rest of us are the freebies, huh?"

Xing, who had been snacking, couldn't help but speak up, leaning to the side and listening to the conversation. When he heard that, he couldn't resist chiming in.

Liam, still slouched in the chair, glanced over at Niley and Mier.

Niley took a deep breath. She didn't appreciate Xing's boldness, but since he was Mier's brother, she still spoke kindly. "I remember there's another room next door. You all should clean it up and stay there."

"Wife."

Mier tugged at Niley's sleeve. He hadn't seen his brothers for days, and he missed them terribly. He wanted to stay with them.

Seeing the eager look in his eyes, Niley understood his feelings but still teased him. She flicked his nose. "You can see them every day now."

"You two are so mushy!"

After Xing's words, he moved closer to the couple, curious. "Where did you get these clothes? And why are there so many things in this room I've never seen before?"

As soon as he spoke, Mier's heart dropped. Oh no!

Seeing his fifth brother move closer to touch things, Mier quickly said, "Don't touch those. Niley bought them for a high price."

"It's fine, just as long as no one else knows."
