The room was cold. Metallic. Two chairs. One table. Surveillance drone humming in the corner.
You sat slumped in the chair, blood crusted on your jacket, your shoulder stitched but throbbing. No restraints—but it still felt like a cage.
The door opened.
Leon Kennedy stepped in.
Older now, silver threading through his hair. Still carried himself like a soldier. Still wore that dead-serious look that said I've seen more than you want to know.
He dropped a file on the table.
"Ten dead. Four buildings damaged. Unregistered kinetic weaponry. Two enhanced fugitives at large."
He leaned in.
"And your name keeps showing up on every report."
You stared back. "If I hadn't shown up, you'd be zipping up body bags for Lia and Ada right now."
Leon didn't blink. "Not the point."
He opened the file—photos spilled out. Nova. Grimm. Seris. Jin. ECO. And you.
He tapped one with your image.
"You don't have clearance. You don't have authorization. You don't even have a badge."
He paused.
"But you've got history. With Ada."
Your silence was answer enough.
Leon straightened. "Look—I don't care if you're some off-the-books vigilante. But if you're playing games in my city, I need to know what the hell we're up against."
You leaned forward.
"Zeyren is building something bigger than Genesis. He's using ECO as a catalyst. Echo isn't just a team—they're a vision. Twisted. Calculated. And dangerous."
Leon studied you.
Then, finally, he exhaled, pulled the door halfway open—and said quietly:
"Medical ward. Go see your team. But if I get even a whisper that you've compromised this city again…"
He looked you dead in the eye.
"I'll bring you in myself."
Then he was gone.

He turned to his team.

Then he looked to the shadows.
