Sitting on my bed, my armor still on, I contemplate going to the north or seeing the heroes. I really want to head to the north to see how strong the monsters are to summon heroes, and I wonder if these heroes are from another world. I am really curious about them, and I wonder if they come from my world or another. Lying down, I think back to Rosiaria, my first love in all three worlds. She caught my eye with how she killed demons, slicing them into pieces with ease, and that quirky laugh, or the way she swayed her hips when she knew I was watching.
^SIGH^
Without me realizing it, I fall asleep, something I have not done in a while.

Waking up with a loud commotion, I get up and grab my sword from the armory and equip it. Walking out of my room, I see two teenagers, two males and one female, wearing armor, and some knight behind them.
"My name is Kurois and I am a hero, and I would like to register as an adventurer to get strong and along with me are my lover Clair, and my friend Tyler," he said with a smug smile
A female receptionist answered them. "Great, that's so good to hear we are having a competition so you don't just start off as a low rank. If you are a low rank, you can rank up quicker," she said, side-eyeing me for some reason.
The Tyler kid saw this and looked my way, very perceptive, as his friend agreed and signed their names. Shaking my head, I headed out of the building I was about to use wind magic in, but then I remembered something Lorn told me.

"Magic is not to be used in the kingdom; if used, you'll go to the underground prison for at least a week, depending on the level of the spell you used," he said as we entered the kingdom, along with some other rules.

So I decide to walk out to northern exit I could feel someone following me, not just one but three curious people. I lead them to a dead-end alley as I jump to the roof and saw the heroes from the guild look around confused, jumping to block their only exit I might as well ask some questions while they are here.
"Why are you following me?" I asked, startling them.
"We just wanted to party up after the competition later if you were interested," Tyler said, his long blonde hair tied into a messy bun.
"Yeah, man, let's party up. We can have a cool party, and how about telling me where you got that sick armor and how much it is, and if you're willing to sell it to me?" Kurios said, smiling a cocky smile, his messy brown hair reaching his nose, blocking one eye.
Clair just stood behind Kurios looking scared.
"Alright, but what can you do, and what are you good at?" I asked, curious.
"Well, I am a paladin, so I carry a longsword like the one on your back and a greatshield. My buddy here is an archer; he just has his weapon in his inventory like me at the moment, annoying to lug around, and my beautiful Claire here is a priest with buffing and healing spells," he said as Claire blushed while Tyler looked annoyed when he mentioned inventory.
That is a really good party setup. I guess then I should also do the competition; it can rank me up, and I'll be able to do better jobs, and if I can't do jobs with them because of my low rank, fine, I'll do that. It's very cliché, to be honest.
"Sure, when is the competition?" I asked, giving in.
"Let's go at noon, so be back at the guild by then, sir," Kurious said, bumping as they walked past me, stunned in shock.
'Sir . . . . . . . . Sir. . . . . . . . Sir, I mean, I know I am forty, but that is not that old, right . . . right?' I thought, hoping a mind reader would tell me it's not, but no one answered my plea.

Making it to the gate, I was stopped by the guard handing out my guild card. They let me go but said not to go to the forest; it's dangerous for an F-rank. That gave me a hint on the leveling system from F to A or maybe S, but that is for later. Let's find those goblins. Once outside the northern gate and a little into the forest, I put some mana into my ears, listening for any sounds. After a few seconds, I could hear the cackles of some high-pitched voice, definitely not human.
'Wind-Walker,' I thought, and as wind sprouted from my feet, lifting me up as I walked to the sound of goblins, after a minute I heard a gasp below me. Looking down, I could see a party under me looking up at me in astonishment. "Blurring Mirroring,' I thought as my body turned translucent as I continued walking as the pary undermen cast a spell on themself.
Hearing the sound right under me, "Wind-Blade," I said in a low voice as it sliced through six of the goblins. Grabbing the ear that was cut off, I decided to use a detection spell. "Investigate," I said. The world around me blurred as mana signatures appeared around me from all beings. Then I sensed the faint life of one of the goblins under me, a purple color looking for any more. I could see some to my left deeper into the forest along with a larger purple signature.
'I guess all of the monsters in this world have purple mana,' I thought, walking to the signature as I turn off my detection spell, making it to a clearing where a poorly made encampment was made smiling, I turn off blurring Mirroring as I strolled in, the goblin guarding the entrance died before even realizing it as I cut off their ears and, with a light slap, popped their head like a balloon, using some light wind magic to stir the blood away from me, continuing this until I made it to the made hut in the middle of the encampment. Walking in, I could see an orc eating a deer; seeing me, it roared, grabbing the club next to it.
"STOP," I said, putting mana into my voice, making a small rune enchantment to freeze it, putting my hand on it, and smiling as I tapped on his chest, caving it in with a light tap. "Man, if I were evil, I could rule this world," I said as I pulled the head of the orc off, and grabbing a small blanket from the hut floor, I put the head in it and put it in my armory, too lazy to carry it.
"H...HELP SOMEONE PLEASE," A scream startled me as my hearing was still heightened. Without thinking, I rushed to the sound, making it there in a second, seeing a boy fighting a big wolf and a girl on the ground with a large gash in her stomach and a bite mark on her arm, so it barely hung on by the nerve and muscle.
"Heal," I cast a small healing spell, healing them both as I shot a condensed fireball at the wolf as it pierced with no trouble through the wolf's stomach before imploding the wolf as its body parts flew everywhere, covering the boy in blood and guts I used some light water magic to clean him. I looked over at the girl who passed out.
"Thank you, sir mage." I looked over at the boy who kneeled to me with his head touching the ground.
"It's fine; just take this girl to safety. If you go straight that way, you will not encounter any monsters and will reach the kingdom's walls in a few minutes if you just walk," I said, pointing behind.
"Thank you again, sir," he said as he picked up the girl and started running in the direction I pointed.
'Do I sound old why does everyone call me sir?' I thought as I followed behind them, wanting to get my reward and buy some more meat sticks. "Or I can check out the northern mountain while I am out," I said as I used Wind-Walker and ran above the forest, seeing the mountains. I used Eagle Eyes to enhance my vision since it uses less mana than just putting it into my eyes. I could see a massive barrier covering the mountains. Confused, I put some pressure under my step, moving so fast it seemed like I teleported next to the barrier Touching it, I could sense some divinity in the barrier, a barrier probably made by the goddess to stop the dungeon monster until the heroes she summons get strong.
I wonder if I could contact this goddess, but that is for a letter. Looking down at the monster, I could tell they were at least as strong as a medium imp at best, not worthy of being a lesser demon. Looking past them, I could feel some strong being a bit past them. Looking over, I could see the seedy dungeons again, just some weak monsters. So those must be the bosses of the dungeon break, and why summon heroes for such weak monsters? What is the power scaling in this world?
But then the ground started shaking as a castle erupted from the ground. Sensing divinity, I looked up, seeing a being with horns and bat-like wings. I rushed at him without a single thought. He looked like most Western demon lords. The goddess lied to me. I pulled out Pollo as I sent an arch of magma at the being, who seemed startled at my attack as it blocked it calmly, but with my strength, the barrier was broken with ease, surprising the being as I appeared behind them, cutting off its wings, making it scream in pain as it plummeted down to the ground, smacking the barrier over the mountains.
Appearing under it, I grabbed the tail and slammed it on the ground from left to right repeatedly and used Mana-Drain to make it weak.
"PLEASE, MORTAL, I AM HARMLESS," it screamed in a hoarse voice.
Surprising me, I stopped knowing demons do not speak.
