Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 — Crowned by the Abyss

The darkness swallowed me whole.

No ground. No sky. No horizon.

Only endless, heaving pressure — as if the Abyss itself sought to crush me back into nothingness.

The System's voice, usually cold and sharp, now sounded distant, reverent, almost breathless:

[Abyssal Throne Trial: Initiated.][Objective: Conquer the Will of the Abyss.][Warning: Failure equals Death.]

I exhaled slowly, the Void Drake blood burning beneath my skin, my Mythborn core resonating with a deep, primal thrum.

From the shifting blackness, a figure emerged.

Not a monster.Not a god.

Me.

Or at least — a reflection of what I could become.A Ravro unchained by fear, fully ascended — a being whose very breath twisted reality.

Gold-scorched eyes. Wings like voidstorms. A crown of black flame.

He smiled at me, a terrible, sovereign smile, and raised a hand.

Reality shattered.

The first blow came faster than thought.A lance of pure annihilation aimed straight for my core.

I moved — barely. The lance grazed my side, burning a hole through the world behind me.

Pain flared, sharp and electric. The trial wasn't just about strength — it was a confrontation with my own destiny.

My future self would not yield.

Neither would I.

Roaring, I unleashed my power.

Voidfire exploded from my fists, black lightning clawed across the endless night, and my will surged forward like a tidal wave. I struck at the false king with everything I had — claw, fang, fire, fury.

He met me blow for blow, wordless and cold, like a mirror testing the edge of its own reflection.

Minutes? Hours? Years?Time blurred. Space folded. Every heartbeat became a battle for survival.

And slowly — slowly — I began to gain ground.

Every time my fist connected, the echo of my power grew stronger. Every time I refused to fall, the Abyss itself responded — whispering approval, folding around me like a living storm.

Finally, with a roar that shook existence, I drove my fist through the chest of my future self.

Black flame poured from the wound, drowning the false king.

He smiled one last time — proud, not defeated — and crumbled into ash.

The Abyss fell silent.

Then, like a tide reversing, the pressure vanished.

The darkness trembled.

Above me, towering and infinite, the true Abyssal Throne revealed itself — forged from the bones of dead stars, wreathed in endless night.

At its feet, a staircase of light unfurled.

The System's voice returned, softer, almost reverent:

[Trial Complete.][Crown of the Abyss: Acquired.][Abyss World Plane: Fully Awakened.][Congratulations, Ravro D. Flare. You are recognized as a True King.]

New power flooded me — not wild and chaotic, but deep, steady, absolute.Like an ocean I had always carried within me, finally remembering its name.

I climbed the staircase, one step at a time, each footfall echoing through the newborn world.

At the summit, I stood before the Throne.

It was not empty.

It had been waiting.

For me.

When I sat, the Abyss roared its approval.

The world bent, remade itself. Rivers of dark light twisted into new constellations. Mountains bowed. Storms knelt.

The Abyss had found its master.

And I — Ravro D. Flare — was crowned not by the hands of men, but by the will of existence itself.

[New Titles Unlocked!][Abyss King] — Authority over the Abyss World Plane and all beings within.[Void Drake Monarch] — Your Bloodline has transcended. — You have mastered the storms of your origin.[Mythborn Ascendant] — Destiny itself trembles before you.

[World Authority Unlocked: Command over Minor Domains within the Abyss World Plane.]

I opened my eyes — real, this time — and the throne beneath me pulsed with life.

Velra knelt before me, head bowed to the stone, crimson hair spilling like blood across the floor.

"My King," she whispered, voice trembling with awe and devotion.

I smiled

Not as the boy that entered the abyss but the man that will leave it.
