It was a hot summer day, the sun beating on Yuya yet not breaking a sweat on his way to the bus stop. "The bus comes at at 3:20 so we will be waiting a while," Yuya hearing his dad's words raises his hand and slightly looking at the sun, although he hated being in the cold he would prefer that over this any day.
Yuya scoffs and sits on the wooden bench that looks as though it's been in the same place for centuries, waiting for the bus to come his dad leans his back on the back side of the bench. "How's school?," his dad speaks while scrolling through his phone probably talking to one of his friends, "I'm got all A's and B's dad" Yuya responds tiredly and it's not because of the hot sun.
Yuya father glances behind him to look at Yuya slightly, "Why don't you try for extra credit? I'm not saying you have to but a challenge that will help you down the line can't hurt right?" Yuya's dad speaks with weak enthusiasm in his voice followed with a slightly concerned look. "I will get a trade, I plan on welding."
Yuya says responding almost immediately, sounding like a cut off causing him and his father to listen to the whispers of the silence before speaking again. "…. Your at least going to get a associate's degree," Yuya hearing his fathers will left no space for Yuya's own testament in the conversation.
Yuya stays down looking at the cars that pass by on the black concrete road thinking about a future where he has to go to school again, "that's nothing but just purely absurd," Yuya thinks to himself.
Yuya wasn't always like this, he used to love learning about math, reading and writing but at the age of 12 that changed after reading fantasy books, movies and Manhwas making him compare how fantastic it would be to live in a world like that fascinated him to a level where he would skip meals daily reading them and just thinking about what he would learn, forbidden knowledge, unknown worlds and gods with legends alike.
Suddenly as he's lost in his thoughts about where his life went wrong a loud hiss can be heard right in front of him from the compressed air in the bus wheels coming to a halt.
His father is already ahead of him Yuya follows suit and steps onto the bus, while his father pulls out a member's card to show the bus driver they are valid to ride the bus Yuya sneaks a peak to the side of him seeing the back of the bus is near full letting out a sigh of disappointment.
The bus driver let's Yuya and his father pass walking onto the bus and sitting on the side faced seats with a furry cushioned bottom and backrest, Yuya leans back into the seat getting comfortable.
Yuya eventually feels comfortable enough to close his eyes knowing he is next to his father. A few minutes have passed so he opens his eyes but gets hit with Anemia blinding his vision, seeing dotted spots and black swirls for only no more than 4 seconds.
He doesn't lose his composure as this was not rare but uncommon for Yuya due to his low iron. He leans down and rubs his face his arms being supported in place by his legs and looks up. "…...wha," Yuya's voice was cut off at the captivating sight in front of him.
