In the vast and boundless world, a realm a hundred times larger than the Earth we know, true miracles exist.
Divine power, magic, heretical gods, demons — all of them are real, tangible forces shaping existence.
This world is divided into five great continents.
Umbryss stands as one of these vast continents, shrouded in mist and ancient horrors.
Within its shadowed lands lie kingdoms such as Ythrene, Avaline, Zhyren, and Caer Thalas —
each a realm teeming with its own dark legends, fractured empires, and forbidden histories.
The world teems with countless species: humans, elves, dwarves, vampires, beastfolk, aberrations born of pure nature, and more yet unnamed.
It is a world soaked in miracles... and in blood.
---
Divine Powers and Outer Gods
The True Gods, born with the world itself, embody the purest elements: War, Wisdom, Love, Death, Life, and Creation.
Yet not all "gods" are native to this realm.
From the endless void beyond existence come the Outer Gods — unfathomable beings not bound by mortal logic or divine laws.
They exist in chaos, desire only amusement, and sometimes, they choose mortal pawns — Champions — to move across the board called "the world."
Unlike the True Gods, the Outer Gods can never truly die.
They do not weaken without faith, and their whims are as deadly as they are unpredictable.
---
Demons, Devils, and Aberrations
Beneath the surface, the Seven Great Sins spawned the Lords of the Abyss — the strongest of demons.
Demons evolve endlessly, fueled by hatred, desire, and corruption.
A Demon Lord at full strength can rival even a True God.
However, in this world there are also beings beyond demons — the Aberrations — creatures born of pure nature.
They cannot be slain by divine powers or magic easily. They obey no one and serve only the balance of nature itself.
Those who destroy nature invoke the wrath of Aberrations — an unstoppable doom.
Some Aberrations, called Wardens, protect ancient races like elves or spirits tied to the World Tree.
---
Religion and Faith
Each religion holds its own Sacred Relics — divine artifacts capable of performing miracles.
These relics vary — swords, crowns, rings, chalices — and can only be wielded by those chosen or proven worthy.
Some Popes and Archbishops plot in the shadows, caring more for power than the gods they preach.
Meanwhile, Outer Gods and Demons also distribute cursed relics among the mortals, blurring the line between salvation and damnation.
The world seethes with hidden battles for faith, relics, and the future itself.
---
The Great Calamity
Every ten years, the Gates of Hell crack open.
Demons flood into the world, and for one month, chaos reigns.
When the time ends, all demons are forcibly dragged back to the abyss — unless summoned again through forbidden rituals.
Despite the endless wars and cataclysms, nature always restores itself —
for the Aberrations, born from the world's own laws, will never allow its death.
---
In This World...
There are Heroes chosen by the True Gods.
There are Demon Lord born of suffering.
There are Saints bearing sacred scars and Dark Priests anointed by Outer Gods.
And at the heart of it all...
There is Froy, the Omen Child —
born under a black sun, under the gaze of a being forgotten even by the stars.
