Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 : Valentine's day special

Months had passed, and Yuto and Reina's friendship had grown

stronger.

They still bickered.

They still teased each other.

But something felt different now.

On Valentine's Day, Reina did something unexpected.

She handed Yuto a box of chocolates.

Yuto stared at it in disbelief. "Reina… you made these?"

Reina scoffed, crossing her arms. "Don't get the wrong idea.

We have plenty of chocolate at home, so I figured I should give some to someone

poor like you."

Yuto chuckled, shaking his head. "Of course. So generous of

you, Queen Reina."

He then pulled something from his pocket—a small pendant on

a thin chain.

Reina's eyes widened slightly.

"What's this?"

Yuto scratched the back of his head. "Just… a little

something for you."

Reina hesitated before taking it. She examined the pendant,

her fingers running over the smooth surface.

It was simple, but it felt warm.

She looked up at Yuto, her heart beating strangely.

But, of course, she wouldn't let him see that.

"Hmph. I suppose this is acceptable."

Yuto grinned. "Glad my gift meets your royal standards."

An Unexpected Proposal

Later that evening, Yuto invited Reina to hang out at the

park.

She agreed without hesitation.

They sat on a bench, watching the sky turn orange and pink.

As they chatted, a small boy selling roses approached them.

"Big brother, buy a rose for your girlfriend?" the boy asked

innocently.

Yuto's face turned red.

Reina raised an eyebrow, amused. "Well? What are you waiting

for?"

Without thinking, Yuto quickly bought a rose and handed it

to her.

Reina took it, twirling it between her fingers.

Then, she smirked.

"Is this your way of proposing to me, duffer?"

Yuto swallowed hard and gave a small nod.

For a moment, Reina said nothing.

Then, she turned, walking a few steps ahead—her back to him.

Just as Yuto thought she might reject him, she glanced over

her shoulder…

And smiled.

A beautiful, breathtaking smile.

"So… ready to date a superior queen?" she said playfully.

"Any disobedience will not be allowed."

Yuto laughed softly. "Yes, Your Majesty."

And just like that, their relationship changed forever.

A Change in Their Relationship

By now, Yuto and Reina's friendship had grown stronger.

They weren't just talking occasionally—they were spending

time together.

At first, Reina refused to call it 'hanging out'.

She called it "keeping the duffer in check."

But everyone could see the difference.

Even Kaido and Mei noticed.

"You two sure are close lately," Kaido smirked one

afternoon.

Mei nodded knowingly. "I never thought I'd see the day Reina

actually enjoys someone's company."

Reina clicked her tongue, rolling her eyes. "Shut up. It's

not like that."

Yuto chuckled. "Yeah, yeah, 'not like that.'"

The 'Not-A-Date' Date

One weekend, Reina texted Yuto.

Reina: "Meet me at the mall. Don't be late."

Yuto stared at his screen. "…Is this a date?"

Before he could overthink, Reina sent another message.

Reina: "And no, it's NOT a date. You're just keeping me

company."

Yuto smirked. "Right… just company."

At the Mall

When Yuto arrived, he spotted Reina leaning against a

railing, scrolling through her phone.

She wore a simple yet stylish outfit—a casual hoodie over a

skirt.

Yuto froze for a second.

"Why does she actually look… cute?"

Before he could say anything, Reina glanced up.

"You're late, duffer."

Yuto checked his phone. "…I'm five minutes early."

Reina scoffed. "Whatever. Let's go."

Moments That Made the Day Special

 Café Stop:

Reina ordered her drink. Yuto paid before she could stop

him.

She glared. "I was going to pay."

Yuto sipped his coffee. "Too slow."

Reina huffed. "…Fine. Next time, I'm paying."

Clothing Store:

Reina held up a jacket. "This would look good on you."

Yuto raised an eyebrow. "…Are you trying to dress me up?"

Reina smirked. "Someone has to fix your fashion sense."

 Arcade Battle:

They played a fighting game. Yuto won.

Reina crossed her arms. "You cheated."

Yuto laughed. "It's a game, Reina."

She shoved his arm. "…Rematch."

The Moment That Changed Everything

At sunset, they sat by a fountain, watching the sky turn

orange.

Yuto stretched. "Today was fun."

Reina hesitated. "…Yeah. It wasn't bad."

Yuto glanced at her.

"She looks… different. Softer."

Without thinking, he reached out and flicked her forehead.

Reina snapped her head toward him. "Did you just—?!"

Yuto grinned. "You looked too serious. Lighten up."

For a second, Reina looked ready to kill him.

Then—she laughed.

A real, genuine laugh.

Yuto stared.

It was the first time he had ever seen Reina laugh like

that.

And somehow, it made his heart beat faster.

The Aftermath: Kaido & Mei's Teasing

The next day, Kaido and Mei cornered Yuto.

Kaido smirked. "So… heard you and Reina had a 'not-a-date'

date."

Mei giggled. "I bet she bullied you the whole time."

Yuto rubbed his neck. "It wasn't a date, okay?"

Kaido raised an eyebrow. "And yet, you're blushing."

Yuto froze.

Mei clapped her hands. "Awww, Yuto has a crush."

Yuto groaned. "I hate you both."
