Chapter 6 - Bob encounters a stroke of luck or does he?

15 years earlier…

A photo falls out of the album.

Bob remembers clearly this photo. It is a photo of a man, chiseled with muscles like a David by Michelangelo.

He remembers wondering…

Who is that?!

Then, mysteriously, when they were out shopping for baby formula, which had all been sold out due to excessive stockpiling by crazy middleaged ladies, the house along with the photo mysteriously went up in smoke. The photo disappeared, but Bob never forgot that image, one of peak alpha… dominance. Or so he believed. The Drillin family moved to another house, and the photo was forgotten.

___

As he grew up, one day he asked his mother about it.

Mum, do you remember or know of… a really muscular, chiseled guy in the family?

Mum thought before answering.

"I don't think so? Maybe you can ask your father."

Later that night, Kat asked her hubby Dylan about it.

Dylan Drillin shook his head thoughtfully. There were some things back in the day called memes (he pronounced it mee mees) and it's possible he might be talking about the fabled Gigachad. Who was rumored to actually exist.

Dylan shook his head as he sucked his e-pipe.

But who knows?

___

Bob tossed and turned.

In his dream, he saw the man with the muscles. He was smiling at him, a calm, confident, earthy smile, full of strength and empowerment.

His mouth opened and Bob could make out some words.

But there was no sound.

I can't hear you! Bob screamed internally!

Would this be one of those infuriating plot devices where you would only find out what he said like 300 Chapters later only to find out it didn't even matter?!

I don't have time for this!

Grinding his teeth, fortunately he spied a remote, and quickly pressed rewind, unmute, and then play.

Immediately the dream was flooded with rich Dolbee digital surround sound.

Not bad.

"Bob."

The muscular man [Gigachad] spoke earnestly.

"I don't have much time. There is something you need to know. One day it will all be clear. You must… take the burden…

*Crackle* the dream was losing connection. Bob could feel that he was about to wake up.

"Bob… you must… fulfill…

The man's image began to fade.

…Your destiny…"

Bob awoke in a cold sweat.

What the hell was that?!

___

The moment the Reverend snatched the SD card, Sally felt a chill run down her spine.

She wrapped her Burberri coat closer around her perfect figure and held Jasper closer for extra warmth.

She sighed as she put away her Advanced Calculus textbook, next to the complete works of Shakespeare, Pride and Prejudice, and her Medical and Law postgrad textbooks.

There was always tomorrow, she reflected, to cure cancer.

___

Bob shook his head. What had that manly man been trying to tell him?

No matter. The training needed to continue. For now, his priority was to continue improving his genetic quality, whilst simultaneously finding Vol. 2 of the Art of Rizz.

Fortunately, he had a lead.

The old grandpa!

It was clear that he was affiliated with the school in some way. And as he knew from the stories, once the old grandpa had left the bait, he would eventually come back to harvest, and probably try to make him a disciple so he would have unlimited achievements. Deep down, he knew the old grandpa was also searching for a way to leave his mark on the world, and it was likely Bob was his aim. He would have to ask the school secretary about it tomorrow.

In the meantime, he continued to practice the lessons imparted from the first volume, which included breathing techniques, body language, word painting, tone inflection, and so on.

Meanwhile he was also training Goku and Roger to help everyone become better, doing pushups, sit-ups, squats aiming to break his PB, and also researching cryogenics and epigenetics optimisation for genetic quality.

As such he had made some breakthroughs.

Just like diamonds are formed under pressure

People grew through adversity.

A a result, in order to improve his resilience, he had begun Adversity training with his friends.

The physical part was somewhat covered with the push-up sit-up and squats trifecta , but social mental and spiritual challenges also needed to be trained.

As a result, he began visualizing being around very rich and snobby people who wouldn't even give him the time of day.

"Bruh? Why are you so poor?!"

"What do you mean you don't own an island?!"

Bob gritted his teeth and endured.

"No!" He muttered. "I'll show you!"

When his teacher set him 1 chapter of maths homework, he would do 2.

Studying English? He would read not just the set text, but also the rest of the author's works as well.

Better faster stronger. Whilst some people might be full of themselves, Bob knew this was just the minimum. He had to push his limits and improve his genetic quality, or his DNA would die out.

This was the cold fact of life.

Bob

He still had a long way to go.
