Chapter 1 - Chapter 001 – Solo Dragon Ryo

We are in the year 4078, in Pequi, the world we live in, which has undergone many changes—all thanks to the technological advancements that have occurred over time. In the past, people suffered from incurable diseases that today already have solutions. However, these advancements have been detrimental to the continuation of the legends and myths of the past. Nowadays, people no longer believe in such things and have left them to eternal oblivion.

But how rude of me—let me introduce myself. My name is Jonh Dragon, and I am a semi-human. Before you ask what that means, let me give you a quick historical recap of our ancestral origin. Semi-humans have lived on Earth for a very long time—since prehistoric times. Semi-humans are beings blessed by animal spirits who can transform into their chosen spirit partner. The most skilled among us can even shift into hybrid forms—half-human, half-animal. The ancient Egyptian gods were, in fact, semi-humans. Today, I'm part of an organization responsible for controlling evil semi-humans who aim to take over the world. Today is my first day on a mission, and I'm currently waiting for the train to take me to the initiation conference.

Jonh: – I'm already late for the acceptance conference... Sam's going to skin me alive.

But something feels off in this situation… a girl is being followed by three men, radiating clearly evil intentions. Semi-humans can sense the energy of different beings around them and are able to distinguish their emotions.

Far away, a man dressed in black watches Jonh closely, observing his every move. Suddenly, one of the men grabs the girl by the arm and drags her into a completely empty alley. Jonh, seeing what was happening, couldn't stay idle and rushed to protect her from the aggressors.

Jonh: – Stop right there! Didn't your mother teach you how to treat a woman?

Suspect 1: – This is none of your business, kid. Go back where you came from!

The girl, crying, begged Jonh for help. He couldn't just stand by and went after the man. But something unexpected happened: the guy moved at an inhuman speed. It was like he was a semi-human. Suddenly, one of his arms took on the appearance of a leopard's paw. That's when Jonh realized he was facing another semi-human. In that moment, Jonh was at a disadvantage—he hadn't yet been chosen by an animal spirit.

But a voice echoed inside him, telling him to keep going, that everything would be fine, and he could trust it. With that, he charged forward—and realized his speed had increased exponentially, nearly matching the suspect's.

Jonh managed to land a powerful punch in the suspect's stomach, sending him flying against a wall. But then he noticed a wound in his own side. Looking around, he saw the other two men—the suspect's companions—appear. They were semi-humans too: one from the crocodilian class, the other falcon class.

Suspect 2: – Looks like our little hero turned out weak in the end. If I had attacked with full strength, you'd be dead by now, boy.

Suspect 3: – Don't talk like that—he managed to knock out Silva, and he was nearly as strong as you. Don't forget that, idiot.

But deep down, suspect 3 realized Jonh couldn't be just any semi-human. He noticed a strange mark on Jonh's right shoulder. Shocked, he said:

Suspect 3: – That's impossible... He can't be... This semi-human is actually a…

Before he could finish the sentence, a dark figure emerged from the shadows. It was a wolf semi-human, fully transformed into his animal form, leaping on top of him. Moments later, he shifted into his hybrid form, standing upright and speaking human language.

Suspect 2: – Who are you?! What kind of monster just showed up?!

The second suspect trembled in fear. The aura that the creature emitted was terrifying. His yellow eyes glowed under the moonlight, and his black fur made the scene even more dreadful.

The wolf semi-human moved in an instant, grabbed Suspect 2's head in one hand, and smashed it against the ground with overwhelming force. He then approached Jonh, healed his wounds, and woke him up with a slap across the face.

Jonh: – Mr. Sam, I'm sorry for being late. I saw the situation and just couldn't ignore it...

Sam: – You idiot! What were you thinking, fighting three powerful semi-humans?! What do you have in that head of yours, peanut butter?

Jonh: – This will never happen again. I promise. You can count on me.

Sam: – Jonhson Dragon, stop talking and head to the conference immediately!

Jonh: – Alright… but please, take care of the girl. She's scared after what she witnessed.

Sam let out a roar so loud and powerful it shattered every glass window in the area.

Sam: – MOVE IT, KID! BEFORE I SEND YOU THERE WITH A PUNCH IN THE FACE!

As Jonh headed toward the conference, he didn't notice the masked figures emerging from the shadows—men in black clothing and white animal masks with glowing red eyes.

Sam gave a firm order:

Sam: – Erase the girl's memory and handle these semi-humans. No evidence of this event must remain. This is to remain strictly confidential.

The girl fainted from fear after everything she had witnessed.

Masked Agents: – Yes, sir. Your command is our order. It will all be done as you say.

On his way to the conference, Jonh couldn't stop thinking about that girl… and also the soft voice he had heard during his moment of crisis. It was as if something greater was waiting for him. As if he were the key to uncovering hidden secrets from his past.

As if he were important to someone… someone special—someone different from the reality he knew as a semi-human.
