After the teacher left, Kanzaki glanced over at Yonezu, who was already packing up his things to leave the classroom.
"What was that all about?" Kanzaki asked.
Yonezu looked at him. "What was what?"
"The stuff you wanted to ask the teacher," Kanzaki clarified.
"Oh… nothing interesting. Just some things that were bugging me," Yonezu replied.
Before they could continue, a girl standing at the front of the class spoke up. "Hey, everyone! Since we're all going to be together for the next three years, why don't we start by introducing ourselves? My name's Ichinose Hinami-nice to meet you all!"
As soon as she finished, Yonezu didn't waste any time. He slipped out of the classroom, looking like he was ready to explore the school. From the way he was headed, it seemed like he was making his way toward the second or third-year areas.
He hadn't gone far when he heard someone call his name from behind.
"Hey… Yonezu, wait up!" Kanzaki called out.
Yonezu turned around. "What's up?"
"The class is trying to get to know each other. Why don't you come back?" Kanzaki suggested.
"Nah, not right now. I need to check on a few things first," Yonezu said.
He started to walk off again, then added, "Since you know my name, just introduce me to the class if they ask."
"You sure?" Kanzaki asked.
"Yeah. I want to check out the upperclassmen first. The teacher seemed a bit secretive. I might get charged if I ask something important."
Kanzaki looked confused. "What do you mean, 'get charged'? And secretive? Are you talking about the points thing?"
Yonezu sighed. "You know what, just come with me. I want to get this done quickly-I still need to check my room and buy some stuff after."
So the two of them walked together.
"So, are you going to tell me what's going on?" Kanzaki asked as they walked.
Yonezu sighed again. "Sorry, it's still too early. I'm not really awake yet."
He continued, "What do you think about the 100,000 points we got?"
Kanzaki looked unsure. "I'm not really sure what you mean. But yeah, it's a lot. A hundred thousand yen for a student every month? That's kind of insane."
Yonezu raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean, every month?"
Kanzaki replied, "What? The teacher said the points would be distributed monthly, right?"
"Yeah, but she didn't say we'd get 100,000 points every month," Yonezu pointed out.
Kanzaki looked puzzled. "Wait… what?"
"That's what's bugging me," Yonezu said. "I'm not sure if asking something sensitive could get me charged, or maybe even the whole class."
Kanzaki looked even more confused. "Get charged? Just for asking a question?"
Yonezu explained, "Yeah, but I'm not sure. She did say you could buy anything at this school-including information. And since she wouldn't tell me what 'PPT' stands for, maybe you have to pay for it, or maybe the conditions just aren't met yet."
Kanzaki looked skeptical. "No way, right? Aren't you overthinking this?"
"Hopefully," Yonezu said. "But look at this." He pointed at a board nearby.
It read:
2nd Year
Class A = 800 CPoints
Class B = 600 CPoints
Class C = 400 CPoints
Class D = 200 CPoints
Yonezu asked, "Now, what's 'CPoints'? We've got PPT, and now there's CPoints."
Kanzaki studied the board. "Maybe it stands for Class Points?"
"Could be. Then maybe PPT is Personal Points," Yonezu guessed.
He kept looking at the board. "It'd be nice if we could just ask the seniors. Looks like they're still in class. Let's go check out the third-year area."
