Chapter 8 - CHAPTER EIGHT

Last night...

"You are not my type," he announced with his eyes closed.

"Same. You are not, and you would never be," Alva replied bluntly.

Despite Alva's blunt rejection, Cody's expression remained neutral. His only reaction was a slight raise of his brow and a casual "Oh really?"

"I'm sure you're not," she confirmed, shaking her head.

But instead, this happened...Cody stood confidently as he approached Alva.

Why is he coming? Doesn't he know I just have a towel and I'm in a… ack…

"Oh—don't move any further!"

She looked up at him and said, "I'm not interested. You're not my type," but he didn't back down. Instead, he took a step closer to her, his eyes locked on hers.

He placed his hand on the wall beside her, his arms brushing against her.

"Am I not your type?" he asked, his voice low and smooth. He leaned in closer, his face inches from hers. Her eyes darted back and forth while her breath caught in her throat. His lips were almost touching hers, and she could feel the warmth of his breath on her skin.

"I'm not," he repeated softly, his voice echoing in the room, all over her face.

Suddenly, she looked up at him with a hint of uncertainty and said, "I… I don't know."

Cody smirked, a hint of amusement dancing on his lips. Alva's eyes narrowed, her face just inches from his.

Then, suddenly, Alva smirked back, her eyes flashing with defiance. Cody quickly chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. With a sudden movement, he stepped back, while his smirk faded into a neutral expression.

"You know what? I'm not into any girl," he said, his face neutral and casual.

Her eyes widened, her mouth parted as she realized Cody was walking away.

He's definitely straight. No… is he gay?

Alva's eyes gazed blankly, her mind shutting off as she tried to remember what had happened last night—like how she wore his shirt. But nothing came back, except the fact that he almost kissed her.

What really happened last night? Did she get drunk and sleep with him? And he gave her his shirt?

She really needed an explanation for all this mess.

A big restaurant...

"I love you," Sophie uttered, her eyes shining with a big heart.

"I love you too," Kyle responded with a soft kiss on her lips, while Sophie responded back to him with a valid kiss.

A girl with striking features appeared, disrupting the romantic atmosphere. Her name was Rose, and she was a vision of beauty. Her long eyelashes framed her slender, dark blue eyes, while her hair fell down to her shoulder, with a loose strand framing her face.

Rose's presence interrupted their sweet, wild wet kisses. Sophie frowned upon sighting her, while Kyle looked annoyed.

Who could be this bitch ruining this sweet couple's faces, uh?

Rose, aware of the tension, approach Kyle with a with a confident smirk.

"Sweethie. You're really something else, Kyle," she said, her voice laced with a hint of sarcasm. "I didn't know you're into public displays of affection."

Sophie's face turned red with anger, her eyes blazing with fury. She tried to intervene but was cut off by Rose.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in being part of this little love angle. I heard you brought him up. I was into him, and you knew that before opening your mouth… Oh shit…" she paused, nodding her head.

"Rose, stop this madness," Kyle said firmly.

"Sorry, Kyle. It's too late to stop," Rose replied, her voice trembling. "Sophy, you know what? I want to share a deep secret of mine from when I was in high school."

She looked around, her eyes lingering on each face in the room. "Do you want to hear it?"

"Rose, leave," Kyle said harshly.

"Oh, stop. Don't hurt my feelings," she said, raising her hands in mock surrender. "I wasn't talking to you."

She turned back to Sophy. "So, Sophy, do you want to hear it?" she asked gently.

Sophy stayed silent, but her eyes said it all.

"Okay, you want to hear," Rose whispered, as Kyle remained quiet"...and you're too shy to say it. But I'm still saying it. Kyle was my high school crush. I even wrote him a letter, and he didn't respond—except that bloody Cody did. So, there's nothing going on between us."

"Rose? You gave Cody the letter?" Sophy asked, stunned.

"Yeah, I did. And no sh*t, in fact, ask him yourself. He knows the details more than anyone else."

Sophy managed to stay calm, gently removing Kyle's hand from hers. She folded her arms, as if expecting this answer.

"That was then. Why did you ask if I was jealous or something?"

"I'm…" Sophy started.

"Rose, leave now," Kyle interrupted, his voice firm.

"Okay, okay, I'm leaving. But before I go, I want to say something—one final thing. Don't start overthinking because of Cody. First, I'm not into men. I'm gay. I have a girlfriend who i love now. And second, I'm resign."

"Why, have you fallen in love with me now?" Sophy teased.

"Ew, gross! So are we clear now?"

"I take that as a yes," she said. "Oh, and if you want to continue your kiss... and Sophy, you're a good kisser." She smiled and walked out.

"Why are you staring at her?" Sophy asked.

"I'm not."

"Do you want her to walk you home?"

"Stop."

"I should stop? Because you pity her for not loving her then?"

"What's wrong with you, Sophy?"

"See? I'm not okay."

"What—you know I love you?"

"Arrgh! Stop playing dumb. You know what's happening."

"What?"

"You know what? I'm done—with you and Cody's name in everything about you. I can't." she leaves.

Cody's Mansion

"Why are you here?"

"Nothing, just came to see you," Kyle said.

"Okay," he pulled off his tie and his scarf, revealing his chest and abs.

Kyle just kept staring.

"Stop staring at my abs, you bloodthirsty gay," Cody said, smirking and covering his chest with his hand.

"Nah," he laughed softly while his dimples showed on his cheeks.

"So why are you here?"

"Just to hear about your love story. Have you seen a girl yet?" he asked.

"Yes."

"Who is she?"

"I literally see every girl every day."

"Ahh, she! I'm talking about the girl you admire, you know, the one you've seen lately."

"Scoff, hell no! I liked the rumor of being a gay."
