Reyna thought that she could live peacefully for some days in Camp Half-Blood and return to Camp Jupiter after everyone has recovered from the injuries they received during battle with Gaia's minions at Camp Half-Blood . But she was wrong . She realized that there was no such thing as peace in the life of a demigod . She started having a dream from her mother Bellona, the Roman war goddess telling her to go and visit her sister Hylla the queen of Amazons . She pretty much ignored it at first though she had a strong desire inside her to go and check upon her sister who escaped alive after their battle with Orion, Reyna couldn't ignore her duties as Roman Praetor . Her people needed her particularly at this time after losing some of their comrades in the war and also as their other Praetor Frank did not have much of a experience of being a Praetor . Sure , He lead a legion of Ghosts at temple of Hades in Epirus and defeated Gaia's minions, She needed to make sure that he was more reliable like Jason .
Half of her wished that Jason would become Praetor again, but Jason revealed that he had another important job of being Pontifex Maximus and to build shrines of some minor gods . Reyna at least hoped that she might convince Percy Jackson the son of Poseidon to take the role of Praetor, But even he insisted that Frank should be the praetor . Every one seemed to be alright with Frank . Just when she was starting to accept her life with Frank as other Praetor, She started having the dreams from her mother . Before the date of their departure to Camp Jupiter, She contacted Annabeth the person she trusted and liked the most in the Camp Half-Blood . She explained her entire dream to Annabeth
"What do you think of it" Reyna asked.
"Reyna , I am not a Roman and I don't know much about your mother" answered Annabeth.
"Just tell me what you think of it " persisted Reyna
"Well , you know the messages from Gods are never to be ignored especially those who from the ones who care about you . So I suggest you go to your sister and see the problem yourself. Your mother would not persist you until something important is going on" concluded Annabeth.
Reyna stared across the Athena Parthenos "Thanks Annabeth".
"Any time for you Reyna." said Annabeth
Reyna did not sleep well that night . She still dreamed about her mother . The next morning , Romans departed for Camp Jupiter . Reyna planned that they would reach Camp Jupiter and then she would depart for Seattle where her sisters head quarters was located . But the Romans seemed to want to stop at every possible place and explore it like regular tourists . Finally Reyna had enough she called for an emergency meeting of the centurions and praetors . She hoped that everyone would agree her decision to move fast to the camp but Hank from third cohort was the first to complain
"Why should we move so fast Reyna?" protested Hank.
Reyna answered carefully "Well, you know we were a away from the camp for a lot of time we don't know the current situation at the camp and it would be better if we hurry " .
"But the Lares..." Hank tried to protest but Reyna was expecting the same answer immediately chided in saying "The lares are the only protectors left in the camp aside from Terminus and there is no saying what Gaia must have planned for Camp Jupiter also, we are a lot of half-bloods . We must have alerted almost every monster within a mile . If we stop at every other place, We would be soon attacked . So it is best for us to return to camp as fast as possible " completed Reyna and stared at the centurions .
All of them looked dumbstruck . It was Hazel who first responded "With the defeat of Gaia the monsters wouldn't dare to attack the camp and if anything attacks us we all are prepared to face them." Reyna understood that what Hazel said was true and it is for her own benefit that she wanted to go to camp fast and she did not want the campers to suffer for the sake of her . She finally decided her course of action .
"Alright you can come to camp after you had your full . I am leaving the convoy at Denver . I have an important task to do" said Reyna and waited for the response from the senators . But none came out . When she looked at their faces, she was taken aback. Everyone was looking with utmost sadness . When Reyna told them that she had a task appointed by her mother, Everyone breathed a sigh of relief .
Dakota immediately asked "Reyna you aren't saying that you are going on a quest are you" . "I don't know at all . I just should go there " said Reyna .
"Well then you shouldn't go alone . I am coming with you" said Dakota . Before Reyna could process what the centurion said, Dakota quickly added "It is the duty of a Roman to protect other Roman . I will come with you . Besides, I always wanted to go on a quest". Reyna had no choice but to accept Dakotas proposal . They left the Romans at Denver and Reyna handed over the responsibilities to Frank .
Reyna never thought that she would go to the Amazons Headquarters without invitation from her sister, But she was left with little choice . Dakota never questioned the way Reyna took in Seattle and didn't even stop when Reyna started going into the headquarters which she found out easily .
As soon as Reyna reached the lobby, She spotted an Amazon . She signaled for Dakota to remain quiet and went to the Amazon .
"What do you want Praetor?" questioned the Amazon.
"I am here to see Hylla the queen of Amazons on a personal matter " replied Reyna .
"Very Well follow me"
The Amazon started walking deeper into the warehouse. As Reyna expected, She was escorted directly to Hylla . Her sister still looked worn out from their battle with Orion . But something was amiss . Reyna immediately spotted it . The Belt which her sister wore when she was queen was not around her waist . For a fleeting instant Reyna thought that her sister resigned from the post of The queen of Amazons . No she immediately thought that her sister never lets an opportunity to become stronger slip through her hands . "What happened to your belt" she asked her sister
"It was lost during the battle with Orion . We don't know who but mother told me that it was in Underworld . I need your help in retrieving it back to amazons"
"Alright I understand everything you can't go to retrieve it because your enemies cannot know that you had lost your most prized possession and the other Amazons are too tired from the battle . So you need me to go and retrieve it ."concluded Reyna. Hylla smiled at Reyna's sense if grasping things.
"If it is really in Underworld retrieving it would be difficult . We need someone who knows his way through Underworld." said Dakota.
"Yes, I know. That is why I took the pleasure of choosing third companion for your quest . Bring him here" shouted Hylla.
Reyna didn't know whom to expect but when she heard the muffled shouting of 'Leave me Alone you stupid women' , She immediately guessed who their other companion was and she wasn't wrong.
