December 25th 1963… The Day of Black Christmas.
It should have being just an ordinary holiday for the lives of the world. Christmas holidays with all its festivities and jubilation, friends and family spreading good cheer But it all went the direct opposite direction.
On that faithful day, the gates opened. And millions died. The global economy dropped to an all-time low.
Australia, the world down under, was annihilated.
Most of South America was gone.
The Northern African and the Sahara desert region had turned into hot beds of destruction.
That day became what was known to be the Day of Black Christmas.
What are gates you might ask?
Gates are inter-dimensional boundary doors that connect pathways between two dimensions. Gates were essentially space doors that opened our worlds to other parallel universes, filled with an unknown energy known as Quantum-Ether or Quather. Quather caused all things around them to mutate and evolve, turning animals to Evolved Beasts or Evo-Beasts, Trees and plants to large monstrosities, and even people.
People turned to what they called Ascendants, gaining extraordinary powers and superhuman abilities no mortal would normally wield. These Ascendants banded up together to form guilds that defended and invaded into these gates. Ascendants soon grew in number and in strength, been able to form teams and guilds all around the world were gates opened.
To be an ascendant meant a high level of power, but also higher level of responsibility. Due to the state of the world at the time, the Ascendants banded together to form four major continental alliances that not only sought to take down gates, but also control the resources from them. They included:
The United American Front
The African Coalition
The European and Russian Solace Forces
The Wall of the East.
These countries had to drop national and international grievances in order to fight together for the safety of mankind. But soon, strife began to set in, and soon competition.
That competition would soon be toppled by the arrival of the first S-class ascendants... Soon the strings of power were held by one or more strong persons. Though a good change, it made some families stronger politically and socially.
In fact there were so little S-class, it was a ratio of one to a hundred million.
But there was one S-class who was different...
