Chapter 6 - Asian Man Scammed Celestial Fox Maiden

Chapter 6 - Asian Man Scammed Celestial Fox Maiden

"I know where Xiao Han Ce is."

Jin Yu's expression changed. Her confident smile was replaced with an angry grimace, and her killing intent soared to heaven.

"Who are you?! And where is he?!"

Fu Tong didn't bother hiding his background as he had no other options for a better explanation. He also poked at Jin Yu's trauma.

"I'm from a dimension higher than the divine sage realm. A mere pushover immortal knight's information and karma coins are trivial things to me."

While Fu Tong taunted Jin Yu, he created a hundred more gold coins in his cloth sleeves and sprayed them on the market, yet nobody dared to collect them.

Jin Yu's face darkened for a moment. She deeply inhaled and adjusted her posture. Facing Fu Tong seriously, she shot another question.

"And what happened to your cultivation base if you're so great… sir?"

Fu Tong grinned. "Will you believe me if I tell you that I've just taken over this mortal body today? This world is quite barren compared to my realm. I can't possibly absorb such polluted Qi and accidentally destroy this trashy brittle shell, can I?"

Jin Yu nodded as it made some sense, but she found Fu Tong's previous actions suspicious and illogical for someone from a higher dimension. She probed him.

"I saw you bow your head several times. If you were so great, why did you tarnish your dignity? Why are you revealing yourself now?"

Fu Tong scoffed, "Do you believe these garbage Loose Immortals here are smart enough to differentiate between a commoner and a reincarnator from a higher realm? I have no time to waste explaining myself to some ants! Listen here, little girl, I'm on a mission, and I have less than a month to complete! Bring me to the Divine Cloud Sect so that I can infiltrate that place!"

Jin Yu narrowed her eyes. His answer so far made sense, but as the city lord with a population of 100,000 celestial foxes behind her, she refused to bow down to a shady person like Fu Tong.

"You haven't answered my previous question yet. Where is Xiao Han Ce?"

Xiao Han Ce was the name of the main villain in chapter 3. This Immortal Knight, aka the fourth-rank immortal, was her nemesis who killed her parents and slaughtered 20,000 of her kin. Because of him, she and her subordinates fled the immortal realm and took refuge in this mortal world.

Fu Tong replied calmly, "That trash is still lurking at the Starlight Tamer Guild."

"…That guild."

Starlight Tamer Guild—This villain organization was a powerhouse, which recruited all beast and monster tamers in the immortal realm. As the realm implied, many high-ranked immortals guarded this place. At the top of the echelon resided a saint, who boasted the strength of a realm above the peak immortal stage.

Meanwhile, Jin Yu's strength belonged to the Immortal Soldier Stage or the 3rd rank of the immortal realm. It was too early for her to challenge a saint or her nemesis at the moment.

Fu Tong reminded her, "Don't bother going after him as you are now. You will get yourself killed."

"…"

Jin Yu gnashed her teeth, frustrated and enraged by her powerlessness. Her thoughts were full of fake scenarios, where she tortured the evil saint who attempted to turn her entire race into pets.

Meanwhile, Fu Tong hadn't opened his mental eyes yet. Behind the mask, he sweated profusely because of the anxiety.

He navigated through the conversation by abusing the game's lore and secrets, which could only be found in Wikipedia pages and developers' interviews. Fu Tong never stopped praying that the devs didn't screw up the heroine's backstory.

Fortunately, Jin Yu bought it. She swallowed her anger and lightened her expression.

"Then, sir… I shall name the price of your request, I hope you can help me kill Xiao Han Ce."

Fu Tong frowned. Fortunately, the mask hid his expression. He racked his brain and calculated.

First, with his current strength and game mods, he couldn't possibly kill the chapter 3's main villain. He couldn't even defeat the first chapter's filler goons with his current strength.

Secondly, his system was still weak, and there was no guarantee what the mission system would unlock for him in the future. He vaguely remembered that the infinite carrying weight mod was something he made during his early days but was uncertain if the next unlockable mods would follow the creation date's order.

And lastly, to kill Xiao Han Ce, they needed to distract the saint away from the guild. Again, Fu Tong lacked the resources and strength to do so.

As the odds were against him, he could only bid for time. Fu Tong faced Jin Yu and negotiated.

"How many years can you wait for your revenge?"

Jin Yu bellowed, "As soon as possible!"

"How about 10 years?"

Jin Yu's eyes widened, overjoyed. A bright smile emerged on her face. "Really?! 10 years?! That quick?!"

Fu Tong gulped and almost smacked his forehead. He recalled that celestial foxes were born immortals, and the weakest of them could live for over 20,000 years without cultivating or consuming a lifespan extension pill. To them, 10 years was the same as 10 days. He could have requested for longer.

"10 years at the quickest. It may extend to 100 years, depending on how busy I will be." Fu Tong coughed and corrected himself.

"That's good enough!" Jin Yu turned around and ordered her female underlings. "Quick! Go fetch me Karmic Papers!"

Again, Fu Tong almost coughed blood. Karmic Papers were special stationary items, often used in official trade agreements. The persons who signed the papers would be bound by karma. Anybody who broke the agreements stated in the papers would be killed by the karmic heaven's laws.

He sighed, baffled at how he had gotten himself into this mess. He wondered if taking a shortcut through an immortal clan in the early game was the right choice.

'Man, why did I have to spawn in the middle-game area? Couldn't the person sending me here spawn me in the usual newbie village or something?'
