Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The Birth of the Ultimate Nepo Baby

Konoha, Year 10.

Kazuku sat on the second-floor balcony, looking down at the bustling streets below.

He was a transmigrator, now in the body of a seven-year-old.

It had been exactly one year since he arrived in the world of Naruto.

His parents were ordinary people, never mentioned in the manga.

They didn't even have a surname.

His father was a carpenter, and his mother, four months pregnant with another child—unknown if it was a brother or sister.

Kazuku had no bloodline limit, nor had he attended a ninja academy.

After all, it was Konoha Year 10; the concept of a ninja academy might not even exist yet.

Barring any surprises, he would likely inherit his father's carpentry trade and live an ordinary life in this world.

But…

The First, Second, and Third Great Ninja Wars were still to come.

Even living an ordinary life wouldn't be easy.

Knock knock.

As Kazuku mulled over this for the umpteenth time, a knock came at the door.

"Come in," he said politely, shifting his gaze from the street to the door.

The wooden door creaked open.

It was his father, Kima.

"Kazuku, pack your things," Kima said bluntly. "We're leaving."

"Moving?" Kazuku asked instinctively.

He'd only been in this world for a year, with no memories of his predecessor. From occasional chats with his parents, he deduced they'd lived here for two years.

This was a small country with no ninjas, only samurai handling security.

Basic living conditions were met, and life wasn't exactly joyful, but it wasn't inconvenient either.

Kima's carpentry business was thriving, his reputation growing.

Every household in the village sought him for carpentry work.

Moving meant starting over from scratch.

"Why?" Kazuku couldn't help but ask, unable to fathom his father's reasoning.

Kima looked at his son, noting how much more mature and composed he'd become compared to a year ago.

About a year ago, Kazuku had drowned while swimming at the beach. Though rescued, he showed no signs of life.

Miraculously, he came back to life, but lost all his memories, not even knowing who he was.

Over the past year, Kazuku had been remarkably sensible, though he occasionally sighed.

Kima had kept some family matters secret.

But now…

"We just got a letter from back home. Your grandfather… he's terminally ill. Your second grandfather hopes we can return to the village," Kima explained, his tone heavy.

Grandfather?

Terminal illness?

Kazuku hadn't expected this sudden mention of a grandfather.

But if the man was dying, returning to see him wasn't unreasonable.

As a transmigrator hearing about this grandfather for the first time, Kazuku felt no emotional attachment.

No grandfather-grandson bond to speak of.

"What does Grandpa do? Is he a carpenter too?" Kazuku asked casually.

In his year here, he'd confirmed he had no special lineage, no background, no opportunities.

He was essentially a nobody.

Though it felt inappropriate, if his dying grandfather had some wealth, experiencing the life of a rich third-generation heir wouldn't be bad.

Wasn't it a classic trope in movies for the protagonist to learn their dying grandfather was a millionaire?

"Of course not. Though I became a carpenter because of your grandfather's influence… If I had to say, he's probably the village leader," Kima said.

"Though he's always been overshadowed by your domineering second grandfather."

Kima paused, thinking Kazuku should know his grandfather's name in advance. It would be too cruel for a terminally ill man otherwise.

"By the way, your grandfather's name is Hashirama Senju."

The moment Kima said the full name, Kazuku froze.

Huh?

Hashirama…

Senju?!!

The Hashirama Senju who said, "Nine-Tails, your power is too strong!" while holding the beast in his hand?

The Hashirama who, to prove his sincerity to Madara, nearly killed himself with a kunai, only for his granddaughter to shrug off Susanoo?

The Hashirama who single-handedly defeated all the Tailed Beasts, pacified the ninja world, and was hailed as the God of Shinobi?

You're telling me he's my grandfather?

"Wait, you mean the Hashirama Senju, the one who started the ninja era and became the First Hokage of Konoha, is my grandfather?" Kazuku's eyes widened, his mouth forming a huge "O."

Seeing Kazuku's shock, Kima felt relieved. "You actually remember your grandfather? That's great."

Due to his transmigration, Kazuku had the "amnesia" debuff.

Kima was nearly moved to tears!

But still, a grandfather who was practically the world's strongest?

Kazuku's mind was in chaos.

Wait…

This means…

"I'm actually a transmigrator with a prestigious lineage?"

"The First Hokage of Konoha, the God of Shinobi, the man who repeatedly crushed Uchiha Madara, is my grandfather!"

"The Second Hokage, the God of Ninjutsu who invented a slew of forbidden techniques—Yamata no Orochi, Edo Tensei, Mutual Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu—is my second grandfather!"

"The woman who mastered the Diamond Seal and sealed the Nine-Tails in her stomach is my grandmother!"

"And…" Kazuku swallowed hard, "my unborn sister is actually Tsunade, who invented the Strength of a Hundred Technique and became the Fifth Hokage!"

Holy crap.

Kazuku was floored.

Out of Konoha's seven Hokages, three were blood relatives.

He was the ultimate nepo baby!

But what Kazuku never expected…

Just as he was processing that Hashirama Senju was his grandfather…

A notification rang in his mind!

Congratulations, Host, for binding the Check-In System!

You've earned one check-in opportunity!

According to the prompt, every check-in granted a reward package.

Tailed Beast chakra, bloodline limits, ninjutsu…

All could be obtained from the reward packages!

The ultimate nepo baby plus a check-in cheat.

This was undeniably a protagonist's fate!

This sudden news was almost too much!

"I, the grandson of Hashirama, shouldn't I set a small goal of replacing Hiruzen Sarutobi as the Third Hokage by age twenty?"

Kazuku's lips curled into a grin as he began packing, ready to return to Konoha.

But before that…

"System, initiate the first check-in!"
