Chapter 21 - Protect

They set off early. The sky was just beginning to brighten, and the sun in the distance had just risen, its orange color casting a dazzling halo. Moreover, the road conditions were not good, as they had to cross mountains and valleys. Cheng Jiu and Xiao Shi were used to driving in such harsh conditions and found it hard to get used to. She was jolted around and couldn't help but feel sick.

She got carsick when she first came here, and now she's starting to feel dizzy again.

Xin Gan was afraid of causing them trouble, so she held back all the time. Even Asonli was better than her and didn't get carsick.

It was almost noon. Passing by a small town, Cheng Jiu said that he would first go to the town to find a restaurant for lunch and then continue his journey after the meal.

Cheng Jiu asked as he parked the car, "Do you have any dietary restrictions?"

Xiao Shi said, "Brother Jiu, I'm not picky about food. Don't you remember?"

Who asked you? Cheng Jiu said crossly.

Xiao Shi: "..." He glanced back at Xin Gan and immediately realized, feeling embarrassed to touch his head.

Cheng Jiu turned his head and looked at Xin Gan in the back seat. "What would you like to eat?"

Xin Gan was feeling extremely nauseating at this moment. Her face was deathly pale. Afraid of being noticed, she pretended to look outside the car and said, "Yes, it's all fine."

Then let's have beef noodles.

Xin Gan nodded and said, "OK."

At noon, there were many customers in the beef noodle restaurant. Several tables were set up at the entrance, all filled with people. The restaurant was bustling with noise. Waiters moved among the tables to serve dishes and clear the tables that had been used.

They picked a corner, which was exactly four positions.

The desktop is covered with a layer of grease and flies have flown by. The hygiene conditions are worrying.

Cheng Jiu glanced at Xin Gan and said, "Change to another one."

Xiao Shi had no objection and followed Cheng Jiu out.

Xinggan and Asonli followed behind.

Xin Gan passed by a seat where several men were sitting. Suddenly, she felt someone touch her skin behind her. Almost simultaneously, she turned around and saw the man who had touched her give a flirtatious smile and whistle at her.

Xin Gan's heart was immediately filled with a feeling of being disgusted, but she didn't want to argue with anyone. Just as she was about to hold back her anger, the man who had taken advantage of her sized her up and down and said, "Alone?" Would you like to sit down and have a drink with the guys?

The restaurant was bustling with people. Xin Gan had fair skin and was very beautiful. As soon as she entered, she attracted a lot of attention. Her facial features were clearly not those of a local. Even if they were not to the local's aesthetic standards, she was still pretty.

Xin Gan didn't follow out. Cheng Jiu turned around and saw Xin Gan standing next to a table, with several men sitting beside her looking at her with frivolous eyes. It was obvious what had happened. Seeing this scene, Cheng Jiu's face turned black instantly. Without a word, he strode in and pulled Xin Gan behind him. He was tall and strong, covering Xin Gan completely.

Cheng Jiu turned his head and asked Xin Gan, "What did they do to you?"

Xin Gan bit his lower lip: "They touched me."

Where did you touch?

"Sweet and sour, quick articulation: 'Hip.'" "

The next second, Cheng Jiu lifted his leg and kicked their table hard. The things on the table fell to the ground with a thud, scattering a mess all over the floor and spilling all the soup and water.

Those men were caught off guard and splashed all over, standing up and cursing.

Xiao Shi came in after Cheng Jiu kicked over the table. He quickly stood beside Cheng Jiu in a defensive posture.

Seeing that something was amiss, the owner of the restaurant rushed over to act as a peacemaker. Those men lost face and surely wouldn't count like this. They even pushed the owner away and spoke a long string of words in the local dialect.

They guessed that these outsiders didn't understand the local dialect and deliberately scolded them in the local dialect.
