As their horses descended the last hill leading to the eastern region of Lount, the air felt different—heavy and stale, as if life were reluctant to breathe in that place. A thin mist hung in the air, carrying the pungent scent of iron and decay.
Cecilia stared ahead, her eyes narrowing as she could sense that they had finally entered an area where the plague was in the air.
"Everyone, drink your Nerva's Blossom decoction now," she ordered sternly.
The healers and guards frowned slightly but could not refuse Cecilia's order. There was no way they could know that the pungent plant was the main component in the Elixir that neutralized all kinds of diseases. They only knew that Cecilia was so confident that the decoction would keep them safe from disease, even though they had to hold back their vomit as they drank the stinky liquid.
