I began to head home after another typical day at school. I normally walk from the small town my academy is located in. It's about 6:20 PM and it's a 20 minute walk to my house, normally extended by me trenching my way through a usually busy city. I began to tense myself up. Holding firmly onto my bag, filled with books and my usual school equipment. I began walking down the usual trail: a curvy, quiet road overgrown with vines, too dangerous for an automobile to drive in. After about 2 minutes, the road ends. Now, going through a rundown playground in an old city around here. Apparently, from what I have heard, the residents of this rundown area all moved to the nearby "paradise" called "Sidus", A city clenched in stars. According to legend, a group of Eclipsed powered this area with that Magic I mentioned earlier and thus, dense layers of Magic fill the air.
After I hopped around the playground, avoiding small obstacles such as slides clad in vines and ladder domes, I was finally in the city, or so I thought. . .really I was but—
"-?!"
Hundreds, if not thousands dead. Blood was scattered amongst the floor. My jaw, in horror, would drop, I had lost grasp on my bag. They were mutilated beyond repair, some were even hanging from windows via entrails. "What psycho would–", I tried to get my full sentence out but the horror that covered me in its cold, dark blanket of fear shut me up forcefully before I got the next word out. 'What psycho would do anything like this!?' I thought, finishing up my sentence in my head, I knew I had to get out of here. Windows were shattered, those usual stars were gone, doors were smashed in from the outside and the corpses lay around, some hanging from the buildings. I needed to find local authorities but what if the psychopath who's done this already took them out?! I pick my bag back up and I want to step onto the concrete road but, what if they're still around; whoever did this? I end up stepping forward, "The police station shouldn't be far from here." I mutter, my ears have perked down. To say I was scared would be an understatement. . .
I end up finding the police station after 4 minutes of trenching through this horrible horror scene out of some scary film in a theatre. I then walk in to find even the cops dead on the floor, heads smashed, torn limb from limb. I had to be in some bad dream before I heard grunting.
"-?" My ears perked up at the faint sound, hearing an officer yell out
"Kid! Get out of here!! That beast is still in the buil-!" In a quiet, awful moment, His head got skewered by a long, blood-clad blade. . . Crawling out from the shadows not a man, not a woman, but a monster. Its jaw hanging open, 3 rows of razor sharp teeth as its "head" was covered in belts besides its mouth, it had a very lanky body with a long blade on each of its nails that were like bear traps, white belts cover around his wrists, leading to gauntlets that connected to those nails. The beast soon took the man's body with his blade into its mouth, munching down as in a moment's notice, that poor man would become specs of dust. Seemingly, erased.
"More. Food.", it says in a rigid, unhinged voice, almost metallic, turning its head sideways before I immediately ran out of there. Trenching through the broken glass onto the street, 'No person can just run from this unaffected!' I thought, what I saw couldn't be real, it just couldn't! Suddenly, 'trip!', I fell down, I tripped. . .exhausted and scared, there was nobody, not a single soul that could help me as that thing lingers above my slim figure. I closed my eyes, ready to accept my fate then and there before, 'fwoosh!' A sudden burst of white energy exits my body, sending the creature spiraling back, barely however as it completely resists this random occurrence. "You. You're not like the others I've feasted on." Its mangled voice rang out, still ridged and rough with that metallic tune to boot. "Your Enogu is white. Not a single Practitioner I have feasted upon, even Eclipsed, has shown Enogu like this. . .You're special, boy. Your sacrifice will make me evolve past this current form I don!" It spoke of me like I'm a Practitioner, which I'm not. . . I've hardly even used Magic in my life! I skid back, still on my behind as he got up, my ankle got sprained when I tripped. I'm still scared. I couldn't even use this power, that sudden burst was all by accident! I was walking back further before a sudden beam of pastel blue magic flew past my head, piercing through that beast before it fell down to the floor, it became unconscious, hopefully for a while.
I turned around to the person behind me, a woman, the one who fired that shot of Magic, she looked at me with a sense of curiosity, taking note of my white hair, wolf ears and tail before asking, "You're not normal, are you?" The woman wore a regal suit, a pastel red tie merged with white accents of her attire, a coat hanging around her waist, with radiant pastel blue locks that had even brighter blue highlights before I responded. "I-I don't know.", I was worried, it was clear from my voice, worried, scared and unsure before her voice called out, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You're going to be okay. Head home, tell and vent to your parents or guardians if you must." She assures, as if she can tell from a mile away, things will be okay for me.
I began to turn around before I heard that monster arise from the floor, rushing towards me as the woman who temporarily saved my life jumped in-front of me. "Go! Now-" With a sweep from its hand, we both got knocked back into a building. 'Crash!!' Debris and rubble fell down harsh and gently on my face, his glasses cracked, my clothes slightly torn.
Everything faded away, turning black, "Come on, boy! Stay with me!" Her voice started to fall quiet and muffled. The monster in-front of us became blurry. . . Before it all simply cuts to black.
I fell unconscious.
