It was over.
The teleportation array was under control.
How would they get out now?
Danielle started to panic.
Zachary placed a steady hand on her shoulder and gently shook his head. "Don't be scared. I have a way. Did you forget what my ability is?"
Danielle still looked uneasy. "But since they know about your teleportation power, they'll try to stop you from using it."
That was a real problem. Zachary's brows furrowed.
While they hesitated, Long Xi returned to the room once again.
He looked around carefully. "No one's really here?"
Danielle's face was full of fear. Thank goodness they hadn't stepped out just now.
Even after Long Xi left again, the three still didn't come out.
Not until the later part of the night did Zachary leave first to scout the area. Once he confirmed it was safe, Danielle came out too.
To stay safe, Danielle left Rain inside the space.
"What do we do now?" she asked.
Danielle had never experienced anything like this growing up. She had no idea what to do next.
Zachary thought things through. "There aren't many people using the teleportation array right now. It's too easy to get noticed. We'll wait until morning."
Early morning was the busiest time for hunting teams to use the teleportation arrays. While risky, it would also be the easiest time to blend in.
Danielle's heart kept pounding—she was really scared.
Suddenly, something came to her mind. She clutched Zachary's sleeve tightly.
"Oh no… what about the team? If we leave, will the Ning family go after them for revenge?"
Zachary thought about how determined Long Xi had been to capture them earlier and couldn't say for sure it wouldn't happen.
"We'll go find them now. If they want to leave, we'll take them with us. If not… we'll ask Jinshan to look after them."
At worst, he'd owe Jinshan a big favor.
"Okay," Danielle agreed.
Under Zachary's teleportation, they escaped the heavily guarded villa.
They went to the team's home first. One of them had been unable to sleep ever since receiving Danielle's message.
The moment they saw Danielle and Zachary, they became alert. After hearing Danielle explain how serious things were, they immediately sensed danger.
Without hesitation, they packed up. "I'm coming with you."
They saw things clearly—Danielle was the one connected to the Jin family, not them. Even if Jinshan promised to help, going up against the Eight Clans would still put the Jin family at a disadvantage.
Regular people's lives meant nothing to those clans.
It was better to leave now. The Wasteland Zone might be dangerous and hard, but at least they'd still be alive.
Once they had the power to protect themselves, they could come back.
After packing up, the group hurried to the team's other location.
Just as they reached downstairs, a fire dragon appeared on the rooftop.
Everyone's face changed. "No… that's the team."
Zachary quickly shouted before vanishing, "Babe, hide them in the space. Wait for me."
This was a moment where their trust in each other mattered the most. Danielle nervously hid the teammate in the space and tucked herself away in a corner.
Soon, Zachary reappeared nearby, and the next moment, they all vanished again.
When Long Xi and his men rushed out, they found an empty street and were furious.
"Damn teleportation! Damn spatial power! Enough already!"
Those two powers combined were driving them mad.
Beside him, Fang Ming looked terrified. "Brother Long… what do we do next?"
Long Xi sneered, "Don't they like saving people? Then check—anyone connected to them, arrest them all!"
Inside the space, Danielle looked at Zachary and blinked.
"Is there anyone else related to us? No, right?"
Feiqing's brother sat on the ground holding his arm, pale, but even his injuries couldn't stop him from talking.
"That person from the Jin family."
Danielle's mouth opened slightly. "He should be okay, right?"
Zachary helped fix her messy hair. "He'll be fine. The Jin family is almost as powerful as the Top Eight Families."
Hearing that, Danielle finally relaxed a little.
Still, just to be safe, she sent a message to Jin Shan.
Jin Shan, who finally got in touch with Danielle, quickly sent her a video. But to avoid revealing her location, Danielle had to end the call quickly.
She turned and asked, "The team has already decided to go to the Waste Zone. What about you? Are you coming?"
Feiqing's brother looked at his frightened sister and felt a pang of guilt.
"I'll go."
He had heard what that ruthless guy said earlier. Who knew what kind of torture they'd face if they stayed? It was better to follow Danielle and leave.
Especially when he saw the space packed with supplies—enough to last for years. He couldn't resist.
Since everyone agreed to leave, the next thing to figure out was how.
Zachary thought for a moment. "If the two of them go out now, it might attract attention. Better to leave them in the space while we go instead."
Two people would draw less attention and could react faster in case of danger.
Danielle agreed. The only problem left was how to sneak into the teleportation area.
At that moment, one of the team members raised a hand, looking a bit shy and uneasy.
Danielle was confused. "What's wrong?"
They blushed, opened their box, and hesitantly pulled something out.
"I don't know if you can use these or not… Just take a look."
They quickly spoke and ran off to hide behind the two kids.
Danielle looked and instantly blushed. She didn't expect someone who looked so cold and distant to be into cosplay.
Feiqing's brother stared in shock.
"Wow, I didn't know you had so many side jobs. You're really hardworking!"
Pfft.
Danielle almost spat out her drink. She looked at him like he was an idiot.
Then she glanced at Zachary, who was still focused on examining the clothes, completely clueless.
She slapped her forehead. "Fine, let's not talk about disguises for now."
She lifted her wrist. "What about the wristband?"
The wristband had tracking features. Danielle had noticed it didn't work inside the space, and Zachary could teleport. Still, the people in charge could control life or death through the wristbands.
Zachary's eyes turned cold. "It's not something we need to worry about right now."
Seeing their worried faces, he explained seriously.
"Actually, the wristbands can be removed."
Danielle suddenly remembered something from when she first arrived and clapped her hands.
"That's right! When I got kicked out of the Duo family, they somehow took it off!"
But the problem was—she couldn't remember how. The original memory didn't include that detail.
