Since coming back into his simulated world, Alaric was focused, more so than usual.
"..." His simulated father, Dan, noticed this change,
"You changed since visiting the academy, Adam. Do tell me, did they give you some form of requirement before you were to join their ranks?" Dan wondered,
"No, father," Adam said, but...
'I realized my main goal for creating these simulations... To understand the stories and the ways my fellow demigods ascended into power. Okamo, for example, had to form mountains and climb to the peaks to be recognized by our father. Is this a similar thing that comes with his stories? I should proofread these things with them before making simulations on their ascension and lives.' Adam thinks that, as Junala had to die a glorious death in battle, and when dead, her being was revived in the God Realm, where Dominael made her an Immortal.
'Has to be.' Adam thinks,
"Father." He soon spoke to the man once more,
"I want a tutor." He ordered, as Dan smirked,
"A bold request. I know you're not like the others, but for you to ask for a tutor, might I ask what's going on in your head right now, making such a demand?" Dan wondered as Adam was quiet for a short time. However,
"I simply want to become capable of independence in this world of magic. I am sure you'd know that speaking as magic is the pinnacle of power in this world. Puny mortals are greedy; they don't like it when others have the power, so, therefore, I will be that pinnacle. I want a tutor." Adam explained as Dan cocked an eyebrow,
"Now that's a strong word. Puny mortal hm? I didn't raise my son to act so arrogant just because..." Dan sighed,
"I know you're one of the Draconic Heirs... But that doesn't make you more or less human than the rest of us. Don't forget it. You are human like us. We love you because you are our human child." Dan said,
"... Your mother might not be able to say it now... But she loves you. I love you. Remember that... When that day..." Dan grows silent...
"..." He worried... as he walked up to Adam, staring at the boy...
"... Don't forget... T-That we love you, Adam." Dan smiled, before...
"!!!" Adam's eyes widened, as Dan hugged the child...?
"...?" Adam is surprised... This never happened before... Why?
"..." He is silent...
'Why is he acting so different?' Adam wondered, he wasn't sure if the simulation was messed up or not...
'But... This... This does feel nice.' However, Adam pushes those thoughts aside and accepts the hug from the man.
***
It has been a few months since then. Adam learned a LOT, from arcana control to forming many exceptional attacks and complex movements of the earth itself.
'I got the basics down... But putting it into practice is a lot more difficult than I thought.' Adam thinks that controlling arcana is one thing, but controlling an element is another. You must embody it, and right now, he is doing just that. But this kind of power isn't suited for him, so it took the remaining time he had at home to focus and become familiar with the basics.
'So... I can control the earth in... Every single way. Unlike what I did with those bushes this is more complex and requires precise control... Something I have already but with this type of arcana... It almost feels like I am learning a new skill.' Thinking to himself, he continued,
'Maybe I can use these simulations to truly learn how they work... Maybe the next one will be about Junala's ascension...' Adam thinks, asz Junala was the first and Alaric was the second but they were close in the times of their ascension.
Just for a few decades apart. Junala ascended into an Immortal upon a glorious death after she killed an entire army.
Alaric's was when he died due to old age by reading. In his last moments, he read a book about a long old god, Dominael, and when he died, he ascended.
Ellena, one of two twins, died together at a young age. Much like the others she ascended.
Alissia died via attempting to fly but failed and plunged to her death. This, however, grants her ascension.
Gallinum died from a lightning strike in the ocean, allowing him to ascend.
The other demigods have similar ascensions.
Some being decently tame ones, like Okamo erecting a mountain, climbing it, and facing Dominael.
'Wait... If my goal is to understand my peers... Does that...?' Adam realized something significant...
He needs to do a similar thing to ascend to claim the Guardian's power... Their Divine Essence, claim it and become the dawn of the new world.
'So, that's what I was thinking, huh? Pretty great plan... Pretty lengthy, sure.' Adam soon is seen walking to a gate...
'But if I want to complete this simulation... I'll do whatever it takes to finish it.' And soon, Adam was finally attending...
Castalix Arcana Academy!
***
Adam places a suitcase on the ground, staring at the gates as black as night. But behind it is a grand structure of integrity and obvious technique long lost hundreds of years ago. This is the academy that teaches the new generation the ways of arcana... Castalix Arcana Academy.
He grabbed that suitcase once more, as he walked beside noblesons of varying skin colors, body types, etc. But surprisingly...
'Elves?' He is surprised, elves are from the "Grove" and it's a mythical race in their realm. It's similar to the species in the Greek God's realm with sirens and leviathans, they also had their own. Elves.
These elves are beautiful and live for a LONG time, but throughout time, they would just hide out and never have children, their time is just that warped compared to normal humans.
'I should study them when I get back.' Thinking to himself, as 5 years here is a day out there, so if he wishes to ascend... He'll need around...
"!!!" Adam realizes...
'O-Oakamo was relatively young when he ascended... A-Around 16!!!' He realizes he has over 3 years before...
'Crap...' He growls to himself,
"..." But on the outside, he kept on. He wondered and soon found...
"My room." He said, as opening it... It's a simple room, a bed, a closet, and some other items such as...
"Nice." A private bathroom. He won't be bathing in public, thank Calaban.
"..." And soon he finished putting his things away, as...
"Okay, so classes will begin tomorrow... Today will be the introduction of the professors here..." Adam gets familiar once more,
"Hehe... Janus." Smirking, he recognized that name. A name of a man whom he was buddies with when he was on earth. A political figure who always cared about the education of his peers and the younger generation, he's a man he truly respected, which is rare coming from the demigod who calls humans "puny mortals" without much thought put into it.
"Lola, Fran... Even Lukas..."
***
Many hundreds of years ago, Alaric was seen as a young man and a scholar. He is seen wandering through the old cities are now either destroyed or expanded upon.
"Alaric!" Spoke a man, as coming to him...
"Professor Janus," Alaric responds, as this was a school for the educated, the ones with potential to become great in this war-ridden world.
"You don't have to ponder on titles, Alaric. We're friends, right?" Janus wondered, as despite his genius, him being responding for 3 wars won due to his unconventional strategies, he was still a goof.
"It's only the respectable title to call you. Now, what's it you need?" Alaric wondered, as the man then asked...
"Did the council manage to check the request for expanding the school? I want to see if the less fortunate could possibly attend-"
"Absolutely not." Alaric denied that idea,
"Peasants don't deserve to experience the luxuries of education. That's the rules of this kingdom, Janus." Alaric stated that he was indeed a bit of a racist here. Or more so, unfair to those without coins in their pockets.
"I know it's a stupid idea to you... But I think talent can come from those from humble beginnings! Look at you! You ascended to the position of a respectable politician at the age of 5! You were merely a middle-class citizen, too." Janus explained that, as he was a noble son, he took the path of an educator instead, and his family promptly disowned him. They wanted him to be a general, a political figure, but NOPE, Janus wanted to educate everyone.
"Because it is. Janus, do you realize how many resources we'll waste if the peasants seek out an education? We have a sensitive system where peasants work in fields, middle-class citizens are merchants, and the rich are political-"
"But you defied those odds! Come on, you know Lola always wanted-"
"ENOUGH! I don't care for that peasant you call wife!" Alaric shouts, as the pair stare at one another...
"... Fine." Janus turned around,
"... I'll make sure that my voice reaches even your ears." Janus walked away, as Alaric stood there...
"..." And is silent.
"... Janus." He called out, but before he could... He was long gone...
***
But years later... Those views that Alaric had had changed significantly.
"What...?" Spoke Alaric, as a decade had passed since then.
"Is something wrong?" Spoke a man, as...
"Y-You can't be serious. You... You?" Alaric wasn't sure if he was pulling his leg or not.
"Yes...?" The man isn't sure why Alaric is acting like this.
"..." Alaric was told that this man, who is one of the most excellent students of the Castalix Academy... Was a farmer's child?
"..." But Alaric stared at a scroll... It's undeniable that his...
"... Excuse me for a moment." Alaric is seen in his office, staring at the scroll...
"Janus..." But then realized...
"..." He sighed, it seemed Janus proved him wrong. Not only is this man, age 18, not only graduated from the academy Janus runs at 14... But throughout his 4 years, he became a well-respected political figure of the king himself. He was a strategist only Junala, a mighty warrior who died some time ago, can only be compared to. His strategies... They're only fit for a genius.
"..." Alaric sighed, it seems his opinions are flawed.
"But do I dare...?" He was given a chance to teach this young man the ways of...
"... Who knows, then." Alaric soon walked out, the man standing there, only straightening himself out as soon as Alaric was spotted.
"..." He is silent, as Alaric soon spoke...
"I'll accept you as my apprentice. Until I die, I will teach you everything I know, and when the time comes that I die... You will take over for me." Alaric was in his 40s, yet still looked young due to his unknown heritage.
But this man is only 18. But by the time he possibly dies, this man will be in his 40s, maybe even 20s if Alaric expires.
"I won't-"
"Hold on." Alaric cuts him off.
"I want you to... Send a letter to your mentor, Janus." Alaric said, as moments later...
"What's it for?" The man wondered, being handed a scroll.
"Don't worry about it. Just deliver it to him."
But ever since his ascension... Alaric became just as arrogant as when he was alive before that moment.
'Why do I act so arrogant?' He always asked himself... After all, he is always striving for knowledge, yet he doesn't know why he acts so stubborn when it comes to people... Even to Janus, he was just as stubborn despite his undeniable genius.
***
But back with Adam, he is seen given a scroll, depicting all his classes. Three in total, it was all arcana training.
Lola is educating them on arcana control.
Fran is then doing practical fighting.
Lukas is the man behind granting them a basic education, including the history of arcana, and even teaching them basic spells.
After all, those who inherited power by following the path of a Guardian still have normal arcana, Lukas will grant them proper instructions on their training while he focuses on the people who are unable to use the arcana possessed by them.
But...
Little do they know, the "Earthfolk" that Alaric is disguised as... It is a Draconic Hier who will be forced to end the simulation at the age of 16 if his ascension matches with the time of his companion's ascension.
'I just hope I can learn from here... More or less.' Adam just continues, as eventually...
"!" Adam's eyes widened, he felt... Arcana...?
'What the...' He grew confused, as he never felt-
"!" He recognized it... He felt it when he entered here to give his admission letter... But this...
'H-How can a human have no much arcana!?!' He is frightened even, as he feels it... Strings emerging and connecting to the walls, many were confused by Adam's sudden reaction, as eventually...
"Hello, students." Spoke a calm voice, as a man comes in wearing a coat over a linen shirt and black pants. Behind him...
"!!!" Adam's eyes widened more... These three people behind him... Their arcana levels are off the charts!
'A-Am I seeing things?' Adam is rightfully confused... As these four people stand on the stage,
"..." The four soon stared at the new batch of students... 25 students, 100 in total, and as Janus smiled...
"Welcome to Castalix Arcana Academy." He said, as Adam sees it... Strings going everywhere... And handing every student a paper seemingly out of nowhere.
"I am the principal, Janus Vulkmor. I am excited to see how you fair in the academy that produced many talented mages. So please, make yourself at home." Janus smirked, as his eyes glinted a simmering color of brown...
"!!!" Adam just can't phantom such incredible might... Even if it's a simulated world, he knows these characters are fragments of a past or stories brought.
Hopefully, he will get on his good side...
End of chapter 7.
