"Sometimes, in life, there was a feeling. Maybe, this story wasn't the whole "oh wow protagonist has hidden powers—'" Ah, I give up, this is too childish. I spat out in disdain, then gazed toward the endless pages written by that insolent deceitful author.
My blood rusted blade sheathed in the scabbard of a girl I loved dearly. And so I shall endlessly gaze at the ink pen writing the draft that I now know to be the one draft that she is making me avoid.
And I pointed my blade toward the stars of last night of this failed version of a story she desperately wrote. I knew she could see me, yet she would never acknowledge me.
"The Novel"
Or, the term I regularly use to refer to this pathetic garbage of a story meant to eradicate an Ancient Crucible.
"▇▇e ▇i▇g▇l▇r ▇t▇▇ry."
Unfortunately, I will not spoil more. Transferring one's self to the countless drafts of this story is quite the struggle. So just you wait you Scribe, once I'm done with this, shall I finally burn the last pages of the story you ever desperately tried preserving.
I'm sure the ones observing these meager words on a page, maybe even a phone, or monitor, are curious as to why the story suddenly changed directions. So I'll tell you this, and this only before I make my way to ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇st draft written and abandoned by the deceitful. So take these words lightly or even with penitence, from I, ▇he ▇ru▇▇l▇n▇ L▇c▇▇ D▇▇▇▇.
Do. Not. Trust. This. Novel. Nor the Author.
Satoya was laying down in the shade of the ever bright patch of grass and weed. The shade provided great cover, the summer heat was quite horrid, Satoya himself had to fan out his shirt so much his arms were numb from exhaustion.
He looked down at Shizune, who was still sleeping or unconscious, who knows. Jeez, how is she still passed out? Now I know how she felt when she was watching over me while I was knocked out by Zykar. Wonder how he's doing, is he still alive.. Eh, why do I care, he tried to kill me with that weird sci-fi arm.
He looked up, witnessing Isaac storm his way to him. He was holding a—is that a shopping bag?
Isaac quickly ran to him, and passed out Shizune. He gently placed the shopping bag, and it smelled like freshly made food, but from where exactly?
"Turns out, we weren't in some post apocalyptic–wait nah we are still, but we are in a Capital." Isaac said, taking out a cold can of CinnaCola, a notorious carbonated beverage from some random Capital Satoya forgot.
Satoya found a small bowl of white rice with some steaming hot pork. He also dug around and found a plastic spoon, shrugging from the lack of chopsticks. He took a bite of some pork he managed to cut with the spoon and rice. The taste was, well, bland, it's literally just cooked pork over white rice. He also asked Isaac while chewing, "wait we are? Which Capital?"
"So apparently we are in the 2nd Capital's Archipelago." Isaac explained, sitting on the warm ground, his hand poised behind him, acting as a stand for him to sit back, he took a sip of the cold can, the fizzing noise was quite loud, but Satoya wasn't surprised due to the can being plastered in "CINNACOLA, EXTRA FIZZ JUSTICE."
"Oh, we are? Why is it so post-apocalyptic-y?" Satoya asked, taking another bite of the bland bowl of white rice and pork.
"So, what happened here was… how long was it… Oh yeah, 230 years ago during the 10th disaster, this country was the epicenter of it. So to put it like this, some guy named Amadeus Magnus, don't mistake him for the Nebulaian Philosopher Amadeus Magnus, became the Cataclysm of the disaster—folded everything in a 30 meter radius, then and I quote "shattered itself."' Shizune's sudden lecture from her scared Satoya, causing him to nearly choke. She crawled and reached for a steamed bun while mumbling "Ooh!"
She took a bite, her face contorting in fury. Satoya side eyed her, chewing on a piece of pork, his eyes narrowed, judging whether or not he's gonna witness the 5th crashout. 1st one being Argoreas, 2nd one being Edward, 3rd one being Rayna, and the 4th one being Johnathan.
Shizune held up her bun that had a bite out of it, a red chili oil oozing out of the side. "Who the actual. Fuck. Put chili oil in this." She was still chewing, her jaw moving at a normal pace. There were no signs of someone succumbing to spice.
That's when Satoya remembered, Shizune's body is odd, she can tolerate an impeccable amount of spice, and maybe alcohol, alcohol needs to be fact checked due to global Drinking age being 22.
"I was enjoying the beef inside, but who in their right mind put chili oil? Where are we? Huangfu?!" Shizune gritted her teeth, speaking in a minor muffle. The sight of her puffed up cheek made Isaac guffaw.
Isaac's laughter subsided, he faced Satoya with a worried look. "So, are you feeling better?"
Satoya made a gentle smile, he was unsure, he felt somewhat empty. He never saw anyone as a family, and the closest thing to a family was the gang. He himself never knew his family, likely because they ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇.
"If they believe it's right, then it's right."
Isaac raised an eyebrow, taking another sip of the can. Shizune took another bite of the bun before chuckling lightly. "Look, Isaac! It's the time of the week where Satoya becomes a philosopher!"
"Still not gonna be a philosophy major." Satoya mumbled, making all of them laugh in a chaotic manner. Satoya glanced at the grocery bag, it was very obviously bought from a convenience store, but where exactly? He now knew they were in the 2nd Capital Archipelago, the location of a former Cataclysm who died 230 years ago. A disaster can't end without the Cataclysm dying.
"Isaac, where the hell did you find this?" Satoya asked, scraping up the rice with his plastic spoon. Taking a final bite, and throwing it in the grocery bag.
"So there's like an outpost, it's honestly pretty big, ya see, it's as large as 4 city blocks combined! But they told me they prefer to use their own currency which is Alikas, but they accepted Alikurs." Isaac shrugged. Shizune spat out, laughing even more, "Alikas? Are you serious? Wow, so original, totally not similar to Alikurs!"
"The guy I bought these groceries from told me there is a hotel there, and we can probably afford it, considering I, may or may not have stolen some of Rayna's pocket money while she was asleep during our flight to Rieamaius 5 weeks ago." Isaac took out his wallet from his pocket, opening it up and showing the two an entire stack of Alikur notes.
"Isaac, this is a robbery, holy crap." Shizune gasped, taking the last bite of her bun.
Isaac closed the wallet, asking Satoya and Shizune, "So y'all wanna go chill in that hotel for a bit to figure everything out?"
