Epilogue Part 1
"Tell us a story Daddy!" His and Pansy's 5 year old daughter Ionna begged.
Now 36 year old Harry Potter had currently been playing a game with the younger children after dinner in an effort to get them tired enough for bed, but they were clearly still too wired for that.
"Lots of stories!" Her 5 year old half sister and usual partner in crime Tessa insisted.
He feigned pretending to fall to the ground asleep as he made snoring sounds.
Some of the kids giggled, realizing he was just having fun with them.
"Daddy! You can't go to sleep now." One of Ionna's older twin sisters Destiny informed him as she tried to shake him awake.
He pretended to wake up as he argued, "But I'm trying to sleep."
"We can't sleep yet until you tell us lots of stories." Tessa told him, as she bounced up and down.
After sighing he said, "All right, I'll tell you a story, but afterwards it's time to get ready for bed, agreed?"
Each of the children nodded.
"I want to see a story." His daughter Elva complained.
"Oh you want to see a story huh?" He asked as he smiled.
He knew what she meant. She wanted to him to use the pensieve to view a story, or a memory either he or one of his wives had had. Over the years it had helped in his kids getting to know both him and their moms, which had always been important to him. With as many kids as he had, it was kind of hard to get to know his kids as well as he might like, although he certainly tried his best.
"I'll go get everyone else!" Ionna offered as she ran off.
He knew what was coming of course, the rest of the family would all gather together, and then no doubt even after the kids were in bed, they'd stay up swapping stories. He'd been hoping to get the kids to bed on time first of all to lift that burden off his wives and earn their appreciation... but also perhaps try and reap some rewards for that appreciation.
Well perhaps with the right stories it might at least put them in the mood and... then again at least one of his wives was always in the mood, one of the benefits to having 7 wives.
Still, he decided to go and get the pensieve that his family used sometimes in order to share experiences they had had.
When he came back with it, he was surprised to find what appeared to be nearly everyone already there, gathered in a circle.
He did a quick head count, something necessary for as many children as he had or they always ran the risk of forgetting or losing someone. Evidently everyone had decided to join, including his own mother, sort of the Matriarch of the Potter clan.
She'd dutifully helped him through the years as a grandmother that spent most of her time doting on her grandchildren.
Then he realized he was indeed missing someone. Where was Su?
"Looking for me?" Su asked as she came up behind him, just now getting there as she waddled over.
Waddled because she was currently 8 months pregnant with twins. That was a story in and of itself. Most of his wives, including Su, had decided they were done having children, but after starting late having them and finishing early, she'd decided one day that she really wanted to be a mom again. Even so, she hadn't been expecting twins again.
He graciously situated Su in a nice comfy chair before continuing.
"All right, what story should we tell and see?" He asked his family audience.
"We're using the hat." Tonks explained to him.
He was tempted to groan. The hat meant that they would be having each family member write their suggestion on a slip of paper and put it into an old black hat before the suggestions were all mixed up and them randomly drawn one at a time out of them.
So this meant they would indeed be at it all night. He liked viewing and telling stories, but he'd still been hoping to...
Someone however nudged him on his shoulder and as he turned to see it was Pansy, Pansy then reminded him, "You know we can slip out early if you want."
He laughed and said, "You know me too well."
Pansy was sort of the babymaker of his wives. She'd trained as a healer, but ultimately chose to just be a stay at home mom, wanting as many children as she could with him. Someone might think it was rather unusual for a woman to have 12 children, but then again it was rather unusual in this day and age to have 7 wives as well. Besides he saw no reason with it as long as he could support them all (which he could).
While he'd worried considerably about just how he was going to support his family when he was young, it was then that magical dueling really took off in popularity and how much money you could make if you were really good. He'd won enough tournaments and done enough advertising gigs,
including ones on cereal boxes that even with such a large family they would have been fine even if he was the only one working.
Of course most of his wives worked too. Fleur and Gabrielle taught Defense Against the Dark Arts and Dueling respectively at Hogwarts as a way to be close to their kids while they were away at school, Su, until her recent retirement when she'd decided to be a mom again, had been on the dueling circuit alongside him, Tonks was still an Auror, Ariana had become a very popular author, and Susan was a representative of the ICWM, or the International Confederation of Wizards and Muggles.
The world had changed a lot in the last 20 years, including the creation of such an organization.
Before he could ruminate any further on that however, he noted that his family had finished putting suggestions into the hat and now they were passing it to him as head of the household to conduct this little impromptu family get together.
As he looked out at each member of his family, he knew he loved each and every single one of them. This was his family, a bit unorthodox and a large one, but he still wouldn't have them any other way.
They were a motley lot, with some of his children resembling or acting more like him more than others and some of them looking or acting more like their mother, and then of course some who seemed to be neither of them and was more like another of his wives.
This he supposed was inevitable. No matter which child was biologically their's, they'd made the decision to raise each child as if each of them was their own, which he believed only strengthened the level of parenting and love each child received.
He looked over at some of his younger children and selected one at random.
"Orenda." He suggested to one of his and Pansy's daughters, who was only 4 and normally a bit shy, "Why don't you come up and pick the first name?"
The young girl looked delighted at being picked as she went up to go and do that.
After fishing the first slip of paper out of the hat, he bent down and helped her read it as he whispered what it said into her ear.
"The Wedding!" She declared to her family.
There were more than a few expressions of delight at that. It was a very popular memory to view.
"Thanks honey." He told his daughter as she smiled widely before going back to sit down.
He went over the pensieve as he touched a button on it.
It was an upgrade to the old pensieves because it could make all the occupants in the room, even without touching it itself be able to view what was in a memory as if they were already there.
However he decided to check real quick just which memory was already floating at the top.
When he saw what it was, he glared over at Su.
She tried to look innocent but he knew better. It was one of their sex memories which she often liked to secretly view.
"What?" She defended herself, "just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I don't have needs."
Honestly he couldn't blame her, but he still didn't want the children accidentally finding the pensieve and stumbling across those memories, nor did he think they would want to see them. Even if he normally kept it locked up and magically warded, experience had taught him nothing was ever truly safe where his kids were involved. Some of them even considered locked or magically warded things a challenge.
After pushing those memories down so no one could get to them at least accidentally, he found the one of their wedding.
A favorite of both his kids and wives.
Once he'd set it up, he pressed another button and the memory came into view and began to play.
The entire room they were in changed so that it looked exactly like the gorgeous ballroom they had all gotten married in, complete with lights hovering everywhere and everything arrayed in white and gold.
Even just seeing this made his heart soar.
He and his family, now made up the audience of people sitting in chairs while the wedding took place.
He saw himself, looking much younger, only 17 at the time, as he waited at the altar for each of his wives to arrive.
The first was Susan, adorned in her stunning white dress that emphasized her huge chest, which even today she was immensely proud of.
It was a trait inherited by each of her daughters whether they liked it or not, although none of them seemed to mind as far as he could tell.
Susan proudly and majestically came towards his younger self, smiling and obviously overjoyed to finally get to this day, accompanied by Sirius who was acting as the replacement for the father of the bride.
He glanced over at the current Susan, looking nearly as happy as she once again viewed this memory of herself. She'd probably reviewed this memory more than anyone.
Next was Pansy, looking just as beautiful as she wore a similar happy expression on her face.
"You look so beautiful mom." He heard one of his children say, but he failed to catch which one.
"She still is." He insisted as he gazed lovingly at Pansy.
"I've gained a few pounds since then." Pansy pointed out, not obese, but certainly bigger than she used to be, unable to prevent all of her pregnancies having at least some toll on her body. Not that that bothered him, she'd at least put a good amount on in the right places as well.
"You're right, you're even more beautiful." He told her, totally honest as he said it.
She blushed and said, "Well apparently I've still got it."
"Mom!" Her oldest son, Drake, who was already 17 complained.
He went over and kissed Pansy just to spite him, earning a few more complaints from the kids, but he disregarded them being a big believer in showing his kids that he and their mothers still loved each other. Then he went back to viewing as he watched Pansy still slowly making her way down the aisle being escorted by her father.
Mr. Parkinson he'd never really associated much with, who in turn had always seemed to not care very much about his daughter, which was something he could never see eye to eye on him with.
However when he'd died only a few years after their wedding, Pansy had still inherited everything from him due to the fact that she was his closest living relative and he'd never truly loved or respected anyone enough to actually will all his money to, partially because he'd likely hadn't expected to die so young but in the end not being able to take with him the money he had worked so hard to accumulate.
Pansy claimed she was using it all to help pay for all of her children's upkeep and education, defiantly going against the belief of her father's that a woman should only have children until she produced a single male heir, already having 8 sons of her own, which accounted for most of his sons.
He'd likely be totally aghast at his daughter's behavior if he were still living, but Pansy simply didn't care what he or anyone else thought of her.
Nor did he. Besides, it was awfully fun to try.
Su was next, dressed in a somewhat unorthodox wedding outfit. She wore a white, extravagant shirt, and then a pair of white booty shorts that allowed her to show off her firm and pale white legs, while her dainty feet were clad in white silk slippers.
Her extremely long, shiny black hair, by now longer than she was tall at that point was left to fall all the way down her body and then drag on the floor 1 and a half feet behind her, with a long white bridal veil train underneath it to keep it from getting dirty.
Again, yet another thing that was rather unusual, but which one of his wives didn't care what other people thought about.
By now it was even longer, but it was something that Su took great effort to take care of.
She was also escorted by her father, again someone he'd never had much contact with even if he was still living as far as anyone knew. He'd since moved back to China and they hadn't heard from him since.
Fleur and Gabrielle, when they both appeared decided to go together, both being escorted at the same time, Fleur on his left and Gabrielle on his right by their father Mr. Delacour, who looked quite proud at being able to escort both of his daughters at the same time.
Fleur, however, by that point, was already heavily pregnant with her first child as she had been unwilling to wait.
"Look there's Celeste!" Some of his children pointed out enthusiastically as they pointed at Fleur's belly that had at that time been carrying Fleur's oldest child.
"You look just like mum did then." Her younger sister Saphira told Celeste.
The now fully grown 18 year old Celeste, who'd just recently graduated from Hogwarts, was not amused as she used her wand to mute her, preventing her from arguing further.
"Well you do look a lot like your mother." His own mother Lily had the courage to say to her, "Just as beautiful anyway."
"Beauty is overrated." Celeste argued dismissively, much like her mother in how she viewed beauty.
She was a lot like Fleur, he mused, but he'd never actually say it to her face. Secretly though he felt she actually enjoyed all the comparisons to her mother.
Finally both Fleur and Gabrielle made it to the altar as they joined the other brides-to-be already there.
"I'm next." Tonks pointed out as she waited for the younger version of herself to appear.
Once she had, he watched Tonks' reaction as he had with his other wives when they came out.
Her mouth was open, breathlessly watching as she seemed to be conjuring up her own memories of this momentous occasion.
She seemed to realize he was looking at her as she said to him, "I'm glad I went with my natural body for it."
Indeed she had, and he was grateful that he had insisted on it at the time. She usually messed with something when it came to her appearance, trying something new everyday, but for that day he'd wanted to see her for who she really was.
Tonks looked positively radiant as her own father Ted Tonks was her escort.
He at least he got along well with, he and his wife were great people (as long as they didn't try to have them babysit all the kids again, that had been rough on them).
"Hey, where's Blaze?" One of his children asked curiously.
"My mother has him." Tonks explained as she pointed at where the younger version of Andromeda was, holding her and his oldest son in her arms.
Blaze had followed the same route as her mother, having just been accepted into the Auror department.
Once Tonks had taken her place among his assembled wives, he watched Ariana's expression as she waited for her younger self to come out, the last of his wives.
Their relationship had indeed been rocky for awhile, but once they had truly gotten together it just went so much more smoothly. He loved her just as much as he did his other wives by now.
When Ariana came out, her long blonde hair beautifully curled and put out in front on either side of her, the current Ariana smiled with her characteristic Ariana smile.
"That was the happiest I've ever been," She admitted quietly as she gazed in wonder at herself.
Once she had been brought to the altar escorted by her brother Aberforth, the ceremony began.
Amelia, who officiated over the wedding, smiled at each of the people getting married as she began,
"Honored guests, we are here today to see the marriage of this young man Harry Potter to these lovely young women, and also this young woman, Susan Bones soon to be Potter to this young woman Ariana Taylor. also soon to be Potter. While indeed these unions and this wedding are a bit unorthodox, I think you would all agree that that's completely expected of this group."
There were several laughs from the audience at that, both past and present as they had to agree with that.
True, it was a bit different, but he knew Susan and Ariana loved each other just as much as they did him and it would be unfair of him not to let them be able to express that.
Fortunately his other wives and surrogate family, including Amelia, were understanding of such a relationship.
Of course for Amelia it might have been a little easier. From what he'd heard from Sirius, they could get pretty involved with each other sometimes even if he wasn't there.
Sometimes Sirius even just chose to watch while they went at it and with his 7th and last child (the last of his Quidditch team, as he termed it) finally having graduated about to leave home, he'd now have plenty more time for that.
Each of them were in their 60s by now, but they barely looked even half that, magic helping to slow the aging process along with various youth and vitality potions still keeping them looking pretty good.
Hopefully his wives would look just as good at that age as well.
Indeed as he once again looked at each one now and compared them with how they looked at their wedding, he was still amazed at just how beautiful and young they each looked. Somehow he'd gotten lucky so far on that front.
As he half listened to Amelia still conducting the wedding, and half watched them, he noted that they all had tears in their eyes from remembering this truly beautiful moment in their lives.
Even Su did, but hastily wiped them away, trying to prevent anyone from noticing.
He heard Amelia then ask, "Do you, Harry, take all these young women to be your lawfully wedded wives?"
"I do." He heard himself say solemnly.
At that a tear escaped from his own eye, caught up in watching this touching moment.
"Do you Susan take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?" Amelia asked pointedly of her niece at that time.
"Yes." She replied enthusiastically.
Amelia then grabbed Ariana's arm as she also asked, "Then do you also take this young woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"Yes." Susan instantly agreed as she smiled over at Ariana who returned it with her own smile.
Current Ariana and Susan, still very much in love shared a similar one, not caring at all who was watching.
Amelia then turned to Pansy as she asked, "Do you..."
Pansy impatiently answered I do, before Amelia could finish.
"I suppose that's good enough then." Amelia commented with a smile as she then turned to each girl in turn.
It felt like he was going back in time he thought, like he was really there. He suddenly felt once again like he was a bundle of nerves but overjoyed at the same time, looking out at the women he loved so much.
Finally after Ariana said I do not only to him but also to Susan, Amelia pronounced, "Then by the power vested in me I now pronounce you husband and wives, and you Susan and Arriana, wives."
He found himself going over as he went to kiss each of his new wives but at the same time, he decided to do the same thing in the present day.
By the time he had finished with the last one, the memory had faded, his kids all looking like they had enjoyed it.
"Did they all live happily ever after?" Tessa asked.
"They sure did." He agreed easily.
After a moment however, his oldest son Blaze pointed out, "Well it wasn't always as wonderful as that, even afterwards."
"Yes," Fleur admitted gravely, "it wasn't, we had our challenges too."
"Those however would be other stories." Gabrielle told them all.
"I do believe the younger kids all agreed that they would only stick around for just one story." He pointed out, "It's already past your bedtime."
"Awww!" Came a collective disagreement.
"Mummy, do we have to?" Destiny complained to her mom Pansy.
Destiny showed her best pleading and cute face, her big brown eyes making her look positively adorable.
"Listen to your father." Pansy eventually said, able to resist. "Come on, I'll help tuck you all in bed."
"I'll help you out." His mother Lily offered as she started herding the kids who were younger than 10 to bed. Those who were older, depending on their age got different bedtimes.
He then had Fleur select the next child to pick a memory idea out of the hat, one of Su's twins Trixie, who certainly lived up to her name, a more mischievous version of Su along with her twin brother Uxie who was her usual partner in crime.
She read from the piece of paper she pulled out, "Dad's Most Embarrassing Moment."
He looked around at the audience to see if anyone was going to claim writing that.
Susan, laughing a bit at his expense asked innocently, "So what exactly is your most embarrassing moment Harry?"
"I know what it is." Su said mischievously.
"I um, don't think that's appropriate to view in front of the children Su." He tried to argue.
She frowned but then told him, "All right, well I've got another one in mind, help me up Harry."
After helping her out of her chair she went over to the pensieve and managed to find the memory she was looking for and hit play.
Immediately an image of him popped up as he tripped over one of his kid's toy cars outside and fell face first into the mud.
Most everyone laughed but then Su said, "Let's see that again."
He winced as she replayed it again... and again...
"All right, that's enough of making fun of daddy." He insisted before turning to Susan, "You want to pick the next kid to select a memory?"
Several hands went up among his children, but Susan finally selected his and Gabrielle's 14 year old daughter Lorelei, who resembled Gabrielle a great deal, but her hair was a dark brown.
That was one daughter he'd started having trouble with boys with. Of course with as beautiful as his daughters generally tended to be, this was hardly new. It was a good thing he was a world famous duelist, a title he frequently used to threaten boys that his daughters decided to bring home to meet with him.
Lorelei picked out a slip of paper and read, "The First Magic Unification Day."
Susan sighed as she suggested, "All right, but if we're going to show you that one I think I'd better give a bit of history on it though. After the death of Dumbledore, we still had to deal with all those new wizards that he'd created. While I'm sure it might have been Dumbledore's intention to have the world suddenly find out about our existence, we somehow managed to keep it under wraps and keep the world at large from finding out. The problem was that we suddenly had 700 more young wizards, more in fact than the entire population of Hogwarts at the time. Simply allowing them to start school there would have put a strain on the delicate balance of Muggleborn/Pureblood relationships and Purebloods refused to allow them access to the school. We couldn't simply ignore them, wizards and witches who don't receive a magical education of some sort risk becoming a danger to themselves and others when they don't have control over their abilities. Several suggestions were made, including what we usually do with Muggleborns who decide not to go to school and learn magic, we put a block on their abilities so that they won't accidentally use magic. Doing so stunts a person's magical growth so it's an important and usually permanent decision, but it's still a viable one for anyone not wishing to live as a wizard. However while some of the kids opted for that, there were still plenty still wishing to learn magic as well as continue to get a Muggle education, and others willing to just get a fully magical one altogether."
She licked her lips before continuing, "According to wizard law, one that has always been extremely important for us to uphold, any person with enough magic in them to be considered a wizard or witch must be allowed the rights to a magical education. Fortunately enough people agreed with this that we were able to commission a second school be built for those newly made wizards and witches wishing to attend where both magic and Muggle educations were taught simultaneously."
"Wasn't Hermione Krum the headmistress of that school for awhile?" He heard one of the children ask.
"Yes," Susan confirmed, "She was the last headmistress of Rogarts before the unification of the two schools. She was integral in being able to make that a smooth transition."
Hermione and her husband were still good friends of theirs even though Hermione was rather busy now as the Headmistress of the now rather crowded Hogwarts.
"Eventually," Susan continued, "after figuring out just how each of the new magicals got their magic and the risks involved, with a great of effort and testing, we realized that we now had a totally safe way to provide magic to children under the age of 15, even though anyone older than that ran into too great of risks, their older bodies unable to adapt to the presence of magic. However once it was considered safe, we still ran into some moral complications as to its dispersal. It created a huge debate among the wizard community, but eventually it was decided to start slowly giving it out at least in Britain, mainly to squib children or siblings of Muggleborns wishing to get magic. Those children were also mainly sent to Rogarts to learn."
"That is until the reunification day, when we finally decided to start integrating the two schools." Fleur said, deciding to take over for Susan, "That, however, was only brought about after we started working with the Muggles."
"I think we'd better show them The Memory," Su suggested.
Fleur looked surprised but then asked, "Are you sure that's wise? They're only children."
"They still need to know." Su insisted.
They hadn't ever shown the kids that memory before... but he still felt they needed to.
"I think it's time." He agreed, showing his support for Su.
Fleur and his other wives still there looked a bit worried but Fleur finally said, "Alright."
"What memory are you talking about?" His and Su's daughter Mei Lin asked.
"The day your father defeated Voldemort again." Fleur said solemnly.
