Chapter 4 - Chapter II: The Test of Darkness

Time seemed to pass slower in the Kingdom of Darkness, but also seemed to pass faster. Four years later, Charlotte had grown from a child to a young assassin. Her strength had also grown a lot during this time, but her father still did not show any satisfaction with her.

One day, her father suddenly said to Charlotte: "Tomorrow, you will have a test. If you can pass the test, then you can truly become an assassin."

Although Charlotte had been receiving his training, she still felt an inexplicable tension when she heard this. In the Kingdom of Darkness, the test means everything. Her father never told her the content of the test, but she knew that no matter what the content of the test was, it would not be simple.

At night, Charlotte tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She couldn't stop thinking about the content of the test, and she was very worried that she would not pass. But at the same time, she also felt a determination and fighting spirit of disobedience. Charlotte decided to go all out to prove her strength no matter what the content of the test was tomorrow.

Early the next morning, Charlotte followed her father to the test site. Along the way, she felt a sense of uneasiness and tension in her heart. But her father was as silent as ever and did not tell her any information about the assessment.

After a while, they came to an abandoned mountain area. Although it is difficult to distinguish between day and darkness in the kingdom of darkness, she can still vaguely feel a strange and oppressive atmosphere. Finally, they came to a ruined temple. It used to look very magnificent, but now it is deserted. There are two very fierce-looking shadow guards guarding the door.

Her father turned around and finally said, "Next you have to pass the assessment alone. There is a power in this temple, and you must use your power to find and use it. Only when you successfully use it can you pass the assessment." He glanced at the two shadow guards and nodded slightly. They silently made way for Charlotte to move forward. Her father did not say goodbye, nor did he have any words of encouragement.

Charlotte took a deep breath and walked into the door of the temple. The moment the door closed, she was completely isolated from the outside world. The interior of the temple was dark and silent, like a closed world. Charlotte looked around, searching for the power that might exist in the temple. The interior of the temple looked desolate and strange, with damaged walls and floors. The echo of her footsteps reverberated in the temple. Suddenly, Charlotte felt a gaze falling on her, as if something was watching her in the darkness of the temple. Charlotte looked around, but didn't see anything.
