Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Analyzing the Orgin Energy

Time passed quietly, marked only by the gentle rhythms of the Origin Ocean.

The universe was in its early stages, its immense space devoid of any life forms except for the primordials.

Only they traversed the vast emptiness of the universe aimlessly.

Lex, floating above the Origin Ocean, was now completely dedicated to analyzing Origin Energy.

A drop of Origin Energy hovered in front of his body, a perfect sphere of shimmering energy as if the very essence of existence had condensed into this singular drop.

Its surface was translucent yet infinitely deep, a swirling vortex of light and shadow contained within.

Colors beyond the comprehension of mortal eyes danced inside it, brilliant and fluid.

Each flicker of light showed creation and destruction of planets and galaxies.

At first glance, the inside of drop appeared chaotic, like an endless storm of energy colliding, unraveling, and reforming.

Its movements defied comprehension, but to Lex, chaos was merely a veil; beneath the hidden order he perceived.

And so, he focused his consciousness to trace every pulse and every change of the origin energy within the drop.

The passage of time was meaningless in the absence of mortals, stars, or worlds to measure it. To Lex, it felt like both an instant and also eternity.

The silence around him deepened, broken only by the occasional, faint resonance of the origin energy below him.

Then, after what could have been hundreds or thousands of years, he felt a subtle but unmistakable change.

A flicker of understanding ignited within him, a sliver of the incomprehensible mysteries of the origin energy becoming clear.

From this little understanding, he understood several unique abilities of Origin Energy.

First; It can create and nurture life, aiding living and nonliving things to grow, heal, and thrive.

Second, it can repair damaged things like unique weapons, restore broken worlds, and even form stars, planets, and realms from nothing but the time span for them to form is too long.

This energy is also great for transformation and evolution. It can adapt to its user's desires, strengthen other powers, and help living things evolve or overcome their life limits, as in genetic codes.

It's also a force of transformation, capable of turning something weak into something extraordinary.

Origin Energy also has a destructive side to it. It can break down things to make space for something new, wash away impurities, and restart cycles of life and death, ensuring the universe keeps growing and changing.

On a deeper level, Origin Energy is mystical. It helps creating and repairing the laws and rules of the universe.

It keeps everything in balance and links the basic structure of the universe, like the atoms, protons, and quarks. Its power is endless, though using it recklessly can cause unpredictable and dangerous outcomes.

It also holds faint memories of everything that's ever existed, allowing those connected to it to glimpse the past or the possible future.

Lex gazed at the boundless Origin Energy, amazed by its limitless potential. It was a pure force of creation, transformation, and balance, yet he could also see its terrifying implications.

"If this energy fell into the hands of a being with evil intent, the results would be catastrophic. Entire realms could be destroyed, and the delicate balance of the universe would crumble to dust." Lex thought.

For the first time since his rebirth as the Will, Lex felt the weight of a moral dilemma pressing against his mind.

"Should I seal this energy away, safeguarding it from the creatures of the universe forever? Or should I let it flow freely, trusting in their potential for good—even at the risk of unimaginable misuse?"

Lex stood in silent contemplation. The possibilities spiraled endlessly through his mind. He saw worlds flourishing beneath its nurturing light, civilizations rising beyond their limits, transcending mortality, ignorance, and fear.

But alongside that hope, he witnessed darker visions: devastation wrought by unchecked ambition, chaos ignited by the corrupt, and the rise of tyrants who would bend reality to their will.

After a long silence, a single, resolute thought crystallized within him.

"I cannot hide the Origin Energy—because it cannot truly be hidden. And I dare not leave it unguarded."

"Then I will rewrite the rules of the universe itself."

He would craft a system, a delicate equilibrium. One that would not chain the energy, but test those who sought it. Only the worthy, the wise and the strong would be able to approach its core.

And for those with malice toward the universe, it would remain forever beyond reach, an eternal mirage in the vastness of creation.

His neutral expression softened ever so slightly as he extended his hand. "This is not a decision of right or wrong," he muttered. "It is a decision for balance, for the preservation of all that is yet to come."

Lex vanished from his spot, his form dissolving into light particles. In an instant, he reappeared at the heart of the universe, a place hidden within the deepest layer of the Origin Ocean.

He saw a door radiating ancient aura, with runes etched on it.

Whoosh!

He stood before the door and slowly pushed it open—what lay beyond defied all known perceptions, a sight both alien and awe-inspiring.

On the other side, all contrast vanished; no color, no shadow, no form. Just a boundless whiteness, serene and absolute.

The air, if it could even be called that, felt weightless and timeless, untouched by the laws that governed the rest of the universe.

This was the domain of the "Will," a place that existed outside of reality itself. The "Will" was never meant to leave this sanctuary, for it was the anchor that bound the universe together, maintaining balance and order.

But Lex, who was both the "Will" and something more, stood there now, an anomaly in a space where anomalies should not exist.

The "blank point," as he chose to name it, trembled faintly, as if welcoming him.

Even after expanding his consciousness as far as it could reach, all he saw was the same boundless whiteness; pure, unchanging, absolute. No depth, no texture, no form. Just an eternal expanse.

Realizing there was nothing more to perceive—for now—he chose not to fixate on it. Instead, he imagined the act of sitting, drawing from the memory of his previous life.

A chair materialized beneath him.

"That was useful," he mused, settling into it.

He visualized the laws and rules of the universe etched into a book, a tangible form to contain the boundless complexity of all laws in the universe.

As the thought solidified in his mind, a book materialized before him, floating in the void. Its cover was blank white, pristine, yet it exuded an unshakable presence, as though it held the weight of the universe itself.

Lex's gaze lingered on the book for a moment before imagining a pen to accompany it. Almost immediately, a pen appeared and hovered alongside the book. It was simple yet elegant, a tool crafted not of matter but of pure intent.

Now, all he needed was to thoroughly understand and master the rules and laws of the universe. He believed that with mastery, rewriting them would be a simple task, a matter of precision and will.

But as he reached for the book, his confidence faltered.

The moment his fingers brushed its surface, the truth struck him like a crashing wave. The laws of the universe weren't neatly ordered or straightforward; they were a labyrinth of endless intricacy.

Each law intertwined with countless others, forming an ever-shifting web that resisted even his powerful gaze—the simplicity he had imagined dissolved into a daunting reality.

The task before him was far more complex than he had anticipated. Comprehending, let alone rewriting, the rules of the universe would demand more than just willpower; it would require patience, insight, and a level of mastery he had yet to attain.

Fortunately for Lex, the crystal ball, now fused with his mind, significantly eased the difficulty of comprehending.

Its ability to lessen the difficulty of comprehension transformed what should have been an impossible feat into something within reach.

Lex sat crossed-legged in the white void and redirected all his attention to the monumental task of understanding the laws.

His focus sharpened, every fragment of his awareness dedicated to deciphering the threads of laws.

Without the crystal ball, even his elevated status as the Will of the universe would have been insufficient for such an undertaking.

He couldn't help but reflect on the nature of his existence. If he were still the previous "Will," an emotionless, machine-like force of instinct, there would be no need for comprehension.

The understanding would have come to him naturally over the course of eons, slowly integrating itself into his being. But now, as something more than the Will, Lex was no longer bound by time's patient flow.

He was a being of thought, intent, emotion, and action, capable of accelerating the process through sheer willpower and the crystal ball's infinite understanding.
