Synopsis
Liam, a die-hard thief, met his end during an operation. Just when he thought it was all over, he found himself face-to-face with a suspicious old man who looked like he had failed retirement multiple times. “Oi, oi! You’re the perfect lab rat—I mean, specimen—for my research. And don’t pretend like you’re not eyeing my nectar, you petty thief.” After striking a deal with the old man, Liam found himself reincarnated into a bizarre new world as a scrawny teenager named Dapper. In this place, magic ran wild, monsters were a daily nuisance, and everyone had something called a system. But Liam didn’t care about the chaos—he saw one thing and one thing only; opportunity! Armed with his system, sticky fingers, and shameless charm, he sets out to become the greatest thief in history. It doesn’t take long before rumors start flying—and soon, he’s infamous across the land as the “Wife-Plunderer.” However, it didn't take long before he caught the attention of the system enforcers. =========================== 2 chapters daily!

Chapter 1 - Prologue: Tale of a Wife Stealer

"CATCH THE KING CUCKER!!!"

"BOMBARD HIM WITH ATTACKS!"

"HIYAAAA!"

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

Frantic shouts echoed through a dense, thick forest as several men chased after a single target. They threw everything they had at him—Wyverns, Dragons, Advanced Mechas, Monsters, Horses, and waves of foot soldiers. Yet, they still couldn't catch up to him.

"DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY!!" bellowed a furious voice from atop a massive dragon. It was none other than the Demon King—Kratos, the cuckee. The demon feared by gods themselves, the same being who once plunged the five great continents into chaos.

But now, that same Demon King was losing his mind, screaming like a child denied candy—all because of one man.

A human.

A young, despicable human who had stolen his wife and had the audacity to sleep with her in his bed. Their matrimonial bed. To make matters worse, the human had convinced her to slip something into his food, rendering him powerless.

And how did Kratos find out? Only recently had he discovered that his wife—the woman he'd been married to for over a thousand years—was having an affair with this lowly human.

Since that day, Kratos swore vengeance.

*GRAGAGAGAGA!*

*BOOM!*

Explosions of fire and gunfire ripped through the forest, shattering trees and setting the land ablaze. Animals scattered in terror. Even the plants, if they could, would've screamed. Amidst the chaos, a hooded figure darted through the trees, moving so fast he was practically invisible. Right behind him were the infamous seven generals of the Demon King.

"Hehe, you still look hot as ever, Ava. I just wish you would start listening to your body," the man—Dapper—taunted, licking the corner of his mouth just to irritate the demoness closing in on him.

"You disgusting thing!" Ava spat, fury burning in her eyes. "I've got a personal score to settle with you. Your head is mine!"

'As expected of the Demon King's second in command,' Dapper thought as she closed in on him. 'To be able to keep up with me now—when I'm as strong as the Demon King himself…'

"You might be faster and stronger than the last time we fought," Ava growled. "But I've been training too. This time, I won't be the one to lose."

Suddenly, Dapper skidded to a stop and turned. Ava mirrored him, halting just in time—because something about him had changed.

The air around Dapper shifted.

"What… what did you do?" Ava whispered, her eyes wide as she stepped back instinctively.

"HIYAAAA—DIE!!!" another one of the demon generals shouted, launching forward with clawed hands, aiming to tear Dapper's head clean off.

"Wait—!! Something's not right with hi—" Ava tried to warn him.

*SHIM* *SHIM*

Too late.

The charging general was sliced into countless tiny pieces mid-air, his blood and flesh spraying across the forest like confetti. It was as if an invisible blade had shredded him without warning.

Dapper grinned, his eyes gleaming with mischief.

"I thought I said... I wasn't running this time," he said. Then, his gaze flicked to the item on Ava's neck. "By the way, isn't that one of those expensive jewels crafted by the Dwarf King? Never thought I'd see you chasing after a thief while looking all rich," Dapper added, grinning from ear to ear.

==============================

This is my first work in a while, it's a story I have long wanted to write. Please read through the third chapter, as the early ones explore the main character's past life. Unlike many reincarnation stories, I focused on the details of the character's death to set a unique foundation.
