Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 - Dominion of Ice

Time: 04:35 A.M.

Location: Southern Pacific, drifting toward the Chilean coast

Frozen battlefield scale: Roughly the full Pacific, thousands of miles of shattered ice and glacier spires in every direction.

Moonlight shattered across the frozen wasteland that was once the Pacific. Jagged spires of ice erupted from waves like obsidian teeth. The air stung with frost, each breath a shard slicing lungs. The stars trembled as if frightened by the turmoil brewing below.

At the epicenter of it all stood the big giant monster Frostjaw Reiken—you could no longer call it a mere monster, but the incarnation of an extinction event. Twelve eyes like supernovae glared across his reptilian visage. Six arms, tipped with claws capable of splitting tectonic plates, twitched with anticipation. Crystal frost spines burst from his back, etched with glowing blue-white runes that cut into the fabric of reality.

Opposite him hovered Archer Irving—absolute calm incarnate. His dual swords shimmered silver and crimson, floating by his side. The Godrend Aegis armor he wore was a marvel: condensed galaxies of mana coursed through silver-gray plating, orange veins pulsing like a living heartbeat. He didn't blink. He didn't breathe visibly.

Nearby, Karu Arakizawa stood strong in his battered but still working Titan-0 Apex armor, every elemental reactor raging. Rylen hovered firm in the violet glow of his Soulweaver Exosuit. Lucien, battered and completlely powerless, remained on the frozen plane—bloodied, breathing shallowly, fists clenched and still ready to throw his hands.

Together: four souls facing a planetary-scale apocalypse.

Opening Gambit: Arcane Ripples

Reiken screamed a sound perfectly tuned to dismantle matter, his chest cores glowing brighter."Cryo‑Graviton Domain."

The gravity warped around them. The ocean floor ripped open in a swirling vortex. His own made icebergs collapsed, and hundreds of miles of frozen sea began accelerating downward.Entire mountain spires—everything began falling toward Reiken's feet.

The shield faltered. Archer disappeared from sight.

"No hesitation!" Karu roared, dashing across the ice. Gravity bent around him, but his Titan armor's Adaptive Jets fired instantly, anchoring him.

Lucien slipped in the chaos but regained footing just in time. Rylen channeled support energy, his suit's Reality Warp bending gravity to hold their ground.

A moment later, Archer reappeared—hovering above Reiken's shoulder, swords at the ready.

First Clashes: Blades of Twilight

Archer initiated the assault:

Attack Skill: Nova Cross Severance. A dual slash so fast even light lagged behind it. Stellar-edged blades carved intersecting arcs through Reiken's side. Three miles of ice vanished in their wake.Reiken screamed, but did not collapse once again.

He answered almost instantly:

He unfurled a frozen wing—Cryo-Graviton Pulse: a wave of hyper-dense ice spread outward, destabilizing icebergs and obliterating terrain structure.

Defense Maneuver: Aetherial Bastion: A golden hexagonal dome enveloped Archer his presence. The icy pulse slammed into it, waves rebounding outward in glittering frost arcs, none penetrating the shield.

In visibility fewer seconds, Archer disappeared again in the air.

Tactical Momentum: Seismic Precision

Karu launched his counterattack:

He triggered Gaia Stabilizers in his boots, stomping downward with seismic force. The ground shifted violently and earthquakes hit Chile´s coastlines with a magnitude of 8.5. A crack snaked from beneath Reiken's massive foot to the ocean depths.

Reiken staggered and lost his balance. Ice armor cracked open.

Karu roared and unleashed Voidbreaker Gauntlets:

Each punch unleashed concussive kinetic waves strong enough to destroy skyscrapers with ease. The shore trembled on distant Chile. A crater formed beneath Reiken's leg as multiple bursts tore through armor and glacier.

Rylen wasted no time, focused on distraction:

He activated Reality-Warped Animus, flying in trailing after images behind the beast. His twin blades glowed with venom. With illusions baiting Reiken's gaze, Rylen landed a slicing strike along the cracked armor. The venom-blades hissed, seeping jagged green poison into the wound—triggering small cracks in his icy chest.

Reiken roared again, claws weaving:

He smote at the air, causing fissures to leap outward at sonic speed. Sheets of ice shards hissed like projectile hail, shattering the battlefield.

Rylen burned with fast maneuvers that no eye could catch, weaving close, then vanishing before crushing replies. Lucien moved next.

Lucien's Charge: Human Spirit Resurfaces

Lucien stepped forward, each footquake sending tremors beneath the ice. No powers left—just pure will.

He surged upward: Flight, Super Strength, nearing elite agility.

He channeled unspoken determination into a focused strike against Reiken's gaping wounds—remnants from Archer and Karu's assaults.

He punched upward into Reiken's side.

An explosion of shattered ice. A spatter of crimson frozen gore.

Reiken roared and backhanded Lucien aside. Lucien slid dozens of feet across frosted ice before halting with a clang. His rib may have cracked and broke again, but he gritted his teeth and went after Reiken again.

But before he could Rylen and Karu scrambled to stabilize him, injecting nano-healing energy into Lucien his body, flexing reality-bent abjuration to sustain him.

Archer reappeared overhead.

Attack Skill: Dual Entropy Blades: Right sword burned at 25,000 °C. Left blade emptied out absolute zero energy. He slashed in lightning strikes—Molten burns clashed with the freezing tip, annihilating chunks of Reiken's scales. The blasts chipped away at his six arms and exposed part of the faded core.

Even Reiken's ancient form writhed in agony.

Reiken gnashed his maw and unleashed his gargantuan roar. The ocean cracked. Waves of frozen particles, not warm water, shot across the battlefield.

Ice Power: Voidfreeze Barrage: Jagged beams of minus 500 degrees negative-temperature energy pelted the four fighters. Entire towns that were on the coastline of Chile got destroyed and warped out of existence. The abrupt temperature plunge stressed their suits.

Rylen triggered Soulweaver Thrall—reality warp shielding—and his blades deflected shards, though screams filled his helmet speakers.

Karu engaged the shield matrix—but ice splinters made each blow feel like granite shards digging into his armor.

Lucien rocketed upward, plunging into a hail of crystal shards. One sliced through his side, ripping skin. Divine blood mixed with frost.

Archer raised both swords, Celestial Phase Mirror shimmering behind him. Two massive energy mirrors formed. The beams ripped out an aurora of deflection—redirecting Reiken's barrage into the sky, blinding satellites.

Reiken's chest glowed purple. He inhaled.

Ice Power: Immortal Winter Core: He siphoned magnetic and tectonic energy. The ground quivered as steam rose from the frozen sea. The temperature dropped an additional 500 ° C. Storms of ice formed across continents.

The battlefield plunged into oblivion. Each breath felt like swallowing icicles. Every step ground against enamel-hard ice.

Archer's stroll cracked ice beneath his boots.

Coordinated Pressure: Attack Waves

Rylen looked at Archer; Archer at Rylen. A silent understanding.

Rylen unleashed Soul-Linked Crescendo—his reality warp weaving frequencies around Reiken's core. It vibrated reality inside Reiken, destabilizing armor around his abdomen.

Simultaneously, Archer invoked:

Attack Skill: Stellar Cyclone: Spinning like a cosmic drill, swords extended outward, generating miniature suns in vortexes. He plowed into Reiken's ribs. White-hot flares coring out chunks of flesh.

The beast trembled, staggering.

Lucien threw himself at an exposed chunk, punching deep with all his might. Flesh quaked.

Karu followed him—closing in fast. He ignited Pyro Reactor and Cryo Matrix simultaneously, hurling a converged elemental strike upward. Fire and water cascaded into an elemental kataclysm across Reiken's flank.

Fragments of rock, fire, water and wind punched outward in a rolling shockwave.

Reiken collapsed on one knee after a long time. One chest core visibly cracked and sputtered.

Archer, Rylen, Karu, Lucien—each battered, each bleeding—surged forward.

Steps in unison.

Lucien thundered into the ruined core. Rylen carved glowing runes with his blades that shattered armor plating. Archer stood above them, swords ready to kill.

Attack Power: Finality Sever – Eclipse Divider: Archer whispered. The cosmos replied. One sword flashed white; the other black. He crossed them, unleashing a cataclysmic slash at the damaged core.

All four channeled their energies:

Lucien's fist burned like a nova with pure willpower.

Rylen's soul blades pulsed with venomous vengeance.

Karu augmented with tectonic, elemental pressure.

Archer delivered the finality slash of the battle.

Core Shatters

The core exploded in a radiant burst. A jet of white-dark energy shot through the sky, momentarily splitting clouds.

Reiken screamed—a keening blend of agony and defiance—his body arching backward. One of his twelve eyes exploded outward. Icy wings shattered. The six-arm configuration slumped.

He fell apart into nothingness for the first time.

Chunks of him crashed across the frozen ocean—fragments frozen mid-explosion.

One core destroyed.

A thunderous shockwave rocked the battlefield.

Archer crashed to one knee. Rylen dropped to ice. Karu staggered; Lucien collapsed in feeble relief.

Snow and frozen debris drifted everywhere.

Clear silence enveloped them.

They'd done it— Reiken his body was slowly disintegrating into the air

Lucien lifted his head, neon breathing. "We did it, we did it!''

Archer gripped Lucien's shoulder. "Don´t think so. Only one of tjhe cores is down. One more to go."

Rylen staggered. "But… we thought that… but he's still alive."

They stared at Reiken's silhouette. Purple-black energy burst from the standing core.

Karu's HUD flickered. "He's regenerating."

They watched in horror: shards reattached. Flesh reshaped. Scales reformed over the shattered core.

Rylen gasped.

"He's fractured the pattern—we were only half… we need to strike both."

Archer nodded. Blood dripped from his chin. "We didn't kill him—yet."

Blisters of unnatural frost spread across Reiken's remaining body. A second pulse of alien energy rocked the field.

They rose, battered but resolute:

Lucien: breathing hard, muscles shaking, but still determined to fight.

Karu: armor humming and almost broken, elemental reactors synched to strike again.

Rylen: blades glowing, reality-warp dipped energy swirling around him.

Archer: posture steady, swords humming with cosmic potential, not even breathing heavy whatsoever.

They shared one look: determination.

Karu: "Next time, we hit together. All of us. One strike. Between us, we'll take his last core."

The mid-air frost clouds parted.

Reiken—still intact, but wounded—raised his broken fist.

He roared.

They closed ranks.

Together:

"For the world."

A frozen heartbeat.

"Let him come."
