Cherreads

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Always, Forever

The wedding day dawned golden.

Soft sunrays filtered through silk curtains as Sakura—no longer hiding behind the name Sana—stood before a mirror in a white gown that shimmered like memory. Her violet eyes, no longer concealed, glowed with vulnerability and triumph.

Downstairs, Ren waited beneath an arch of cherry blossoms, his heart thundering. He wore the crane she once folded him as a pocket square, a quiet promise folded into the fabric of his heart.

Their guests were few. Trusted colleagues. A few distant family members. And, quietly watching from afar with unreadable eyes, stood Mai.

She hadn't come to stop the wedding.

Just to witness what could've been.

---

The ceremony unfolded in soft music and whispered vows.

"I found you again," Sakura said, her voice shaking, "and I'll never let you go. Even if the world burns, I'll hold onto you."

Ren took her hands gently. "I've seen the fire in you. And I still choose you. Every day. For always."

When they kissed, the crowd erupted into gentle applause—but in Sakura's mind, there was only silence. Silence and his lips. Silence and the feel of his love binding to hers.

---

The weeks that followed were a dream.

No more lies. No more disguises.

Sakura returned to the company not just as CEO, but as herself—with Ren at her side. Some protested. Others doubted. But together, they restructured departments, fired snakes in suits, and rebuilt trust.

Their leadership was praised. Their love became legend.

But legends are never without shadows.

One morning, as Sakura prepared a presentation, an encrypted email hit her private server.

"You're not the only one who knows how to play games. Watch your back. - M"

She stared at the screen. Her fingers curled around the mouse, calm but calculating.

She had won the love.

She had won the power.

But peace was not permanent. Not in her world.

And she would protect Ren with her last breath.

---

They traveled the world together—business trips turned honeymoons, conferences turned adventures. Ren wrote a memoir, calling it "The Flame I Chose." It became a bestseller.

People called their love dangerous. Obsessive. All-consuming.

And maybe it was.

But it was also real.

Because Sakura Hoshino—the powerful, brilliant, terrifyingly devoted woman—had found her match. Not in someone who feared her, but in someone who embraced her, madness and all.

---

One night, they stood on the balcony of their Tokyo penthouse.

"Do you ever think we're too much?" Ren asked, wrapping an arm around her waist.

She leaned into him. "Only when I imagine a world where you're not mine."

He kissed her forehead.

And the city below sparkled, unaware that its most powerful woman had already claimed the one thing she could never build:

A love worth burning the world for.

The End.
