"Urgh," Hiroshi grunted as he lifted himself off the dirt path. He stood up straight and tall, trying to get a look at his new surroundings. Small, cottage-like houses were dotted in a circular pattern around him. They all seem dilapidated and old, as if they hadn't been lived in for one thousand years. The dirt path in which Hiroshi stood on was also screamed poverty. He pointed his nose towards the sky and smelled the surrounding aroma. It had a denser atmosphere than Hiroshi's planet. Not in the sense that gravity was different. It was the people. Hiroshi could sense powerful people all around the new world.
For the first time in over a year, Hiroshi Akuma grinned to himself. He even allowed himself to chuckle. He would never have to go back to that care home again, nor would he have to take the hit from the bullies in his school. He could definitively adventure and explain a new world that no-one had discovered before. He was finally free.
"Finally, my wish has been granted! I'm free from everyone that was selfish in my old world. This new world will surely aid me in my quest to find people that care about others before themselves!" he exclaimed loudly to no-one in particular.
Sadly, this happiness would not last forever.
A crowd gathered around Hiroshi. They looked very similar to the humans in Hiroshi's world. Perhaps they were. Their clothes were all torn and tattered, as if they were attacked by a herd of wildebeests. They began closing in slowly towards Hiroshi. There were easily thirty people in total. If they were hostile, there was no way Hiroshi could defend himself. After careful analysis, Hiroshi thought that the best option was to act friendly.
"Greetings everyone! My name is Hiroshi Akuma! It is a pleasure to be in your presence!" He sang energetically and warmly. Hiroshi thought that his charm would win the people over.
"Better not scare them too fast. After all, they probably know I'm not from here due to my clothes. I will let my presence sink in first, then mention to them about my transportation from another world!" Hiroshi thought to himself. It was a seemingly flawless plan.
It was anything but.
"Y-You fell from the sky…and you landed on the ground really hard…and yet you are still alive. A-Are you a God?" a village woman questioned him with fear and intrigue. Hiroshi could feel a cold chill going up his spine. They were afraid of him. Did they think he was someone else? Being called a god felt surreal to him.
"What? No, not at all. I am just a normal person, like you guys," Hiroshi scoffed at the idea playfully. "I just seemed to be very lucky with that fall."
Suddenly, Hiroshi was grabbed by a strong arm. He looked up. The man that grabbed him dwarfed over his average height. He looked extremely well built, as if he spent every day in the gym. The man was the definition of peak physical fitness.
"Ouch! Hey, what are you doing?" Hiroshi stuttered out of his mouth, anxiety plaguing his voice. He didn't like where this was leading. The strong man looked down at Hiroshi, rolled his eyes, and addressed his outlook on the situation.
"There is only one possible explanation for this. A demon has landed on our doorstep! No Acebian person lands from that height and lives! I say we take him directly to the Darkness Demon!" the buff man yelled triumphantly. There was a slight pause for a moment, before a large cheer came from the small crowd.
"Yeah! We should do that!" they yelled in unison.
"W-Wait! I came from another world! I'm no demon!" Hiroshi retorted back in desperation. He had to say it, or else it sounds like he would definitely be in for a world of hurt.
"As if we would believe that ridiculous story! You demons have terrorized us for so long! Let's see how you like it when your eaten by a vicious beast!" the strong man growled, dragging Hiroshi further and further away from the dirt path.
"Wait! Please! You have to believe me!" Hiroshi cried out, but it was no use. "That's just it. Humans are selfish in every world. Every universe. Every reality. They all care about themselves and don't care about trying to see the bigger picture. No one will help me or speak up for me or try pulling me away. I'm once again a puppet used to get satisfaction from other people's depression," Hiroshi thought to himself. He hated them. He thought he had landed in a new world to be given a second chance at life. However, it was exactly the same as his old world.
He gave up struggling as he was dragged to a wooden stage. It was all rotten and seemed used. There was a figure chained up to a solid surface. It had the shape of a human, but it processed no physical facial features of a human. It had no eyes, ears, nose, mouth or eyebrows. It had a dark aura emitting from it and was covered head to toe in darkness itself. If death wasn't the Grim Reaper, this was death.
"The Darkness Demon eats evil people like you every day! The worst criminals are often taken here from the capital to our little village to be slaughtered brutally by this creature!" the man carrying Hiroshi laughed as he chained the helpless young man beside the entity. Hiroshi didn't even bother to fight back. He gave up. He couldn't live like this anymore. No one had ever given him attention or love. Abandoned. Unloved. Forgotten.
"Just kill me quickly, please," Hiroshi smiled warmly at the entity, staring directly into where it's eyes should have been. The so called "Darkness Demon" seemed to start molding towards Hiroshi, consuming him whole. It was a painless process. A single tear ran down Hiroshi's rosy cheek. Finally, at last, he could be at peace.
He found himself in the darkness. He couldn't get over how bleak this reality of death was. There was nothing out there. Just him, all alone. He sighed. Of course that would happen.
"At least it's better than dealing with those damn humans again," he growled. "I hate them. No one wanted to hear me out. I know my story was ridiculous, but they never even questioned the idea! I hate humans!" he yelled out into the endless void. There shouldn't have been a response.
"You're perfect," a voice growled from the darkness. "I like you."
