Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Where It All Began

Have you ever met someone so quiet... that even their silence feels like a story?

Let me take you to a small, forgotten village called Elderwood.

The sun had just begun to rise. Birds were singing softly. Kids were laughing in the distance. Everything looked peaceful... normal. But hidden in that calm was a boy—a boy who had no idea that fate... was on its way to him.

His name... was Evan.

Just ten years old. Thin. Quiet. The kind of kid who didn't say much, but when he did—you listened.

He lived with his grandmother, Martha. After losing his parents in an accident when he was just a baby, she became his whole world. And he? He became hers.

Every morning, he'd help her in the garden... fetch water... then sit under a big old tree, just watching the clouds. People often said, "That boy's different. Always lost in thought."

But he wasn't lost.

He was waiting… without even knowing it.

Meanwhile... far from that little village, something big was happening in the royal palace.

The Kingdom was preparing for something called The Festival of Unity. Every five years, the King and Queen would leave their palace… and live among the people—just like them. No crown. No throne. Just heart-to-heart.

But here's the twist…

They never chose where to stay.

That decision?

It was left to a horse.

Not just any horse… Storm.

Strong. Graceful. And somehow… always guided by something deeper.

And this time… Storm was headed straight to Elderwood.

---

The village exploded with excitement. Everyone was decorating their homes, preparing sweets, and whispering dreams of royalty knocking at their doors.

But Evan?

He just stood there... by the doorway. Quiet. Watching.

And then it happened.

The sound of hooves. Slow. Powerful.

Storm walked past every colorful house, every hopeful face...

And stopped.

Right in front of Evan's home.

The whole village froze.

Even Evan didn't understand why.

Then came the royal carriage. Doors opened.

And out stepped the King and Queen.

No grand gestures. Just warmth in their eyes.

The King looked at Martha's small home… smiled… and asked softly,

"May we?"

Martha's hands were shaking, but she nodded.

"Y-yes… please."

---

That night… something beautiful happened.

Royalty sat on a humble floor, eating food made with love. No guards. No gold. Just people... sharing stories.

They asked about Evan's parents… and Martha told them the truth.

And then… the Queen looked at Evan and whispered,

"He doesn't speak much?"

Martha smiled. "He speaks… when it matters."

Later, the King found Evan outside, sitting under the moonlight.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked.

And Evan said something that stayed with him forever—

"I wonder if the moon ever feels lonely…"

The King paused… then said,

"Maybe. But maybe not… if someone down here is thinking about it."

And Evan… smiled.

---

Over the next few days, things changed.

Evan started to open up.

He laughed. He showed the Queen how to plant flowers.

He listened to the King's stories like they were treasures.

And slowly… a bond formed.

Not between a King and a boy.

But between two hearts.

A family… that didn't need blood to feel real.

---

But then... came goodbye.

The carriage was ready. The festival was over.

They hugged Martha. Thanked her.

And then looked at Evan.

He didn't say anything. Just nodded… with tears in his eyes.

And as the carriage left… he ran behind it.

Only for a moment.

The Queen looked back from the window… her eyes full.

And the King? He said what they both felt—

"I feel like we're leaving something behind."

She answered softly,

"Or someone."

---

Back in the palace... nothing felt the same.

They missed the boy who had said almost nothing…

But had left behind everything.

And then… came the news.

Martha was ill.

Very ill.

The King and Queen didn't wait. They rushed to Elderwood.

In a small dim room, they found her.

Frail. Tired. But still smiling.

"You came…" she whispered.

The Queen held her hand tightly.

And Martha asked the one thing that had been haunting her.

"What will happen to him… when I'm gone?"

There was a pause.

Then the King said,

"We've thought about him every day since we left. But… we'll only take him if he wants to come. If you bless it. If he says yes."

Martha turned to Evan.

"My boy… I gave you all I could. But your life is meant for more."

Evan's voice cracked,

"I don't want to leave you…"

She smiled through her tears.

"You're not leaving me. You're taking me… with you. Always."

And with that, she placed his hand into the Queen's…

And peacefully… she left.

---

There were no royal trumpets.

Just a boy… being held by the Queen like a mother would.

And the King whispering softly,

"You won't be alone anymore."

And that…

That's how it all began.

The story of a quiet village boy...

Who was about to become something far greater.

To be contained.....
