Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: A Mind Expanding

Elen returned from the library with his arms full of books, a sense of excitement bubbling inside him. He couldn't wait to delve into the worlds of mathematics and astronomy, to unravel the mysteries of numbers and the cosmos.

Back in the quiet sanctuary of his room, Elen spread the books across his desk. The titles alone were enough to ignite his curiosity: "Algebra: A Beginner's Guide," "Geometry: The Language of Space," "Astrophysics for Young Adults," and "The Grand Atlas of the Universe." He picked up the algebra book first, flipping through the pages and scanning the equations and formulas.

Alright, Core, he thought, let's see what you can do with this.

He directed the Core to create a comprehensive learning program for him, starting with the fundamentals of algebra and gradually progressing to more advanced concepts. He instructed it to highlight key information, provide interactive examples, and quiz him on his understanding.

The results were astonishing. The Core processed the information at an incredible speed, breaking down complex equations into simple, easy-to-understand steps. Elen found himself effortlessly grasping concepts that would normally take weeks or even months to master. It was like having a super-powered tutor who could anticipate his questions and tailor the learning experience to his exact needs.

He breezed through the first few chapters, solving equations and manipulating variables with ease. He marveled at the elegance and logic of algebra, the way it could describe the relationships between numbers and quantities with such precision.

Next, he turned his attention to the geometry book. He had always been fascinated by shapes and patterns, but he had never truly understood the underlying principles. The Core transformed his learning experience, bringing geometry to life with interactive 3D models and simulations. Elen could visualize complex geometric figures, rotate them in space, and explore their properties from every angle. He discovered the beauty of Euclidean geometry, the elegance of proofs, and the endless possibilities of geometric constructions.

As he delved deeper into the books, Elen's mind expanded at an incredible rate. He felt like he was unlocking hidden chambers of knowledge, each one more fascinating than the last. The Core's ability to process and synthesize information was truly remarkable. It could connect seemingly disparate concepts, identify hidden patterns, and provide insights that were far beyond the reach of his unaided human intellect.

A new idea began to form in Elen's mind. He realized that the Core's capabilities extended far beyond just helping him with his homework. It could be a key to unlocking all the knowledge in the world.

Core, he thought, is it possible for you to scan the entire library?

Affirmative, the Core responded. I can interface with the library's digital catalog and access the full text of every book. I can then process the information and store it in my memory banks. However, I must emphasize that I can only scan and process the information. The learning and understanding must be done by you. I can tailor a course for you, but you have to walk the path yourself. Also, initiating a full scan of the library would require a significant amount of my processing power, which is tied to your magical capacity. I estimate it would take approximately two weeks to scan all the books, and it would tax your magical reserves considerably.

Elen's eyes widened with excitement. The possibilities were limitless. He could learn everything about everything, simply by having the Core scan and process the information. He could become the most knowledgeable person in the world, a true polymath with a mastery of every subject imaginable.

But as the initial euphoria subsided, a sense of caution crept into Elen's thoughts. He remembered the warnings from his past life, the dangers of relying too much on technology, of losing his humanity in the pursuit of knowledge. He knew that he had to be careful, that he had to use the Core's abilities responsibly.

He decided to proceed slowly, to start by scanning a small section of the library and gradually expand his efforts as he became more comfortable with the process and as his magical capacity grew. He also resolved to continue his own independent learning, to read and study on his own, without relying entirely on the Core. He wanted to use the Core to augment his knowledge, not to replace his own thinking.

With a plan in mind, Elen directed the Core to begin the scanning process. He imagined the vast amount of information flowing into his mind, like a river of knowledge, and he felt a sense of awe and anticipation. He was embarking on a new journey, a quest for understanding that would shape his destiny in ways he couldn't yet imagine.

This is incredible, Elen thought, a mix of excitement and trepidation swirling within him. But the Core was right. I can't just have it dump all of the world's knowledge into my head. I have to be the one to learn it, to truly understand it. That means I'll have to prioritize. Focus on what's most important, what resonates most with my goals. I can't learn everything at once. Guess I'll start with Maths and Sciences for now.
