Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The First Step

**Chapter 1: The First Step**

**[Hello everyone, my name is Bell Cranel. Those who know me well just call me Bell.]**

**[As you all know, I'm a "world-crosser." But instead of becoming some overpowered hero, I let myself be blinded by desire and curiosity, ultimately choosing this one-way journey through dimensions.]**

A fourteen-year-old boy with white hair and crimson eyes named Bell Cranel wrote in his diary on his second day in this new world.

It's true—serious people don't keep diaries. They expose too much. If anyone read this, it'd be social suicide... but Bell was never one to take things too seriously.

Being alone in this unfamiliar magical world had shaken his worldview to its core. To ease the pressure in his chest, he needed an outlet for the things he couldn't—or didn't dare—say aloud.

---

Keeping a diary was the best solution.

The cabin was sparsely furnished—just two beds, a table with chairs, and a fireplace. Bell settled near the fire's warmth.

**[The free first draw always guarantees a five-star item.]**

**[I thought I'd get a Servant, but it turned out to be an outfit.]**

**[Luckily, it's a five-star outfit perfectly suited to my current stats—and it came fully enhanced.]**

**[Probably the biggest perk this Fate System has given me so far.]**

Bell sighed deeply as he wrote.

**["Solo Training": Gain massive EXP through combat.]**

**[This must be a substitute for "Instinct," to prevent me from awakening premature skills.]**

**[With this five-star outfit, I can grow stronger quickly even without joining a Familia.]**

His crimson eyes flickered with melancholy and pain as he reached this point.

**[One draw costs 1,000 valis right now—and that's discounted due to restrictions. Once the limit lifts, each draw will cost 10,000 valis... The funding gap is brutal.]**

**[So becoming an adventurer is my only real choice.]**

Bell set down the pen and carefully stored the notebook in the **"dimensional storage"** provided by the **Fate System**, ensuring no one could read his innermost thoughts.

The firelight cast a red glow on his face. He rubbed his hands together and held them toward the flames. The wooden cabin barely retained heat—without the fireplace, surviving the cold would've been impossible.

"Next step: head to **Orario**."

But a trace of unease lingered in his heart.

"I hope this is the right decision."

"Need to sleep. Have to leave early tomorrow."

Between anticipation and anxiety, Bell soon fell into a deep slumber.

---

At dawn, after finishing his preparations, Bell took one last look at the cabin.

"Won't be seeing you for a long time. Hope I can return someday."

"Goodbye."

When a man makes a decision, he shouldn't second-guess himself. Doubt only breeds hesitation, forcing him to re-evaluate everything—a pointless exercise.

At life's crossroads, you only need one choice. Too many options just complicate things.

Once you've chosen a path, don't waver. Hesitation brings confusion, and overthinking becomes an obstacle.

Forget the unnecessary alternatives. Focus on the road you chose from the start.

Bell didn't look back. He set out with a mix of hope and apprehension for what lay ahead.

In the distance, **Babel Tower** loomed as his ultimate destination.

No room for distractions now—just forward motion.

Leaving the village felt like stepping from the countryside into the big city.

Though "transportation" to **Orario** left much to be desired—he'd have to walk. With a carriage, the **thirty-kilometer** trip would've been a quick nap.

"Downside of remote villages: can't even find a damn horse."

On horseback, crossing the forest would take under half a day. On foot? No idea how long.

But one thing was certain: **camping in the forest at night would be suicide**.

He had to push through today and find open plains to make camp.
