Red hair! That means the person has red hair, alright!
Give me a break... Dammit, what nonsense am I spouting?
Red hair is rare in the Land of Rain, and one of the trademarks of the Uzumaki Clan is red hair!
Kaze scratched his head. "Sister Yukino, Uncle Yuto, now that the mission is done, how about you accompany me to check it out?"
"No objections from me either."
"Then let's go!"
While on the way to the location stated in the intelligence, Kaze queried in his mind.
"System, where the hell have you been? Why haven't you given me any multiple-choice questions for so long?"
The System quickly replied, [I do as I please. It's none of your business!]
"Damn it all to hell... " Kaze cussed out the System.
In a cold and gloomy cave in the western part of the Land of Rain, not far from the local market.
Three small figures huddled around the fire. They tightened their thin, tattered clothes, but still shivered in the cold wind.
"It's so cold. I wish I had a new coat!" A little girl with light purple hair said with a longing look on her face.
As she said that, she snuggled closer to her two mates, trying to soak up some heat.
"Rather than a new coat, I'd much rather have a big meal," an orange-haired little boy sneered.
Then he looked at the red-haired boy a bit older than him. "What about you, Nagato? What do you want?"
The red-haired boy's eyes were hidden by his bangs, and only a shy smile on his lips could be seen. It was Nagato whom Kaze was looking for.
"As long as I can be with Konan, Yahiko, and Little One, that's enough."
Not far away, the yellow Akita dog heard its name and immediately barked twice, making the three of them burst into laughter.
After the laughter subsided, the three of them became downcast again.
Yahiko carefully took out half a loaf of bread from his bosom, as if holding a rare treasure. He sighed and said,
"Alas, we couldn't find any food again this afternoon. This is our dinner for the three of us today."
"Alas." Nagato and Konan sighed along.
Konan stroked her flat belly and said with a worried face,
"I'm so hungry. I've changed my mind. I don't want a new coat anymore. I want a full meal!"
Yahiko divided the bread into four parts. He quietly kept the smallest piece for himself and then gave the rest to Konan, Nagato, and Little One.
"Okay, let's have dinner!" Yahiko clapped his hands and said with a big smile.
Infected by Yahiko, Konan and Nagato also involuntarily smiled. "Okay, let's eat!"
Yahiko took a big bite of the bread. "What I'm eating is not bread but a big drumstick. Juices are dripping down when I take a bite!"
Konan took a bite of the bread and sipped some rainwater she had collected. Following suit, she said, "What I'm drinking is not rainwater but fragrant chicken soup... Hmm?"
Konan wrinkled her delicate nose twice and then said with a bit of confusion, "Am I having hallucinations from hunger? Why do I seem to really smell the aroma of chicken soup?"
Nagato and Yahiko glanced at each other and said uncertainly, "I seem to... smell it too."
The three of them turned around simultaneously, only to see a figure appear at the cave entrance, carrying a thermos in hand.
The delicious aroma was wafting from there!
"Hey hey hey, here comes the chicken soup~"
The figure uttered some strange words and slowly walked towards them.
"Who... who are you!" The three of them stood up nervously, their hearts in their mouths.
It wasn't until the firelight shone on the other person that the figure became clearer. They found that the other person was just a child, and the uneasiness in their hearts dissipated a bit.
However, the three of them still remained vigilant.
Yahiko stepped in front of the other two. Looking at the guy who was much older than them, he asked, pretending to be brave but actually feeling timid inside.
"Who are you? What do you want here?"
The person who came was naturally Kaze, who had followed the scent and rushed here.
Actually, earlier, he had already locked in the whereabouts of the three children, but he didn't come directly. Instead, he took a detour to buy some food before coming again.
I gotta say, with his current speed, it's a waste not to be a delivery guy... Anyway, that's off - topic.
Bringing a big meal to three hungry children is bound to help build a closer relationship between them.
Kaze waved the thermos in his hand and showed a kind smile, "How about we sit down and have a chat while eating?"
After saying that, he sat directly on the ground, opened the thermos, and served himself a bowl of chicken soup on his own.
"Drinking this chicken soup is such a wonderful thing!"
Kaze gulped down the warm chicken soup, smacking his lips from time to time. Seeing him devouring the food, the three little ones couldn't help but swallow their saliva.
Konan was the first to lose her self - control. She took two steps forward, sat beside Kaze, and asked curiously, "Big brother, who on earth are you?"
"Konan, you...!" Yahiko quickly followed and plopped down between Kaze and Konan.
Seeing this, Nagato also walked over and silently sat beside them.
"Me? Well, gobble gobble, I have some ties with this guy." Kaze said while eating the chicken and tilted his head towards Nagato.
Some ties with Nagato?
Yahiko and Konan looked at Nagato with a puzzled look on their faces.
Nagato shook his head slightly. He had never seen this person before, and he had no idea where the so - called ties came from.
"Alright." Kaze showed the empty bowl to the three of them and said, "Let's start eating first. I'll tell you slowly."
Konan looked tempted. After looking at the chicken soup emitting an alluring smell, she finally gave in.
"Okay then, let's start eating. Thank you, big brother!"
Yahiko opened his mouth but finally said nothing.
Konan happily fetched three sets of chopsticks and bowls, and started scooping up the meat into the bowls in a hurry.
Seeing this, Kaze reminded, "Serve less. You've been hungry for so long. You can't eat too much meat for the first time. Your stomach won't be able to digest it."
"I understand. Don't worry, big brother!" Konan replied cheerfully. She served two bowls of chicken soup and distributed them to Nagato and Yahiko.
The moment Yahiko held the bowl of chicken soup in his hand, he suddenly thought that Kaze might really be a good person.
Nagato glanced at the eager Little One and timidly asked, "Big brother, can we share some of this chicken soup with Little One?"
"If it's not allowed, I'll leave some from my bowl for it..."
Kaze waved his hand and said boldly, "Help yourselves. There's plenty. If you're still hungry, I'll buy more for you."
"Yeah, long live big brother!" Konan cheered happily.
For them, who often went hungry or overate, the allure of this bowl of chicken soup was really too great!
Yahiko took a sip of the chicken soup, suppressing the sense of comfort in his body and mind. Then he looked at Kaze again and said,
"Big brother, now can you tell us who you are and what your relationship with Nagato is?"
"No problem." Kaze nodded and said with a smile, "First of all, you can rest assured that I'm a very gen[tle]..."
"Woof woof woof!"
Just then, for some unknown reason, Little One suddenly started barking at Kaze.
Without hesitation, Kaze gave it a hard whack on the nose and said, "What the hell are you yapping for?"
After the whack, Kaze turned around and looked at the three people who were completely confused. He said somewhat puzzledly,
"Why are you all looking at me like that? Oh, where was I just now?"
"Ah, I remember! You can rest assured. I'm a very gentle and kind person."
Yahiko and the other two: "..."
Little One would be the first to disagree with what you're saying!
