The rich get richer.
One of the many sayings that define the world we live in.
A rather pessimistic one... or a rather realistic one, perhaps?
It was just one of the many that managed to stick out from the rest—as many had doomed themselves to believe that their life and fate were inevitable.
That nothing they did would ever matter in the end.
These people believed that those who didn't have the resources nor wealth would never climb out of the hole of poverty they'd been trapped in...
And those who already had an abundance of them would simply climb even higher—
Higher than even the heavens themselves...!
Thus... these people, or humanity as a whole, perhaps, had learned to accept this truth.
Adapted to it.
Understood their reality.
That the world was simply... unfair.
For those who still held some semblance of hope?
They could try to claw their way out of this hellhole called 'poverty.'
Tooth and nail, inch by inch...
It was never impossible, but... rarely did anyone ever actually succeed.
Or... perhaps, they could pray.
Pray—and keep praying to the gods above—
That They would bless them, grant them a stroke of fortune... and lift them out of that hell they'd been stuck in for so long...
But then...
One day...
The day when humanity truly stood as equals.
The sky turned dark.
No clouds. No sun. No stars. No space—just an endless abyss.
And as the world was swallowed by darkness... a fallen god descended upon Earth.
The God of Chaos.
He cursed the heavens above—the gods above—and he cursed the humans that the gods had created.
And with his arrival... came chaos.
The Earth trembled by his trickery. Its very foundation twisted and broke apart as the lands themselves moved—shifted—until all that once stood apart became one.
Continents that had been divided by vast, endless oceans collided, merging into a single, boundless landmass.
"Just like it used to be."
But its unification brought only devastation. Entire civilizations crumbled—swallowed by the upheaval of the 'new' Earth.
Countless lives were lost in the chaos.
And yet... the disaster had only begun.
For the God of Chaos had one final act to "bestow" upon humanity.
Another chaos erupted from beneath—!
The ground split open, giving birth to countless bottomless pits—gateways to the abyss itself...!
Dungeons.
And from the depths, they emerged.
Monsters.
Creatures of nightmare and legend. Beasts from fairy tales, myths, and forgotten lore, now set loose upon reality.
They rampaged across the land, laying waste to everything in their path. Cities fell. Nations burned—
The world was consumed by chaos.
No man-made weapon could stop them—not even the hidden doomsday arsenals of the governments.
Not even nuclear fire could stop these chaos incarnates.
Against these beings of chaos... humanity was powerless.
And as the last bastions of civilization stood on the brink of collapse...
Wealth held no power against the monsters.
Authority held no power against the monsters.
No mortal strength was ever enough.
And for the first time... humanity was truly equal.
Equal in fear.
Equal in despair.
Equal in death.
And in their final moments... they had only one thing left...
Prayer.
The gods above had long been silent. So, humanity prayed.
They pleaded. They begged.
They called out to the heavens above.
They prayed... and prayed... and prayed...
Until their voices, as one, finally reached the heavens—!
And eventually... the gods answered.
They did not abandon their creations.
And in their mercy... three gods descended to aid humanity.
The God of War.
The God of Merchants.
The God of Trials and Games.
They graced humanity with their presence, and with their combined divinity, they granted humanity one final chance—one final hope.
"Sacrifice your wealth to the gods," the very gods themselves spoke, "and in return, we shall grant you power."
They granted humanity power—
A system.
The M-System.
A system that allowed them to exchange their wealth for strength.
And within it—
The Golden M-Card.
Through it, they could exchange their riches for 'Contribution Points'—
C-Points, the currency of the divine.
And with C-Points... they could transcend their mortal limits.
They could fight back.
And so, with newfound power, humanity rose once more.
Armed with the power of the M-System, they drove the monsters back into the depths from which they came!
And humanity... was saved.
...But not yet.
The dungeons remained. They scarred the surface of the 'New' Earth.
They did not vanish.
They still churned out monsters, again and again...
A never-ending tide of chaos.
And so, to end this cycle once and for all...
Humanity descended into the depths from which the chaos was born.
And there, they found more than just monsters...
They found wealth beyond imagination.
Gold. Treasures. Relics of untold power.
And they found that those who wielded an M-Card and slew the monsters within...
Were rewarded with even more riches—! And, of course... more C-Points, which they would use to gain more power...!
The stronger the monster, the greater the rewards... the greater the power.
And with that discovery... came a new age.
An era of dungeons—an era of mercenaries—an era of merchants—
An era of greed.
Chaos had not left them... it had merely changed its shape—molded into the reality of which humanity had unknowingly embraced.
A reality molded by greed!
The RICH get RICHER.
The STRONG get STRONGER.
And with these new realities...
The weak and the poor, once crushed beneath the weight of inequality, found themselves in an even crueler world.
Those with nothing... had even less.
Those with everything... took even more—gained even more!
The M-System, once a beacon of hope that had saved humanity from the brink of extinction...
Had now become shackles of a different kind.
A system governed by wealth.
A system that decided who rose and who fell.
A system that ruled the world with cold, hard cash.
And nothing would ever change this cruel new world again...
But—
Among those who played by its rules...
There was one who would break them.
An anomaly.
A deviation to the system.
A force that would shatter everything the system had built.
One man.
A man whose greed may surpass that of all humanity's greed combined
A man who would not bow, who would not trade, who would not bargain.
He would NOT ask.
He would JUST TAKE.
Money? Power?
No.
Everything.
This man would TAKE THEM ALL.
And his name was—
