Glyn.
"Today's atmosphere seems fascinating!" I exclaimed, admiring the atmosphere with my window curtains drawn open and clipped to each end of the pole. "The deities on the other end must be overjoyed. It's CLIPE'S DAY Today since Eclipse occurred yesterday, meaning the disastrous king ruling over the deities is dead." I thought frankly still gazing at the firmament. Deities are said to be small gods so they reside somewhere above the blue sky called "THE HORIZON." They rarely visit Earth because it's prohibited; they also believe that Earth is dangerous and inhabitable for them...
"I've always wished to visit the horizon though..." I heaved a sigh trying to feel unbothered by my thoughts....
I'm Glyn Kirk; according to my mom, I'm the only daughter of my parents; my dad is a deity, and my mom is human. My dad died while I was young and my mom filled in his position and responsibilities ever since then. How Dad arrived on Earth still remains a mystery in history because no deity is allowed to live on Earth, not to mention have a family on Earth, but I guess love is a beautiful thing....
I'm 18 years old, with black layered wavy hair reaching my shoulder length, my eyeballs are black but often turn red occasionally, my lips are small bow-shaped and pink in colour... I attend CROWNLAKE ACADEMY, one of the top 3 most popular academies in Scotland. Since my 9th grade, there have been rumours about some supernatural kids in the academy, but since I haven't encountered one other than myself, I label those rumours false... Nature has been fair to me so far but I guess it's time for a change from nature...
I walked hastily out of my room to check on my mom, who had been terribly sick for some days now... Her condition is really despicable and terrifying.
"Mom! We have to go to the hospital... your condition isn't getting any better but worse.." I yelled almost calmly as tears formed beneath my eyes...
Her voice trying to fight its way out of her throat, "Glyn, listen to me... this same disease killed your father....although he was a deity, nothing cured it completely, it only suppresses the pain ... the cure to this illness can only be obtained from the tree of life, the location is unknown and only a few people know of its existence..." rubbed her palm softly on my chin "You're too young for the dangers attached to the cure my sweet girl, even though I leave this world...." she coughs "I'll never leave you, I might not appear physically but I'm with you in spirit, dreams, and every step of your life..." she reassured me, coughing out blood holding her left rib tightly. "They are coming...they are ....ne...near.." she gasped.
Immediately mom said this, the gracious atmosphere transformed into night.
"Mom! Who is coming? Why does it seem like we are at night?" I asked in panic trying to catch my breathe.
She coughed. "I don't have much strength left in me again.....go over to that box" She pointed her index finger at the treasure box in the corner of her room. Take the mirror and go meet Granny at Grampian.... she... will...tell....yo ...you.. mo...more.." she muttered.
This is unbelievable, I can't phantom what's happening?...it's night, thunder's striking, mom's panting, everything is so complicated.
She smiled "You can't understand... You have to go now love, they are so near.. I can sense their footsteps." She gasped a bit with her eyes closed... "Go now, hurry!" She exclaimed sharply.
"Mom, I ca..."
"I know what you're about to say baby, It's not your fault at all, it's mine... I caused this" She shrugged in pain as tears rolled down her eyes...
"I'm sorry I have to leave like this Glyn...make sure you guard the mirror with your life and never show your true identity in public." She sobs, creating a portal with her index finger...
"This portal will lead you to a road... from there, find your way to Grampian..." She coughed out a huge pool of blood. "You have to go, it's the last ounce of power in me that's holding the portal from closing up... If you don't leave now, we'll both die here.....and you won't be able to perform the duty assigned to you...Go now!" She looked down...
"Mom!?" I sobbed in panic, shaking her back and forth...
I cried, walking slowly towards the portal, deliberating whether to leave or not.....
