Chapter 1 - 1: The Beginning of the Dimensional Journey

Haruki was just an ordinary student at an ordinary university. Like most others, he spent his days lazing around in his dorm, letting his youth slip away. In a world where connections meant everything, he had no influential background, no wealthy friend willing to go to extremes for him like in those novels, and no miraculous encounter with a rich, beautiful girl who would suddenly change his life. Most likely, after graduation, he'd settle into a plain, uneventful life like so many others.

But fate is a mysterious thing. No one could have expected that something capable of changing Haruki's destiny would suddenly descend upon him.

Haruki was a hardcore anime fan, spending nearly all his time in the dorm watching anime.

That day, after finishing the recently popular Akame ga Kill, Haruki leaned back in his chair, still emotional over the tragic deaths of the cute girls in the show. As he shifted, he accidentally knocked over a glass of water sitting at the edge of the desk. The water spilled directly onto the power strip connected to his computer.

In an instant, a surge of electricity burst from the outlet. Haruki barely had time to yell, "Shit!" before everything went black.

"Ugh…"

No one knows how much time passed before Haruki slowly came to.

All around him was an endless sea—clear blue waters meeting a brilliant sky, with white clouds drifting in a sky as deep as gemstones. It was stunning, the kind of beauty no longer seen in the polluted modern world.

But before he could take in the view, he screamed in shock.

"What's going on? Wasn't I just electrocuted?" Haruki thought.

Looking around, he found himself lying on the surface of the sea. Strangely, he wasn't sinking, and even when he moved, the water didn't ripple at all.

As he tried to wrap his head around this bizarre phenomenon, everything suddenly changed. The calm sea turned violent, the skies above howled with wind—and to Haruki's horror, he began to sink.

"Help!"

He cried out, but no one responded. Just as despair took hold and his consciousness began to fade, a cold voice echoed in his ears. It wasn't loud, but it pierced straight into his soul, instantly clearing his mind.

"Young man, you should understand—you're already dead. But if I gave you a chance to live again, would you choose to return to your ordinary, peaceful life? Or would you rather start over in another world? It could be full of excitement, but danger will always be near. Even I won't be able to help you then."

As an otaku, Haruki quickly understood—he'd been transported, just like in all those novels. And this time, he got to choose.

He asked, "Who are you? Why are you helping me?"

"You don't need to know that. Just know you're lucky. Asking too much won't do you any good."

Haruki thought that made sense. He was already dead, and there wasn't much left to lose. Besides, what reason would the voice have to lie?

Realizing what this meant, he felt a rush of excitement. He was actually experiencing the dream of countless anime fans—transmigration.

"I want to go to another world," Haruki said firmly. "Even if it's dangerous, I don't want to go back to that dull life."

"Good. I knew I wasn't wrong about you. As a reward for becoming a transmigrator, I'll let you choose the world you want to go to, and I'll give you a System. The rest is up to you."

The voice even sounded a little pleased.

Haruki was no stranger to Systems. Thinking about the tragic fates of the girls in Akame ga Kill, he made his decision.

"I choose to go to the world of Akame ga Kill. I want to save them."

"Alright, as you wish."

With that simple reply, a mysterious black hole appeared in front of Haruki and instantly sucked him in.

After Haruki vanished, the once-stormy sea gradually calmed, as if nothing had ever happened...
