Inside the crumbling dungeon, Nina sliced through another wave of low-level monsters, her blade gliding through their bodies with practiced ease.
But despite how many she'd taken down, it didn't feel like progress.
The corridors looked the same. The air reeked of blood and rot. She felt like a rat trapped in an endless maze.
She clicked her tongue and growled.
"This is getting ridiculous."
[You're wasting time. Find the core if you want to leave.]
Her Patron said flatly, voice ringing in her head.
"I'm trying, thank you very much. It's not my fault this place has the layout of a tangled shoelace."
Nina snapped.
The moment the words left her mouth, a sharp pressure washed over her. She froze. Something was coming. Something strong.

She began.
