That night, Edwin returned to the manor. He could no longer ignore the truth: something awakened with his grandfather's death.
At three in the morning, he awoke to the sound of footsteps in the hallway. He opened his bedroom door slowly and saw shadows moving on their own.
There was a woman standing at the end of the hallway. Tall. Slim. Her long hair covered half her face. Her eyes glowed blood-red.
She spoke in a melodious yet sharp voice: "You are the heir of blood. And blood... is a debt."
"Who are you?"
"I am Lilith. I am hunger. I saved your grandfather many times. And I have come to collect the sacrifice."
He approached her hesitantly, but as he got closer... she vanished. Leaving behind a scent of sulfur and fear.
In the morning, he found his only friend from the old school, Alexander, at the manor's door.
Alexander said, "I dreamed of you. Something is happening, isn't it?"
Edwin, who hadn't told anyone, froze in place.
"I saw you... blood pouring from your eyes. And there was a woman standing behind you. Whispering something to you."
Edwin looked at the sky and said, "It wasn't a dream."
