The year was still 1999. Homura was preparing everything for her daughter's arrival before she'd come into the world. It was a proud yet horrific feeling as she was having to raise a kid all on her own.
She put a box of every little trace from Luo she had into the attic. Gifts, letters, any little thing that she had was easily hidden away where nobody could find it. Homura knew she'd have to tell her daughter someday in the future, but that time would certainly not be now.
Afterwards, Homura headed to the hospital the moment she knew she was going into labor. She was ready to meet her daughter for the first time.
Cries filled the hospital room as Homura took deep breaths. Once the worst of it had been over, she stared at her beautiful daughter. She could already tell the baby had these magnificent light cyan eyes like the beautiful water Lillies.
"Betty…my beautiful little girl…" she mutters, a smile beginning to form on her face. As similar as this child was to her, there was a secret she had yet to reveal. Her daughter would now hold divine powers. The main reason Homura knew was because Betty was born at the exact time the town in which Homura had come from was able to find food for the town!
Homura's thoughts would suddenly shift to Luo and how happy he would have been to meet Betty. She could imagine the way they'd both be smiling as they looked at their daughter, wondering what kind of future she'd have. She knew he'd have loved her as much as she did. But she knew she couldn't go back now. She had to forever live with the guilt of leaving her family and friends behind.
However, Homura knew she'd tell Betty about that life she once lived when she was older and wiser. Perhaps one day she'd reunite with her lover and introduce Betty to her father.
"Mommy, mommy!" Two children exclaimed as they ran in. The two children appeared to be twins, both with a silver hair color and honey colored eyes. It didn't take long for her to recognize the two. The boy she recognized to be Daiwen with the girl as Lon. They were from Homura's previous relationship before Luo. It was enough to make Homura realize she hadn't been a responsible teen as she had the twins at the young age of 16.
Lon and Daiwen ran to see Betty, almost immediately acknowledging the child she held. It didn't take a genius to realize that this child she held would be their sibling. The thought alone of being an older sibling thrilled the two.
"What's her name?" Daiwen asked as he tilted his head to the side like a curious innocent puppy, his eyes fixated on the baby.
"Betty." Homura smiled, watching as Lon went to hold Betty's small tiny hand in her own.
"Let's call her Betts! You know, for a nickname!" Lon beamed with excitement as she'd look to her mother for her approval. Homura simply just watched how the twins interact with their newborn little sister, thinking to herself that maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.
