Hi everyone! If you're reading this, that means you're either interested in what you saw or are completely bored with what you're currently reading and want something new. So, without further ado, something new!
Whatever the reason, thanks for clicking on my novel. Before we start with Alex's journey, I've a few notes so everyone doesn't come in with unreasonable expectations or thinking this novel is something it's not.
First off, every chapter is going to be roughly 2000 words long. A few of the beginning ones are shorter, and some of the others will be longer. But the benchmark is going to be ~2000 words, if not more.
Next, there are mature themes in this novel! If you are not of age (or mature enough) to handle such material, I would recommend clicking off. And no, I don't mean mature themes as in the snu snu. I don't have plans to include any descriptive erotic scenes. There may be typical romantic gestures and themes of romance, but unless I have a change of heart, any scene that goes too far will be a fade to black. Sorry to disappoint.
As for those "mature" themes, if I feel any chapter needs a warning, I will leave it on that chapter. Just know, that some things may get very dark.
(AND NO, I DON'T PLAN ON THIS BEING A HAREM NOVEL EITHER) Things may change my mind later on down the line as the story progresses, but for now I am simply focused on the MC and telling his story. Not how he tries to bed every single female that looks his way.
3rd (or whatever point I'm on now) there will be some heavy world building early on to explain how things work and how I'm going to operate. You may notice similarities to other novels with systems, but that's just the nature of the genre I'm afraid. I want to set up things so that I don't get to chapter 100 and still have things to answer like, "Why is there magic in this place, but not here" or something like that.
I've given up on keeping track of my points now, but the MC is not going to be a goody two shoes. Yes yes, very original Mr. author. Another morally grey character. Sorry not sorry, it's more fun to write that way. If you're looking for a holier than thou "I must save everyone" mentality type of character, then you're in the wrong place. Alex isn't an asshole by default, but he isn't going to have some god complex either. (Keep in mind that the early chapters may depict him in this light, but *spoilers and redacted*)
Things will be slow going for a while before getting into the meat of the actual "game" that is in this novel. Don't expect fast paced insta op character who knows everything and can beat everyone. Alex is a weakling. His mentality is shit. He will suck at what he does and learn how to adapt as things progress. The only thing he is a natural at is being a gamer due to his childhood.
Next up, my writing style. Some of you are going to like it, some of you are probably going to hate it. Idc. Just know that if you see

That is the location where things are taking place. If no location is given, assume it's intentional.
[This indicates the system is either talking or displaying information to Alex or another character.]
That said, Alex is the ONLY ONE with a system. If [This type of wording] is being shown to another character, it means they are being given a notification by the games' menu and in world announcement system, NOT by *The* system given to Alex
This will also be told from a mixture of 3rd person and 1st person POV. Mainly 3rd, but there are moments where Alex's thoughts leak through. I know that grammar wise, it probably doesn't make sense, it's just the way I've chosen to write.
Also, like any author, I am open to feedback and criticism so long as it is not dumbass comments like, "I wanted so and so to do this, and not this. Author, why can't you make them do what I want?" BECAUSE it's my story, and I control the narrative. I am this novels god, don't forget that. But if you have genuine comments, or things you would want to see happen later on in the story, feel free to mention it. I try to make most things make sense within the story itself, but if something isn't adding up or making sense, do leave comments and suggestions.
This is my first novel, and I'm not sure what the plans are for the future, but so long as there is support for this novel, I will keep working on and updating it.
Lastly, (sheesh does this guy ever shut up?) remember to have fun and enjoy the story. It's not gonna make sense sometimes, but it's a power fantasy novel about otherworldly places, characters with crazy godlike powers and monsters that would haunt your nightmares. Not to mention an MC that has a system. It's going to be wacky, it's going to get crazy, so buckle up and enjoy. War of the Realms: Rebirth.
