Chapter 78 - Pillaging

When the world plunged into darkness, and the moon hung above the heavens, Christian became Invisible and entered Hogwarts through a secret passage. He waited in the Potion Master headquarters, which used to be Snape's room.

"Expelliarmus." As soon as he entered the room, Christian disarmed Slughorn. "Not another word or move, Horace."

"This must be a misunderstanding," quickly said the potion master.

"I only need one thing from you: Felix Felicis. You should have a vial stored somewhere. Hand it over, and there will be no issue." Christian pointed his wand, which was covered under his cloak.

"No, no problem."

Slughorn rushed to a cabinet in his room to take out a small vial. With a motion of his wand, the thing flew into Christian's hand, and he opened it to smell.

"Very well."

Christian stunned him before secretly leaving the castle and returning to the inn. It was already midnight by the time he returned, so after his one-hour meditation, he swiftly fell asleep. When Christian woke up the next day, he was rejuvenated and without fatigue; more importantly, his injuries had completely healed.

'It seems now I only need 5 hours of sleep for an entire day of energy,' he concluded, deciding to change his schedule after returning home. His next destination was Oxford University, and his purpose was simple: plundering. He plans to secretly copy all the books in the library to bring back to his aunt so that Massive Dynamic can gain knowledge of the future.

Christian took a cab to his destination and waited until it was nighttime to sneak in. He used the power of the Elder Wand and the Doubling Charm to copy all the books in the library, leaving the original. He did so because he did not want to cause an international incident when the copies disappeared in a few months.

He then copied state-of-the-art research and even stole samples of whatever project he discovered. Once that was done, Christian repeated the process at Cambridge, Imperial College, other companies, and even MI5, as well as numerous British Military Bases. He stole the latest weapons by copying them, taking the real ones, and leaving the copies, as he was unsure whether the copies would pose any technological issues. Christian hoped his aunt could reverse-engineer these things and make Massive Dynamic a global powerhouse in all fields.

Britain was not the only place that suffered. Christian found a rich man with a private plane and Confunded him so he could travel to other countries, such as Germany, France, Russia, the US, Japan, and China. He raided the libraries of the best schools and stole research from universities, companies, government organizations, intelligence agencies, military bases, and private research institutions.

The entire ordeal took him a month, and he broke so many international and ethical rules — including controlling and evading people's minds for information, threats, and many more – that he questioned his morality.

'The good news is I did not hurt a single person,' thought Christian, trying to persuade himself as he finished raiding his last military base in China. He suddenly sensed something and looked over as six wizards had Apparated before him, led by a Chinese wizard and someone Christian recognized: Kingsley Shacklebolt.

'Damn it,' thought Christian.

"Do you have any idea how many laws you've broken?" asked Kingsley.

"How did you find me?" asked Christian.

"Was it hard? You were very sloppy."

In hindsight, Christian realized that was true. He forgot to Obliverate Elizabeth and her husband, and after so many disappearances or thefts from different countries, it was hard for him to remove all traces despite his best efforts.

"Come with us peacefully," said Kingsley.

"I will do no such thing." Christian knew his fate would be sent to Azkaban. Although Kingsley would eventually release the Dementors, that has not happened yet. Additionally, if he's captured, he will lose all his loot. After committing so many unethical crimes, the least he could do was run away with his prize.

"Apprehend him," said Kingsley. All six elite Aurors attacked simultaneously. Christian waved his hand to deflect their spells.

"Dumbledore's wand — so you're the one who stole it."

"I did no such thing," denied Christian, who did not know why he lied. "I took it from a dark wizard who tried to kill me."

The situation was worse than ideal for Christian, who was surrounded by well-trained and experienced wizards while he could not Apparate. Odin's Eye was inside his bag, and he could not distract himself to summon it. The only thing going for him was that these people only wanted to capture him, and he had the Elder Wand.

After protecting himself with a shield, Christian silently cast Bombarda with the help of the wand, trying to use as much power as possible to make up for the gap in number and wake up these Muggle soldiers he had stunned to infiltrate this place. Christian figured he could use them as a distraction to run away.

Unfortunately, His plan failed as these wizards blocked the spell, and no reaction came from outside. Christian mobilized his Legilimency to its full power, looking at these wizards through their eyes and reading their minds. He found a spell he could not recognize and dodged it.

'This fight can't continue for long,' thought Christian, knowing he won't last long.

"Snarr…shiiee,,,siidoou."

"He's a Parseltongue?" asked one of the wizards, wondering why he was speaking in snakes. However, they soon had their answers as hundreds of snakes appeared in the room, rushing towards them.

"What kind of spell is this?"

"It doesn't matter," said Kingsley. "Two people conjure flames to deal with the snake while the rest focus on the target. Spread out to reduce his focus area."

Christian blocked six spells in just a few seconds, forcing him to conjure three Shield Charms. He used the Arrow Shooting Charm, projecting dozens of arrows toward his target. The Aurors blocked them, but that was his plan. He made a swirling motion with his wand, and the arrows turned into ropes that rushed to capture the enemy. Kingsley and the Chinese Auror evaded, but one was captured.

Christian acted swiftly when he noticed the Chinese Wizard was next to a military jeep. He used the Expulso Curse to turn the car's tire into a bomb. To his surprise, the explosion was much more powerful than Christian expected, but the wizard was perfectly intact. A yellow piece of paper with writings that resembled scribbles floated above his head, releasing a visible blue shield.

'Talisman? And it might be an ancient talisman," concluded Christian. When he visited China to tour the Longfeng School of Magic, he read their textbooks, which introduced Talisman Magic. Talismans are essentially paper magical artifacts; a wizard only needs the right material and bewitches it with the corresponding spell to create a talisman. However, that only applies to modern talismans. However, ancient talisman magic, a form of lost magic, used Chinese Runes.

Kingsley created a flame whip around the tip of his wand, which rushed toward Christian, who responded with Aqua Eructo, releasing a jet of water to deal with the flame. His plan failed as the magical flame burned the water and continued toward him.

Christian circled above his head with his wand, and the erupting water covered him like a shield; he then turned it into ice with Freezing Charm. The whip hit the ice shield and, after two attacks, broke it apart. However, Christian was not there as he had already burrowed underground.

These experienced wizards immediately used tracking spells to find him. Still, Christian had already ascended from deep in the earth with a bubble charm on his mouth for air, next to the previously captured wizards. The lad had just freed himself from his chains when Christian disarmed him before using Imperio on him. The man resisted and almost broke free. Luckily, Christian's spell was potent, and he used the Elder Wand.

"Easy," said Kingsley as everyone stopped attacking.

"I only want to leave," said Christian. "Don't interfere, and no one will be hurt. Disapparate us from here," he ordered the captured wizard.

"It's useless. We have already blocked this place with the Anti-Apparition Jinx."

"Then, remove it," ordered Christian. Kingsley looked at the Chinese wizards. They were in his jurisdiction and had to do things based on the Chinese Ministry of Magic rules.

"That's impossible."

"Zhang Jun, do as he said." Kingsley did not want to lose any of his men, especially since this fugitive had never killed anyone, and his crimes mainly were theft and breaking the International Statute of Secrecy. If this man were a cruel, dark wizard, then any price might be worth it to capture him.

"I was ordered to capture him at all costs," replied Zhang Jun. "So, I apologize for your man."

"Don't do this."

"I'm sorry."

"How about this?" said Christian with a frown. "The wand in my hand is the legendary Deathly Hallows, known as the most powerful wand in the world. What do you think would happen if I used a spell, like the Fiendfyre Curse, without any ability to control it? I imagine a few cities would burn before it's stopped, don't you think so?"

"You wouldn't dare!" said Zhang Jun.

"Try me."

"Everyone needs to calm down," said Kingsley. "Zhang Jun, don't make things more complicated than necessary."

Zhang Jun gritted his teeth for a few seconds. "Fine." He raised his wand, which immediately alerted Christian.

"I'm just sending a message." An orange spark flew from his wand to the outside, and after five seconds, Christian ordered his capture to teleport him to the fastest distance he could. He did not stay in the first location and apparated a few times before stopping. However, Christian still did not feel safe.

So, he took a few minutes of rest before ordering the Auror to continue apparating a few more times. Once he felt safe, Christian eliminated some of the auror's memories before knocking him out and leaving him in a safe area.

Christian then transformed into a white German man with human transfiguration and hid in the Muggle World. He found a hotel to stay at and relax while planning his next move.
