Chapter 1 - Attack on Sefirah Castle

On the eve of the New Year, as the banquet of the nobles grew louder and louder reaching it's conclusion. A pitiful soul crossed over into the thunderous room, the sounds of the feet thumping as they performed a beautiful dance grew louder, the laughter echoed and voices grew deep.

In the middle of the room, a handsome face awoke with a hint of weariness, his eyes glanced over the room before he turned sharply and exited the bustling gala.

The man found a quiet room to step into, his hands held onto the door knob shakily as he quickly opened it and entered the room. He laid quietly on the couch as he turned his head up, his eyes watered a bit before he quickly wiped it away.

He was a transmigrator, a man not from this world. He was previously a scholar named Mark Cucksload, a man with a bright future, an avid reader of light novels and one who had recently attempted a luck enhancing ritual from his favorite novel.

He had suddenly awoken in another body, in an unfamiliar place, with unknown memories coming at him like a restless wave. Callian Black, a member of the Black Family, one of the seven Earls of the Loen Kingdom, and recently became the Patriarch of the Black Family after his parents met with a horrific accident days after they engaged him to the daughter of his Father's best friend.

"Any reasons why you've decided to leave the Banquet, Earl Black?"

A sweet voice rang out from the corner of the room, as Mark's eyes wandered to the beautiful figure, she had smooth blonde hair and emerald green eyes. A brown covered book sat on her lap as her hands lightly held the page.

It was his future wife, that's right Mark had been engaged to Backlund's Most Dazzling Gem. Their fathers had been good hunting buddies and had grown up together since their childhood, what better way then to deepen their relationship by engaging their children together.

Damnation, I didn't see her while I was entering, or I definitely would have chosen another room, Mark secretly grumbled.

Mark sighed softly as he spoke with an unshakeable amount of confidence, "Same reason as why you're hiding out here, it's just too noisy out there. Don't you think so too?"

Audrey just gave a soft smile before she focused her attention back onto the book. Mark laid his head on his hands as he gave a soft sigh, which Audrey noticed.

He was stuck in a nauseating world with seemingly no way out. Mark gave a soft sigh, as he inwardly thought to calm down, he was an adult, he could definitely handle this, the first thing to do was to join the Supernatural part of the world.

The world had 22 Pathways which could lead to Divinity, each pathway held numerous advantages and disadvantages. People treading on these Pathways were called Beyonder, as they exceeded human limitation.

The main character of the novel, Klein Moretti chose the Seer Pathway, whose Sequence 0 was called The Fool, he had obtained a cheat in the form of a grey mist which could pull people from all over the world, this led to him establishing his own secret organisation called the Tarot Club.

His goal was to return to his world, but there were many challenges to this, the first were the cosmos, beings who had transcended the Sequence and who wanted to destroy this world, after that came the Evil God's and corruption.

Yet it was still a losing game as it turned out that the world he had existed in was destroyed and had been transformed to the current world. So in the end all his efforts were quite worthless.

Mark as a reader was also both excited and depressed, suddenly realising that you've transmigrated into a new world with supernatural powers was fun and all. But realising that doing so, made you lose your entire future, family and friends quite literally and figuratively crushed you.

Mark, no!, he was now Callian, Callian Black, Patriarch of The Black Family, would now start figuring out what he wanted to do.

His thoughts were quickly disturbed as Audrey gave a slight reminder, "The Banquet's about to end, it's time for us to go."

With that said she took her umbrella and walked towards the door. Callian solemnly nodded at her words, he took a deep breath as he felt his body shivering, with a slight push, he left the comfortable sofa and quickly followed behind.

His steps were paced as he strided in with confidence, a warm smile was plastered on his face as he joined the line which was formed to escort the king out.

As the king passed by, the nobles bowed one by one. Callian himself offered a pleasant smile as he crossed his legs and placed his hand on his chest, offering a gentlemanly bow.

The corner of his eye caught the slender king, he had a stern face and a thin mustache, with curly black locks of hair, he wore brown cowboy boots and had a red robe placed upon his shoulders which had quite a bit of length.

Following him were his 3 sons, Jevington Augustus, Kirie Augustus and finally the third son Eddesak Augustus. After them, the Dukes and Marquess followed, their photos clicked by the paparazzi outside.

Finally it was his turn, Callian departed together with Earl Hall and the other five Earl Families out of the Banquet Hall, each of their carriages were lavious, 4 horses were lined neatly, they were groomed neatly with their manes flushing in the wind.

Their carriages were white in colour and had golden highlights, the family insignias were carved into the middle of the carriage, displaying their noble stature. Earl Hall's insignia was a pink Lotus blooming, with a bee pollinating on it.

Callian's eyes narrowed as he counted only 6 carriages being present, his own carriage being nowhere to be found. Sensing his dilemma, Earl Hall gave him an option, "Since your manor is in the same direction as our's, why don't you travel with us."

Ah yes the infamous side quest, Travelling with the in-laws. Sadly, I have no desire for such matters, and I don't want to spend time talking about how sad it is that my parents died, Callian quietly chided in his mind.

"Thanks for the invitation Earl Hall, but my carriage was just a bit due in its arrival.", Callian politely turned down his offer as he pointed to the black carriage being driven by crystal white horses, the driver seemed to be clearly terrified at being late as he kept wiping his forehead in intervals.

Within moments, the pure black carriage arrived at his footsteps. The Black Family insignia displayed clearly for all to see, it consisted of two black stripes joining together to form a triangle. A deep colour of red filled the inside of the triangle with an armoured raised hand which was armed.

Countless stars filled the red void, displaying numerous victories. Below the black triangle was a beige spot with three ravens, in his 17 years of existence, Callian still did not know the meaning of those 3 ravens.

The coachman seemed to be slightly panicked as he offered a slight bow, "I'm really sorry for being late Young Master, the horses were misbehaving and I was having trouble calming them down."

Callian waved off his apology as he boarded the carriage, he turned to the Hall family and bid them farewell and gave a slight wave.

"...."

The ride back home was unassuming, but viewing his estate in its entirety almost gave him a minor heart attack. It was almost 10 acres of land, enough for a small town to fit in and still be able to give room for more.

His room was immense but also quite modest, a vast wardrobe was laid off to the side with a super caesar size bed. A side table was fixed to the side of the bed as a bookshelf across his bed, in it was countless diaries spanning from when he was 7.

Below that was a vast study table, where countless scrolls were laid out. It seemed that the previous Callian had been researching something before he took over.

Callian sat in bed for a few moments before he sighed, it was really boring. He had nothing to do! Ever since he was a child Callian was a night owl, he couldn't sleep before 11 and couldn't wake up before 9.

Checking his pocket watch, he determined the time was 9:43, with an hour to go before he could even attempt to fall asleep. He hoped that next time he unexpectedly transmigrated m, his phone accompanied him.

Suddenly an idea bore fruit in his mind, if Sefirah Castle had no owners right now, he could try and 'conquer' it. If he succeeded he would definitely pay Klein back in the future for his theft.

As he thought about it once more, he felt it was a reasonable idea. If he was somehow able to claim ownership, it would just be reasonable development, if he got rejected, well it wouldn't hurt to try.

Callian quickly got up from the bed, and exited the room. Instantly, his Butler—Ian seemingly sensed his arrival and exited from his alcove.

"What are you doing here so late, Young Master"

A measured voice rang out in the dimly lit room, Callian walked towards him, "Bring four staples of bread to my room, I have an urgent need for it."

Ian hesitated for a bit before he agreed, and headed out to the storeroom to gather the supplies.

Callian sat down quietly, as the gas lamps above him flickered in intervals, the wind blew cold as the wooden floor was similarly cold.

Considering how huge the mansion is, it makes sense why it's taking so long

After a short wait of ten minutes he could see the distant figure of his Butler and quickly ran up to Ian and grabbed the Bread like a greedy child.

"Young Master, wait!"

Ian tried to call out to him but Callian quickly entered his room and closed the door with a bang. Ian sighed at his antics before he returned back to his alcove.

"...."

Callian quickly darted around the room as he placed it in all four corners. With a deep breath he came to the center and and took a step forward and went in a counter clockwise direction in the shape of a square.

After his first step, Callian quietly whispered, "Blessings Stem From The Immortal Lord of Heaven and Earth."

The second step made him chant once again, "Blessings Stem From The Sky Lord of Heaven and Earth."

The third step made him excited as he quickly tried to retain his composure, "Blessings Stem From The Exalted Thearch of Heaven and Earth."

At the fourth step he suddenly concentrated, "Blessings Stem From The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth."

When he returned back to the original spot, Callian had a bit of anticipation. As he teresly, after a while Callian quickly gave a sigh as he decided the ritual had failed.

Just as he was about to walk away, an endless grey fog appeared in his eyes, he felt something primal primal, fear perhaps. But the haziness snapped out his thoughts.

The grey fog tried to wrap around him, but it felt something hidden deep within his soul. The moment it came in contact with it, it recoiled back, seemingly in disgust.

Callian felt something awaken inside him as he felt a branch break out from his body and snap towards the fog, it buried deep into the grey fog, as if it was trying to fight it?, absorb it?, he honestly had no clue.

His eyes widened as he suddenly found himself back in his room. The only thought going in his mind was,

"What the fuck just happened!"

A/N - So anyways I created this fan-fic at like 3 a.m because I had an epiphany, "Why don't I create a romance LOTM novel, people in that horrible world deserve some love." So if there's so spelling mistakes do point it out, I was quite high and I don't wanna proof read, I just wanna sleep.

Anyways, while I don't like Audrey, I need the views so I chose her as the female lead. Otherwise I'd have chosen Fors, is there anything else I have to say? Hmm nothing much that's about it. If I have something, I'll get back to you guys later

Also do tell me do you want Callian to be in the Justiciar Pathway or The Black Emperor Pathway.
