The days passed, and Sarah's pregnancy progressed, but the sense of unease lingered. She tried to brush it off as normal anxiety, but the feeling persisted. One night, she began to experience strange and vivid dreams.
In her dreams, she saw dark, twisted images that seemed to shift and writhe like living things. She saw herself holding a baby, but the baby's face was distorted, its eyes black as coal. She saw John standing in the distance, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and warning. And she saw herself running, fleeing from something that was chasing her, but she couldn't see what it was.
The dreams left her feeling shaken and unsettled. She would wake up in the middle of the night, her heart racing, and her sheets drenched with sweat. John would try to comfort her, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that lingered long after she woke up.
As the days went by, the dreams became more frequent and more intense. Sarah started to feel like she was losing her grip on reality. She would see things out of the corner of her eye, shadows moving, and hear whispers in her ear when no one was around.
She tried to talk to John about it, but he just thought she was experiencing normal pregnancy anxiety. "You're just stressed, honey," he would say. "You'll feel better once the baby arrives."
But Sarah knew it was more than that. She felt like something was watching her, something that didn't want her to have this baby. And she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being warned of something, but she didn't know what.
One night, the dreams reached a climax. Sarah saw herself giving birth to a baby, but the baby was not what she expected. It was...different. And as she looked into its eyes, she felt a sense of horror wash over her.
She woke up with a start, her heart racing, and her body drenched in sweat. John was sleeping peacefully beside her, oblivious to the terror that had gripped her. Sarah lay there, her mind racing, wondering what the dreams meant and what was happening to her.
The darkness closed in around her, and she felt a sense of fear that she had never experienced before. She knew she had to talk to someone about these dreams, but she didn't know who to turn to. And as she lay there, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was running out of time.
