Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: A Night of Discovery

Ethan was pleasantly surprised; this endeavor would demand a significant amount of personal time.

"I've reviewed your work, and some of your ideas are quite novel—approaches I hadn't considered before. This benefits me as well. I recommend subscribing to Today's Transfiguration magazine; it's five Galleons a year and will be helpful to you."

Without systematic learning, sudden bursts of inspiration are often bold and novel. Although there are many issues, they also provide Professor McGonagall with new directions to ponder.

After posing a few more questions he couldn't comprehend, Ethan rose to take his leave as it was nearly time for class.

Leaving the office, Ethan felt satisfied. The questions Professor McGonagall had just answered were sufficient to aid his continued improvement in Transfiguration.

Chapter 27: The Reason for Choosing Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw Common Room

Ethan ignored the gazes of his roommates, Terry and the others, and walked directly in another direction.

"Senior, may I sit here?"

Ethan held Alternative Charm Transfiguration in his hand, approached the sofa, and smiled at a quiet girl with black hair and eyes who was reading a book.

Typically, when they don't have classes, Ravenclaw's young wizards prefer to read in the library or the common room, leaving few empty seats.

Given the choice between his roommates and a senior, Ethan naturally preferred sitting with a senior.

She was Asian—the only one at Hogwarts—and entirely different from the movies, possessing a fresh and elegant beauty.

"Ah, please sit!"

The senior immediately moved aside, giving Ethan more space.

Cho Chang knew about Ethan—a Hatstall assigned to Ravenclaw.

Ethan didn't rush to converse and began browsing the book he had just found in the Ravenclaw internal library.

Being able to publish a book and have it passed down indicates a deep understanding of Transfiguration and recognition from others.

Meanwhile, Terry, Michael, and Gene were frowning at their parchment. The Transfiguration essay was due this Wednesday.

Although, after listening to Ethan's explanation in class, they managed to change their matches without turning them into charcoal, they still hadn't figured out how to write the essay.

They had intended to ask Ethan for his insights, hoping to gain some ideas.

They didn't expect him to be flirting with a senior again. Now, the three of them had seen Ethan's true nature.

"Aren't you doing your homework?"

Cho Chang, who had closed her book and set it down, pointed to the young wizards nearby and asked Ethan curiously.

Ravenclaw students never leave their homework overnight; they usually complete it the same day, which is entirely opposite to Gryffindor.

"Actually, I don't need to write it because I've already completed today's Transfiguration task."

Ethan smiled slightly, giving an answer that Cho Chang didn't anticipate.

She was a second-year student who had just advanced this year. In their grade last year, no one managed to transform the match in the first class. She knew how challenging it was.

As for her, it was during the second week, or the third class, when she perfectly turned the match into a needle. Her progress was considered swift.

As expected of a Hatstall—even the Sorting Hat struggled with this young wizard. His talent was indeed exceptional.

"Senior, are you planning to participate in the Quidditch team selection?"

Ethan noticed the book in Cho Chang's hand, Flying with the Cannons, and deduced it was related to Quidditch.

"Yes, the Quidditch tryouts are starting in a few days, and I'm unsure if I'll be selected. I want to learn more Quidditch skills now."

Cho Chang nodded. She loved Quidditch and aspired to be a Seeker.

"Senior, you definitely won't have a problem."

Ethan spoke with certainty. In the original work, Cho Chang was a member of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

"I hope so. Cho Chang!"

The senior extended her right hand with a smile.

"Ethan Adrian!"

The three roommates observing Ethan couldn't help but shake their heads at the scene.

They started chatting so quickly. Are seniors that easy to flirt with?

They began to question Ethan's motives for entering Ravenclaw. They heard from older students that, as a Hatstall, he possessed traits of multiple houses, and the reason he chose Ravenclaw over others was likely because Ravenclaw had the highest quality of seniors.

This was acknowledged throughout Hogwarts. After all, which house received more love letters than Ravenclaw?

Afternoon Class: History of Magic

After the public embarrassment in Transfiguration class that morning, Harry and Ron finally weren't late.

Before Ethan's arrival, the two had already clashed with Draco Malfoy. If not for the inappropriate setting, they might have fought.

Due to Ethan's intervention, their feud at this point was more intense than in the original story.

Before sitting down, Ethan greeted Hermione and Cassandra.

Cassandra nodded in response. Among all the Hogwarts classmates, only Ethan could match her, leading her to treat him differently from others.

If someone else greeted her, she would likely ignore them.

Hermione responded with a displeased pout. She recalled that when she got up early for breakfast, Ethan was chatting and laughing with that Ravenclaw prefect, and then at noon, he was with an Asian girl.

I was here first!

Yet, every time we meet, he either comments on my buck teeth or my buck teeth.

The class bell rang, and a very old ghost floated in.

Finally, I understood why History of Magic was considered the most boring course. Professor Binns's voice was deep and hypnotic, and he neither asked questions nor cared about what the students were doing. He simply lectured from the textbook.

Within ten minutes of class, at least one-third of the students had fallen asleep, and the rest were either whispering or playing wizard chess on parchment. Few were listening attentively.

History is inherently interesting, especially the fantastical history of wizards.

For instance, the founding and adventures of the four founders of Hogwarts, major events over the millennia, the development of the wizarding world, and the impact of the Middle Ages witch hunts on wizards, and so on.

It's just that Professor Binns made the History of Magic class dull.

Ethan simply lay on the table, closing his eyes to rest, preparing for tonight's night tour.

As soon as class ended, Professor Binns floated out of the classroom on time, not forgetting to assign homework.

Chapter 28: Night Tour (Seeking Fresh Flowers and Reviews)

After ten o'clock in the evening, the young wizards in the same dormitory were already asleep.

Ethan gently tapped the pillow with his wand, transforming it into his own appearance, ensuring that even if someone got up to use the toilet in the middle of the night, they wouldn't notice anything.

Then, he took out his suitcase with the Undetectable Extension Charm, used a Shrinking Charm to reduce its size, and placed it in his pocket.

"Silently!"

"Without a trace!"

Using two spells, Ethan opened the dormitory door and walked directly toward the common room.

As expected, the common room was empty at this hour.

Leaving the common room, tonight's night tour was considered mostly successful.

Night tours are an old tradition at Hogwarts. Wizards who haven't experienced a night tour have an incomplete educational journey.

In this regard, the school is also deliberately indulgent. If they truly wanted to prohibit it, considering Dumbledore's extensive network across the campus—including moving armors, paintings, Peeves, and ghosts—they could easily enforce the rules.

Once that's the case, see who else dares to go on a night tour.

Therefore, young wizards who understand this know that Hogwarts' rules are "only when you're caught does it count as a violation."

However, this also explains why so many Hogwarts graduates end up in Azkaban for further studies.

If you don't follow the rules while studying, it doesn't count as a violation unless you're caught!

After graduation, they naturally continue this habit, but those lacking skill get caught and need to go to Azkaban for further education.

Walking on the spiral staircase, Ethan's goal at this moment was clear: the Room of Requirement.

Ethan remembered its location: opposite the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy being clubbed by trolls on the eighth floor of Hogwarts Castle.

Under normal circumstances, it cannot be seen, nor will it appear, but as long as you concentrate on the place you need and walk past that wall three times, a smooth door will appear, allowing entry into the Room of Requirement.

The only trouble is that the headmaster's office is also on the eighth floor, and Dumbledore sometimes uses the Room of Requirement as a toilet.

If he encounters him, it will be troublesome. Ethan doesn't believe his magic can escape Dumbledore's notice, even with Shadow Stealth.

It actually triggered an achievement!

Just as Ethan walked out of the Ravenclaw Tower, an achievement notification appeared.

Indeed, surprises are everywhere.

[Rules]

Rules, what rules? My rules are the rules!

Achievement Goal: Violate Hogwarts School Rules (1/1)

Achievement Reward: Physical fitness improvement, upper limit increase

In an instant, Ethan felt as if he had been electrocuted; his entire body was numb and trembling. If he hadn't been holding onto the wall, he might have fallen.

This sensation came and went quickly. Once recovered, Ethan felt as though he could kill a cow with a single punch!

Simultaneously, Ethan noticed a significant increase in his magical power.

This is also related to Ethan's talent, "Strong Physique," which enhances the compatibility of magical power while improving physical fitness through exercise, thereby boosting magical power.

Now, directly improving physical fitness also indirectly enhances magical power. However, he didn't know the upper limit or whether he could arm wrestle with Hagrid in the future.

"Hey, it's you two again!"

Just as Ethan stepped onto the stairs on the second floor, a sharp and arrogant voice echoed in his ear.

"George, Fred, where's the Dungbomb you promised me last semester!"

"No one can deceive Peeves the Great!"

"Meow!"

A cat's meow came from upstairs, followed by rapid footsteps. Obviously, Filch had heard the noise and was approaching.

"Adrian, don't stand there; run with us."

Ethan stood still, but two identical young wizards ran toward him at high speed, directly revealing Ethan's location, followed by a chubby black boy.

Ethan was confused. Was his Disillusionment Charm ineffective?

This entity grinned, floating in the air with its feet off the ground.

Peeves—Ethan knew some information about him. He wasn't a ghost; he had a physical body and could touch
