Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Warden of Poison

The toxic haze rolled through Blazing Hell, coating the walls in a suffocating purple mist.

Shun Kaien kept his distance, eyes locked on Magellan, who stood like a fortress in the center of the battlefield.

System Notification:Synchronization Template: Chiyo.Possession Tokens Remaining: 6.Session Duration: 1 hour.

He felt the shift immediately.

His body moved differently now.

Strings danced from his fingertips, connected to the ancient puppets now circling him like sentinels.Their presence was cold, efficient, lifeless.

It wasn't his preferred style.

But brute strength wouldn't save him here.

Magellan was no brawler. He was the battlefield.

Shun stayed silent, analyzing.

Magellan unleashed Poison Channel, a torrent of viscous venom that surged across the floor like a tidal wave.

Shun withdrew, controlling his puppets from a safe range, keeping his body clear of the spreading gas.

The puppets advanced.

Magellan narrowed his eyes.

He understood now.

Shun wasn't going to engage him directly.

Shun didn't need to.

White Secret Technique:Ten Puppets of Chikamatsu.

The legendary constructs activated, their wooden forms deflecting the poison torrents, their weapons cutting through the toxic streams before the gas could reach him.

But even then—the poison lingered.

Magellan's real power wasn't in the strike. It was in the saturation.

The air itself became a weapon.

Shun kept moving.

He couldn't allow himself to be boxed in.

Magellan unleashed Poison Pufferfish, massive orbs of gas sailing toward him.

Shun's mind raced.

If they detonate near me, even the puppets can't contain the spread.

He flicked his hands.

The puppets intercepted, shredding the orbs in midair, forcing the explosions to detonate farther out, creating controlled bursts that avoided his position.

Magellan watched him with cold calculation.

The man wasn't frustrated.

He was adjusting.

"Persistent," Magellan muttered, releasing Poison Dragons, massive constructs of venom that slithered through the air like beasts.

Shun responded in kind.

Puppet Technique:Three Treasures Crushing.

Three puppets combined, creating a vortex of compressed air that swallowed the incoming dragons, condensing their mass before redirecting the lethal payload back toward Magellan's side.

Magellan didn't flinch.

Of course. He's immune to his own poison.

But Shun wasn't aiming to hurt him yet.

He was testing.

Calculating.

Learning.

This isn't about overpowering him. It's about dismantling his control.Piece by piece.

He sent the puppets forward.

Magellan responded, his poison dragons coiling around him like guardians.

Meanwhile, far below—Level Six: Infinite Hell.

Domino stood before the sealed chamber.

Her hands trembled.

Not from fear.

But from the crushing weight of what she was about to do.

Shiryu of the Rain.

A monster locked away by Magellan himself.

And now—he might be their only chance.

The suffocating silence of Level Six pressed on her like a vice.

She inserted the key.

From the shadows, a voice echoed.

"Trouble upstairs?"

Shiryu's figure stepped into the dim light, his sword at his side, his smile cold and empty.

Domino forced herself to meet his gaze.

"Prisoner uprising.Magellan is fighting him now.If he fails, you know what comes next."

Shiryu tilted his head.

"One man causing all this?Interesting."

Another voice slithered from the neighboring cell.

Catarina Devon.

"You'll all die down here eventually.Might as well open our doors now."

Domino didn't answer.

She focused only on Shiryu.

His hand reached toward the bars.

"Open it.I'm feeling... thirsty."

Domino swallowed her disgust and turned the key.

The door clicked.

And the butcher of Impel Down stepped free.
